I heard this on the radio driving to work, then got the news of a shooting in Germany. Very sad.
All I could think was 'plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose'
Thank you for this, WHL...... classic, in tune, AND meaning.
Yes, we need to care for our vets. Wish everyone would agree on that, roll up their sleeves and get it done. When did working across the aisle become dirty words? (rhetorical question)
My FIL was captured on D-Day (82nd Airborne) and my father was wounded in Korea. Somehow, my brothers survived the AF and Army. However, an adopted member of the family is dealing with damage from 2 tours in Iraq, both physical and mental. He takes 22 pills in the AM, 6 in the afternoon and 19 at night and is still in constant pain, surgery has been delayed 1-2 years longer than us civies would consider reasonable and he's on the list for a therapy dog which is out 10-12 months. It hurts to see all he's going through and pisses me off what he's had to do to get much needed treatment.
I'm so sorry.
Would that I could say a word that initiates its prose with the 6th letter!
