let me throw my quick review into the mix.
so i got the prodigy today (saturday 6/20) and believe it or not...i didn't try it right away. yes...i have amazing patience. i spent the day carving a new carrying case for it, because if i didn't do it now, well, i'd have to do it eventually.
so, hours after i finally got that done...i tried it.
assembly was pretty easy.
i know there was a mention of how the switch can fly out if you have the batteries in already and try to remove the top adapter, so, don't do that. i tried it and yes, the pressure from the batteries will indeed push the switch out. i only loosened the top adapter to feel for pressure and it's there.
as for the batteries and the bottom cap, yes, it's a pretty tight coil, and is a bit bothersome trying to get the thing screwed on, so my method was to slide the batteries in, tilt it angled downward, and palm the bottom adapter so i had more leverage holding it in, and twisting it on that way. hope that makes sense? i can't take a pic since i need both hands! think similar to how you open a childproof medicine bottle. it's much easier using your palm than trying to use your fingers to press it down and twist it til the threads catch.
either way, that's not a problem, just one of those things that practice will make easier.
the batteries charged pretty quickly, though i don't know if the "light" on them should be considered accurate, i just threw the new pair on for about 4 hours and the other pair (one was cellophaned, the other pair was not) on for about 2 hours, and the light turned red to charge, then green when done? maybe someone can address if the light is accurate for "full charge" or not.
so, after my case was done, batteries were ready, and i had everything prepared to take with me, i tested it out.
and it didn't work.
just kidding...haha.
it worked perfectly!
i'm using the 901 adapter, and i attached an atty i've used for about a month now (yes, a month) and added a couple drops of homemade licorice, and WOW. literally nothing else i could say but WOW. just a side note for comparison of atomizers, this 901 atty i'm using is from Altsmoke.com (not a plug, just information as to what type). i have about 6 atomizers in my collection but this is the one i've used steadily, so i can't comment on the atomizers from Puresmoker since i just haven't had to use one yet, since i've had no failures of parts.
it was literally so intense it choked me up, but not in a bad way, just an immensely powerful vaping experience. the few flavors i have tried so far are VERY good. i think one difference is, i don't taste the flavors going "in" but the aftertaste on the exhale is superb and makes my mouth water. yes...throat hit is INTENSE on bigger drags, and i'm only familiar with a passthru and also a standard 901 ecig battery.
i have NEVER FELT such a strong throat hit and taste from my passthru, and especially not from an ecig battery. if expletives were proper, i'd use a string of them to explain how awesome this hit and taste is.
as for the switch, i think it feels great. you really have to give a solid push to activate it, so i don't foresee it being a problem to hit it accidentally. it's large enough for a male finger to depress easily, IMHO.
i've recently taken to dripping, i used to use carts and topping up, so i'm no expert...but i just add a couple drops, vape a few hits until i can taste something other than flavor (burny, dry, hot, dull) and then add a couple more. that's my method...first sign of taste going down and tasting anything burnt, i add a couple drops. i don't overdo it. unfortunately, that does seem like it will be a bit annoying to drip so often, especially if out in a bar, but i really doubt i'll be hitting this thing quite as often, so i think the trade off works itself out.
this has been said before...DON'T overdo your inhales, don't burn the switch too long, or you WILL fry your atomizer.
i don't take hits as long as i did on a passthru or ecig with the Prodigy, i just can't do it. maybe some of you hardcore folks can though, but again, i'd guess that you're risking damage to the atomizer by doing so.
so we've covered flavor and throat hit, and ease of use...oh, i've never used a manual, but i'm a gamer by heart...so pressing a button, inhaling, letting go, and removing the Prodigy from my lips isn't so complicated or weird. dunno, maybe it might be a learning curve for some, but i can't say i've had to think about it at all, just seems second nature.
what else...
vapor.
big question i guess...is amount of vapor. well, i think this ties in with duration of your inhale...and mine are now shorter than a standard ecig, so i can't say i'm making huge amounts of vapor, but it's definitely thick and hearty

if i inhaled for 5 or 6 seconds i'm positive it would cloud the room, but i'd rather enjoy it and not kill my atty just to see a big cloud, hehe.
honestly...this is my first manual device and first high powered device...and it is TOP FREAKIN' NOTCH. i've not had a vaping experience like this, ever. a typical passthru is NOTHING compared to using a Prodigy.
do yourself a favor...and get one now. i don't think i'll ever be able to go back to using another device.
i do need to play around with it using carts and see if it wicks well though, just to save some hassle in public of dripping all the time, but i think that's a sacrifice i'm willing to make for the flavor and hit of this thing.
