give it a go already sar!!!!!
Okay, I did it. My orgasmic prodigy virginity is now gone forever.
My first impressions:
Really like the fact that the Prodigy is solid enough to stand vertically on my desk.
No problems putting in the batteries -- but I did read a lot on these forums about how etc so I had some advantage there.
The 901 adapter was already attached, and since 901 atty was included in the package that was the first one I tried. Discovered there was no wool in the cartridge, so swapped it with one of the spare ones I had on hand.
Since many people talked about how hard-hitting the Prodigy can be, I didn't use my regular 24 mg nic liquid but went with 11 mg that I have not used for few months. Thinking: "just in case."
Love how the button to start the Prodigy feels like and that you need to actually push it instead of just touching it. Perfect.
Vapor from 901 using 11 mg was good, but vapor is not that important to me. It is the throat hit I am after much more. With 11 mg, the 901 didn't give me throat hit I could feel. It probably had it, but I am so used to vaping 510 and 24 mg liquid that anything less would be probably difficult to notice.
But I did notice the vapor texture! This is unlike anything else I vaped. While the standard PV can give me enough vapor, some can even give huge quantity of it, the vapor that Prodigy produces has weight and volume. To me, standard PV's vapor was more like a fog or something that could come from a humidifier. The first thought I had when I blew out vapor from Prodigy was -- milk. It was silky smooth and tangible. Great stuff.
Next, I used 24 mg nic. Better throat hit this time, but nothing that I couldn't get from my manual 510 PV. The silky vapor was still there however. And that I was never able to get from 510 PV. For that alone I can imagine using 901 when I feel like slowing down and vaping something mellow. So, no real surprise with the 901. I like it, but it will not be my first choice for vaping. But if I never tried 510 I'd be all over it.
Quick change to 510 adapter and inserting my used 510 atty and cart with the straw modification. This time I didn't even bother with 11 mg nic, just used my standard 24 mg. Thinking all these old-timers describing huge throat hits from 801/901 just forgot what a throat hit from analog really feels like.
I take a nice vape hoping that I'll at least feel something close to what 510 gives out.
After I exhaled and sticked my eyeballs back into their sockets I realized that my juice supply just doubled. I can easily cut my 24 mg liquid to 12 mg.
I was expecting the Prodigy to guzzle the juice fast, but surprisingly it didnt. Or maybe it just felt like forever when vaping my 24 mg nic liquid. But when I finally needed to refil I used my 11 mg liquid. Still getting nice throat hit. So I am thinking that I will be able to switch to 12 - 18 mg nic without a problem. I don't think the throat hit was harsh with 24 mg. It was strong, but the warmth of the vapor made it smooth. Even with the throat hit of 510, the silky vape still tastes like milk. It is extremely nice and does feel like smoking a smooth fine cigarette.
Another surprise: the atty didn't get as hot as with the normal manual battery! Maybe the reason is that I am taking much shorter drags with Prodigy. On the other hand, I am not letting it cool down, so am not sure.
There is one other thing that makes a huge difference. With all the other PVs I have I never know what will the next vape taste/feel like. No matter how consistently I vape, sometimes I get a good vape, sometimes weak. Sometimes there is a throat hit, sometimes not. Manual 510 has the most consistent performance, but I would still take a primer puff even with that just to make sure the thing is working. (Especially with that terrible passthrough that is using a battery!) But with Prodigy, my first hour was completely predictable vape after vape. When I press the button, I know exactly what I'll get. Yes, I am calling Prodigy boring. And it is a good thing! Very good thing!
Congratulations Puresmoker!
