A few things I don't like about the ProVari...

I think the single button interface and 2 character segmented LED is junk. Simple, sure, but not very intuitive. Does it detract from the quality of the vape? Heck no! Will you get used to it? Certainly... But I personally don't care for it.

The 510 connector... Machined beautifully with one big flaw... Because it is flush with the top cap, there are a few devices out there that when screwed down all the way on the ProVari get no airflow at all. I mean you can suck your eyes into your head, it completely seals off... This could have been remedied with a couple of air channels machined into the top cap skirt... But that would take away from the aesthetics a bit.

The powder coat looks nice, but it does wear off, especially on the satin silver.

The battery extension cap is not as nice as the standard cap, and detracts from the look of the device, IMO. I like the look of the stainless machined top cap and machined bottom cap. The matching powder coated extension cap doesn't pop like a piece of machined stainless should. I want to use an 18650 battery but I want to retain that look I get when using 18490's... There are sleeves available that are raw stainless. That looks like pooh on everything but satin silver, and still doesn't look right on them...

I would personally like to see the current limit raised from 3.5 to 5 amps to allow the device to be used with sub ohm atomizers, but that's probably a safety concern.

And while I never "miss" having variable wattage on the ProVari, it's a convenient option, and something I would also like to see on a future model... Not necesarilly with 20 or 30 watt high limits (that's ridiculous) but the standard 3-15 watt variable power would be a nice feature to an already great device.

That's all the gripes I can think of...

And yes, even with all those gripes, it is still, by a large margin, my favorite device!

1. I did not knock the Provari. I could and I can find many flaws about the product, or better yet, reasons why it is not the right mod for me.

My guess is the "flaws" you have found are your subjective opinion. That's perfectly fine, just don't cross the line and try to present your opinions as facts. I completely understand that the ProVari is not a mod you want to own. That pleases me immensely.

2. I only knocked a small % of the Provari population. If you do not fit in that description, it shouldn't bother you, but if you felt a need to respond, then you must be part of that %.

Why do you feel the need to knock anyone for a battery device they own and enjoy, regardless of the brand? I am part of the percentage that finds it offensive when a person makes unnecessary disparaging remarks and in the same breath claims they are entitled to their own opinion, so the person or group being criticized should just take it. Oh, oops, I responded, what percentage am I in now? I'm confused. I hope you show a bit more restraint when expressing your unsolicited opinions to strangers in the real world.

I have done side by side tests with an assorted variety of mods, the provari included, and did not see, feel, hear, or taste anything that proved to me that the provari is in anyway superior.

You don't want one, you've made that clear; you should have stopped there Sparky. Claiming you have done "tests," puts you on shaky ground since nothing you have posted in the thread so far suggests your opinions are conclusions drawn from empirical evidence.

...So my personal experience and my own research and testing, to me, will trump any bias claims and any ignorance or falsehoods you want to try to pass my way.

If that was more coherent it might almost be a non-sequitur. What I've experienced, to me, trumps what you've experienced. Yes? So? And?

Case and point on all the provari douchebaggery that happens in these forums. Like I stated... I never thought it was a bad device. Just that some of the owners are douches, and you proved that point.

Far too often people are unpleasant regardless of the battery tube they own. I'm so glad you have no plans to get a ProVari, for as you just pointed out, we have enough "douches" in our ranks and don't need anymore.

Whatever keeps you off cigarettes, right? Bless your heart. :)

Ah, you caught me. Well, I can't put you down, since all I know about your toys is that two are mechanical and one is a box, right? I think? You must excuse me - I've been far too busy vaping my incredibly superior mods to pay attention to what little kittens are vaping. :D

Oh dear! If the ProVari is outdated, does that mean I'm using a time machine when I vape my Reo? Good God man! A box, a bottle, a battery and an atty , can it be more low-tech? I guess it's even too primitive for China to waste their time cloning. And features? How does zip grab you? No adjusting watts, unless you have - Please Lord don't say it! - a working knowledge of Ohm's Law.* This time next year I'll bet when you ask people about a "Reo" they'll assume you mean the Duran Duran song....

*Just so you know, you can change the watts by adjusting the resistance of the attys you are using.

Amen Amen Amen!!!

Wow... there are people who actually don't like the Provari? WHY?

I got 1... then I had to get another one 2 days later. And are trying to not want a 3rd one... and I've been vaping a whole month and a half so far.
Oh you must get a 3rd. You don't have a backup for your backup yet. ;)

Hi. I just purchased a Provari yesterday and it cost me 219$. I already have heard all the great things about this mod and I hope it lives up to the information that I got on it.

Now, I would love to know. What is wrong with the Provari?

I am sure many people have used it and many people know someone who has. I really want to know how this device fails to measure up to it's reputation as the best pv built thus far.

I know most people would say it's PRICE!

I want to know everything else except the PRICE? Let's have some fun bashing the almighty PROVARI...:2cool:
I get that maybe this was meant to be either cute, funny or sarcastic but I cant help but feel it was thrown in to justify your purchase of "the almighty ProVari."

If you've "already heard all the great things about this mod" then I'm almost certain those same threads covered "What is wrong with the Provari?"

"How this device fails to measure up to it's reputation as the best pv built thus far."............It's ONLY failure is not a failure at all. The things people complain so loudly about can be found in other devices so instead of buying said device it's easier to "have some fun bashing the almighty ProVari!"

Like anything else related to vaping, it's all about personal choice and I wish people would go on and be happy with their choices instead of bashing the hell out of someone else's.
