It's absolutely a kayfun Lite + V2. And a great rba to boot!

Since you have some experience with this tank, let me as you this. I noted in a video on rebuilding via YouTube where a guy claimed to be using a V2. As soon as he showed the base I immediately saw an extra air flow screw from what I have. So in total, he had 2 standard small airflow screws, the standard 510 post, and the Phillips juice refill o-ringed screw. His tank also had the same 2014/04 stamp on the base. Is that just a later version of the V2 then?

I have two V2's and they are exactly the same as you posted. I wonder if what you're describing is instead an EHPRO clone, which does have the dual airflow screws. A true Svoemesto only has one airflow screw and thus you have an authentic.

Ooo Ooo, I missed it the first time I watched the video! The date stamp on the base of his is 2014/05 not 2014/04 like mine, so it's apparently a change made after mine was shipped.

You sir, are correct. I went back and watched the unboxing and it was indeed a EHPRO clone.

Thought so. SR, doesn't do clone. No he does not!

Agreed. I understand if one just flat out does not have the loot to buy from the creator, but it will be a cold day in Hades indeed before I buy one.

correct.

From Vaperev:

".. SvoëMesto has added adjustable airflow to the Plus, making the atty more adaptable than before! The fill valve has also been recessed further into the bottom cap to allow the top of your juice bottle to make a more efficient connection with the valve and prevent wasting juice. An O-ring has also been added to the fill valve screw, ensuring a leak-proof seal! The Kayfun Lite Plus (second batch) features a newly designed removable drip tip, top cap and revised engravings on the bottom of each atomizer. Includes both a stainless steel and Makrolon center tube, allowing visibility of your juice level.."

I think they also added a revised oring interface between the top cap and chimney.. that's my recollection anyway. They may be including that under "newly designed".

If my understanding is correct, the "Plus" version has two airflow screws.
Nope. Only the clone has two air flow holes on the bottom. Sir Rod is right.

I have to say though, I agree about using clones to a certain extent. At one time, when the Kayfun Lite was the first high-end atomizer, it was almost impossible to get and approached $200 when you could find one. SvoeMesto was always out of stock, so the only way many people had to get a decent rebuildable atomizer at the time was through clone manufacturers like EhPro. It was my first rebuildable atomizer and I was quite happy with the quality and performance of it - and yes, I still use them to this day.

The EhPro is the rare case where a clone is very well done. It works as well as the authentic and is machined with comparable standards - and with the dual air flow screws on the bottom it may even out perform the original. It also comes in various colors that SvoeMesto does not offer. Where I do have a problem is the re-creation of the piece down to the logos and lettering - that is flat out wrong. But at the time, EhPro filled a serious need in the vaping community and brought the RBA into the reach of the masses.

But I feel that mod makers have a responsibility to produce at least enough units to reasonably keep up with their products demand. Take a look at ByLeo, for example. His Calix RBA is a fine piece of equipment (he make a P3 threaded version that is really nice) and he manages to keep his products in stock or at least will re-stock pretty quickly so that anyone who wants can buy them in a timely manner.

On the other side of the fence is a product like Ubertoot, who teases people with updates and makes them wait for months before he announces the day they will go on sale. It is not uncommon for him to sell out in a matter of minutes, forcing everyone else to wait months before they play the game again. Manufacturers like that are begging for their products to be cloned to satisfy the desire they themselves have manufactured with the public yet refuse to keep pace with.

Thankfully, most reputable makers are doing a much better job of supplying the demand and have their products available. In this case I agree wholeheartedly and will support the original makers without hesitation. I do not support the ongoing cloning of most products, because the vast majority of the time the clones are inferior and quite possibly dangerous. But if a clone is the only way for someone to get a product in their hands because of a needless scarcity created around a product, so be it.

I.trust you guys, and only know what I'd heard. So my curiosity now wants to know what was "Plus" about it.
The "plus" version was the first Kayfun to have the adjustable air flow screw on the bottom of the atomizer.

The "plus" also had V1 and V2, in which the top cap outside tapering was changed and the o-ring at the top of the chimney was placed in a more secure position inside the mouthpiece.

You guys are awesome (and at literal wealth of information). I'm obviously not up on a lot of this, so I appreciate the education.

Don't ask me to repeat it next weekend, please. ;)

the Kayfun Lite pictured above has an aftermarket drip tip ... not the original it came with.

Yea, I mentioned that in my OP. Found the thing swaddled in bubble wrap with no drip tip in the garage. Talked with the wife about it and the only thing we could come up with is it was a gift that got misplaced. Since I'm here, I will briefly give my thoughts on the KFL+ V2. I set out tonight on my first attempt at a coil build and wicking adventure. After watching about three hours worth of video, I decided my goal would be to make my first coil at around 1.8 ohms. Surprisingly, my coil came in at 1.83 ohms. I was a little proud. I used Japanese cotton for my wicking material. My DIY 14mg 50/50 juice was the test medium. After all was said and done, I found it to be an enjoyable vape. It was not; however, even in the ballpark with regards to it's flavor versus my Kabuki. I used the same mod (Radius) at the same watts with the same basic resistance for this comparison. I later carefully packaged all my rebuilding tools and KFL+ and stored them in a nice dark dry place. Should those D-Nozzles in congress ever make good on their threats, I know I can at least throw something satisfying together with the Kayfun. I can see where some personality types would enjoy the process of creating their own coils, but for me, I found it tedious and boring at best. I shall happily go forward with my Kabook's and drop in coils without fear of having missed something better. As always, this is just my humble opinion and YMMV.

Interesting. It's good you gave it a try and sounds like you did it right! Good job.

For me and my vaping style, I find the pre-built coils like on the Nautilus and Kabuki to be rather trying. I like to change flavors with every tank and find that rinsing out the coil and letting it dry out completely much more time consuming and difficult that slapping a new piece of cotton in the micro coil. But I guess if you had a couple of different coils to swap in the Kabuki it might not be so bad.

Many people have said that the Kabuki approaches the flavor of a good rebuildable atomizer, but it sounds like you feel the Kabuki produces a better flavor. I just haven't been able to bring myself to pulling that Kabuki trigger yet, maybe I will rethink this and find a good deal on one just to try it out.

Thanks for your thoughts, Jim.

And this here is xactly why my two KFL+ and Russian 91% are nice and clean and stored in my vape drawer and I have 4 Kabuki in my daily rotation. If'n it becomes impossible to get Nauty coils, I know I'm capable of making coils for my Kayfuns and can have a satisfying vape. But my Kayfuns are IMHO the equal to or better and the convenience simply can't be beat.

I have 20 boxes of Nauty coils stockpiled. I have plenty of extra o-rings and I now have 4 glass replacement tanks in ready for when I break one on one of my Buki's.

The sheer amount of Nautilus tanks out there (and the likely insanely high margin on every $2 coil) would make me think that Aspire and/or 3rd parties would be completely mental not to make compatible coils for a very long time. Same can be said for Subtanks IMO.

I will have over a dozen boxes of coils by tomorrow and as soon as I see any good sales, I will buy another dozen at least.

I am interested in trying the RBA as soon as there is a useable version.

P.s. I am a huge fan of the Kabuki steel tanks. Those will last nearly forever and I have one for each Kabuki.
