Thanks gin!
Hey, no problem! There was a time when I wouldn't care enough to bother, but I like you. You've grown on me, like moss on a rock... :D

Really hope it was a good day for you.

MY preferred candidates will be on exhibit tonight, faint as hopes can be. But I shall push on until the final bell tolls. Freedom is as freedom does. ;-)

Whomever your candidates are I hope one of their duties is to prevent the 22 veterans a day from committing suicide and get the thousands of homeless vets off the streets. It's ok to take in Syrian refugees and give them carte blanche along with open borders but fine to treat our vets as second class citizens.

It is a difficult problem and the government has only had around 300 years to work on solutions.
Modern peeps are so impatient.

I heard this on the radio driving to work, then got the news of a shooting in Germany. Very sad.
All I could think was 'plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose'

Agree the more things change the more they stay the same. I know the song a anti Vietnam war song, one of many.

Ping, yes I recall the origins of the song too (husband 4F for flat feet). The current state of divisiveness has echoes of the past. The lyrics resonated with me.

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid

The ones that nobody's paying attention to, sadly enough.

America prefers Tweedle DEET or Tweedle DUMB (one's toxic, the other's an idiot).

Sorry...

Yes, we need to care for our vets. Wish everyone would agree on that, roll up their sleeves and get it done. When did working across the aisle become dirty words? (rhetorical question)

My FIL was captured on D-Day (82nd Airborne) and my father was wounded in Korea. Somehow, my brothers survived the AF and Army. However, an adopted member of the family is dealing with damage from 2 tours in Iraq, both physical and mental. He takes 22 pills in the AM, 6 in the afternoon and 19 at night and is still in constant pain, surgery has been delayed 1-2 years longer than us civies would consider reasonable and he's on the list for a therapy dog which is out 10-12 months. It hurts to see all he's going through and pisses me off what he's had to do to get much needed treatment.

God bless them all. I'll pray for your adopted family member to receive the care he most certainly deserves. No vet should have to wait a year or two for surgery. I've read good things about therapy dogs and hopefully he will have one soon. You are not the only who is ...... off.
