I heard this on the radio driving to work, then got the news of a shooting in Germany. Very sad.
All I could think was 'plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose'

Thank you for this, WHL...... classic, in tune, AND meaning.

Yes, we need to care for our vets. Wish everyone would agree on that, roll up their sleeves and get it done. When did working across the aisle become dirty words? (rhetorical question)

My FIL was captured on D-Day (82nd Airborne) and my father was wounded in Korea. Somehow, my brothers survived the AF and Army. However, an adopted member of the family is dealing with damage from 2 tours in Iraq, both physical and mental. He takes 22 pills in the AM, 6 in the afternoon and 19 at night and is still in constant pain, surgery has been delayed 1-2 years longer than us civies would consider reasonable and he's on the list for a therapy dog which is out 10-12 months. It hurts to see all he's going through and pisses me off what he's had to do to get much needed treatment.

I'm so sorry. :(

Would that I could say a word that initiates its prose with the 6th letter!

Alfred E. Newman? Can't be Nader nor Perot. You got me.

(one's toxic, the other's an idiot). One is going to disarm you.

I'd vote Neuman, if he were an option.

Johnson/Weld 2016. Free to be you & me.

Go ahead, someone, I dare you (to post THAT song).

Yep. The only casualty was the attacker himself.

I heard that part later.. initial report here was that 25 were injured with 'we don't know yet...' hype. I suspect the outcome would have been very different in the US.

Now we have Brexit. I stayed up late watching BBC after the projection was announced. wow.

Today's thought - an old Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times.

It worked out pretty well for the colonies, 240 years ago... ;)

Well, until recently that is.

You live in a blue state so Neuman should be on the ballot. Sorry I can't get agree with the ideas of Johnson/Weld. Being free to be me is wonderful. Being free to pay for open boarders and paying for illegal immigrants not good at all.

Might I suggest, with all due respect, a little more reading, and a little less FOX watching?

Vote your preference, but do it with a full & rounded education. Cable news does NOT provide such a thing. And I don't believe anything would change your mind, but I recognize the (inaccurate) rhetoric.

Enough. Shall we grab a vape & brew? I'm in.

And yes - he SHOULD be on my ballot. We all know where my state will fall... :(

And ye

How about a brew, vape, and a cuban?

Here are my issues with Johnson and I was able to find his site after an exhausting google search.

Immigration: Make it easier not harder to enter our country?

Job Creation: Zero tax for business but tax the workers? Hello

Foreign Policy: The same as Trump has been saying plus Trump doesn't want to take in any refugees from Syria.

Criminal Justice reform: I agree potheads shouldn't be sent to prison. He only mentioned the leafy plant.

Education: Here is what he says. More broadly, Gov. Johnson believes there is no role for the Federal Government in education. He would eliminate the federal Department of Education, and return control to the state and local levels. He opposes Common Core and any other attempts to impose national standards and requirements on local schools, believing the key to restoring education excellence in the U.S. lies in the innovation, freedom and flexibility that federal interference inherently discourages.

Right out of the Trump playbook. Trump has been saying that from day one.

Abortion: He is totally wishy washy on the subject.

Tax code: Yup it is screwed up, but Mr Johnson isn't very clear on who pays taxes and who doesn't. Well a business won't pay any tax.

DP I did read and turned off Fox News too. What he left out was the 2nd Amendment entirely off his web site. Since it's a major topic I'm concerned about why his Presidential web site is avoiding the subject. :toast:

Ping, you really think UK leaving the EU would be a good thing for them?

R

I do because from what I've read the working people are fed up with immigration mainly from the middle east. I feel Germany is in for a wide awakening from allowing 2 million immigrants into their country. I'm amazed they can foot the bill for them. I'm not for open borders at all and by that I mean our southern border.
