Good Morning! Today is actually our official one year wedding anniversary in our 36th year together! As if eating 4 Bazillion calories on the cruise wasn't enough, we're going with my brother and SIL (today's their wedding anniversary as well, since we got married side by side one year ago today) to the Hyatt Regency on Tampa Bay for their over the top Sunday buffet, where another Bazillion calories will be consumed!

Much different today then 36 years ago, I bet!

Oh my, the changes we've seen. When we made the commitment to be a monogamous couple 36 years ago, the idea that we could, in our lifetime become a legally married couple seemed completely implausible. We still have much to fight for in personal rights (in many states it's perfectly legal for a gay person to be fired simply because they are gay, or denied housing), but the changes we've seen are so dramatic and wonderful, it gives me hope for future generations!

Odd day for me. Wife and eldest daughter working all day and youngest daughter away until Tuesday with friends. It's strange when I have the place to myself. Chores are done and the sun is out. Guess it will be a relaxing day sitting in the sun on the back deck, some tunes on, and perhaps a cocktail or two and a vape obviously. Hope everyone has a good day.

Thanks Mike. We were married on our favorite beach, just an hour south of our home. We didn't want a big to do (we had no guests - just the minister, the 4 of us, a photographer and we were videoed by Yahoo for a video Yahoo News was doing about Governmental Animus towards gays in the US) and we wanted to wear tropical casual.

I posted a link to this long ago, but the Yahoo Video called "Uniquely Nasty" is worthy of being posted again. The third chapter is all about Charlie, who successfully sued the federal government in the early 70's for wrongfully firing him. His case wound up at the Supreme Court and effectively ended the wrongful firing of gay people in government jobs. Here's a link if anyone wants to watch it. The chapter about Charlie was filmed in our dining room.
