If my understanding is correct, the "Plus" version has two airflow screws.
Nope. Only the clone has two air flow holes on the bottom. Sir Rod is right.
I have to say though, I agree about using clones
to a certain extent. At one time, when the Kayfun Lite was the first high-end atomizer, it was almost impossible to get and approached $200 when you could find one. SvoeMesto was always out of stock, so the only way many people had to get a decent rebuildable atomizer at the time was through clone manufacturers like EhPro. It was my first rebuildable atomizer and I was quite happy with the quality and performance of it - and yes, I still use them to this day.
The EhPro is the rare case where a clone is very well done. It works as well as the authentic and is machined with comparable standards - and with the dual air flow screws on the bottom it may even out perform the original. It also comes in various colors that SvoeMesto does not offer. Where I do have a problem is the re-creation of the piece down to the logos and lettering - that is flat out
wrong. But at the time, EhPro filled a serious need in the vaping community and brought the RBA into the reach of the masses.
But I feel that mod makers have a responsibility to produce at least enough units to
reasonably keep up with their products demand. Take a look at ByLeo, for example. His Calix RBA is a fine piece of equipment (he make a P3 threaded version that is really nice) and he manages to keep his products in stock or at least will re-stock pretty quickly so that anyone who wants can buy them in a timely manner.
On the other side of the fence is a product like Ubertoot, who teases people with updates and makes them wait for months before he announces the day they will go on sale. It is not uncommon for him to sell out in a matter of minutes, forcing everyone else to wait months before they play the game again. Manufacturers like that are begging for their products to be cloned to satisfy the desire
they themselves have manufactured with the public yet refuse to keep pace with.
Thankfully, most reputable makers are doing a much better job of supplying the demand and have their products available. In this case I agree wholeheartedly and will support the original makers without hesitation. I do not support the ongoing cloning of most products, because the vast majority of the time the clones are inferior and quite possibly dangerous. But if a clone is the
only way for someone to get a product in their hands because of a needless scarcity created around a product, so be it.
