EXACTLY why there's a 2nd Amendment and why IT'S THE 2ND ONE! :smokie:
True dat! :)

Has it been a wonderful experience for anyone here to have met with a gov. agency for anything? ......especially the IRS?
Not really.
I worked for a City in the finance dept. for about 6 months...hated it beyond belief, hence leaving after only 6 months.
I won't lump them all into it, because there are good people tucked in here and there.
There are some really nice folks at the DMV in my little hometown.
The other woman in my office has to report employee work info to some agency, that woman she reports to seems to be really nice.

The auditors, weren't nice. The entire experience seemed to be framed around intimidation.
It was really appalling. Not a smile, no chit-chat to show that you're actually a human...

If anyone here IS an auditor, I don't mean to sound mean, I'm sure there are reasons for the way you carry yourselves, but it's NOT a good "look" for y'all. ;) Jes sayin'. :D

Well, all I got to say is, thank God over half our military is Reserves and National Guards - CILVILIANS! In the 90's, the most anti-government literature was coming out of the National Guard. Of course, I am in Michigan... ;)

Why is it that the fencing around the White House is scheduled to grow to 11.5 feet? :(

I thought we didn't need walls, but to build bridges.

It's easy to be against guns when you live in a guarded house, ride in bullet proof cars, and have the secret service by your side.

Ex banking here and maybe I can shed some light on this...
It's human nature to develop relationships.
An auditor can have NO bias...and when they sometimes see you every couple of months...well, it's just human nature to be 'friendly'...and they really just can't afford to "like" you...they are there to audit you.
And if there are any "findings" they must act accordingly...sometimes people go to jail.
Does that make sense ?

(no, I wasn't an auditor)

I actually had wondered if that might have been why, because that really makes the most sense.
...method to the madness, so to speak.
Honestly, I remember thinking at the time, how sad it must be to have their job.

But...I'm the type that never meets a stranger, and I'll talk to anyone. (I know, shocker for those who know me here.:lol::lol:)
So, it's especially hard for me to wrap my head around that sort of mentality.
But I do get it, thanks for confirming that because I did kind of wonder if that's what the reasoning behind it was.

...there's an industry that's REALLY changed over the years. I'm speaking of how they treat commercial customers, and how so much has changed regarding what they charge for.
But, I guess it's survival on their part.
Low interest rates mean they can't make enough to cover their expenses, so every minute thing gets passed on as a separate charge.
Different times for sure.

That makes perfect sense, they need to insulate themselves both legally and psychologically from the everyday realities of what their job entails.

meep.

This isn't the same article I read, but the gist is pretty much the same: Why the U.S. Government Never, Ever Has to Pay Back All Its Debt

<waves to everyone>[
ocelot_girl_anime.gif
Sure, that's right that governments never have to pay it back, and have no intention of doing so. But, that's the same BS that's thrown out in many places.
Last I checked, we the taxpayers pay around $300 billion per year in interest on the national debt. What? If we have to pay taxes to pay for something, there may be better places to spend that money.

just mixed up 5x30ml bottles of my favourite daily vapes ... cheaper than a pack of smokes :smokie:
Smoking is so much cooler though. Plus the chicks dig it. ;)

I picked up ANOTHER litre of NIC yesterday and was so lazy that I poured the whole thing into a Brock Street Brewery 1l growler (enough to fill within a 1/4" to the top which is awesome) and slapped it in the freezer. I now have a good 20 years of NIC for my wife and I if we stay at 6mg juice.:thumb:

Just checked it. You're already on the list, so go ahead and write the White House.

Thanks for the heads up. I have an idea as to why I made the list. I even have a picture. Now how do I get off the list??
