all the things you'll need to make consistent coils

Wire,
Wire cutter, nail clippers work fine
Scissors,
Coil form, a wooden toothpick, a blue screwdriver, a 14 gauge blunt needle or a drill bit all work well.
And a screwdriver to attach the coil.

That is all that is needed for coiling a regulated mod.

and tweezers or needle nose pliers (for contact coils).

I guess I went a little over the top. I bought a Coil Master, which makes perfect coils every time and even though a Provari is regulated and can read the ohm of the coil, I use an ohm meter to test my coils before they go into the atomizer.

Only thing I don't already have is a propane torch. For heating the coil I assume? And is it required?

No.

Alot of people just pulse the coil on the mod.

There's a school of thought on the subject that posits that torching the coil isn't a good thing to do.

I used to torch my coils, but eventually came to agree with that.

YMMV

SquapeR for capacity, squape Rs is a little smaller, but still nice. The w deck is the easiest build deck I've ever seen, simple wicking, and awesome flavor! It keeps my kabuki in #2 spot!

The build deck(s) seem very easy to work with indeed. Biggest problem I see is actually getting my hands on one lol.

As others have said, it's not required, but I do torch my wire before making a coil. It makes the wire a little less flexible and easier (at least to me) to work with. And once the coil is built, I torch it and use tweezers to make sure it's shaped correctly. I'm OCD about things and I likely do things that aren't required, but for me what I do works.

Nothing wrong with the Coil Master stuff IMO. I have the V1 package and use it a ton. Just easier to have ALL the tools I could ever need in one place.

Sure, I could wrap coils on a nail or toothpick, but why bother?

For regular kanthal it is perfectly fine. Any TC wires, I wouldn't dry fire. I don't bother with TC any more but I THINK SS is the exception. I do it once the coil is installed. Then I wash it off then wick.

Also, sounds stupid but you would be amazed at how many people forget to wash their greasy hands well before wicking which is the main reason for the initial gross taste.

+1 on this. I bought a Coilmaster kit, V2 I believe, and am very happy with it. The kit came with everything I need and stores in a nice little case that I can easily tuck away in my vape lair, aka home office closet...that my damn daughters have left me barely any room in from prom dresses and what not. Sorry...it's not too early for a cocktail, right?
