I don't think the copy you referenced has much to do with Ladysmith Black Mombaso. It is an old African song and , yes, LBM brings the "sound" to it. The Mint Julips are just a modern New York group that brings a nice clarity to the presentation. Of note is that Paul Simon's Graceland album carries much LBM on it.

This the evening where Simon was awarded the George and Ira Gershwin prize for popular song from the Library of Congress. He is the first (yearly) recipient.

Probably more than you all want to know but here is more scoop on that song…per google.

""The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is a song written and recorded originally by Solomon Linda with the Evening Birds in 1939, under the title "Mbube". Composed in Zulu, it was adapted and covered internationally by many 1950s and '60s pop and folk revival artists, including the Weavers, Jimmy Dorsey, Yma Sumac, Miriam Makeba and the Kingston Trio. In 1961, it became a number one hit in the United States as adapted in English with the best-known version by the the Tokens. It went on to earn at least US$15 million in royalties from cover versions and film licensing."

Mbube means lion in zulu.

Paul Simon's Graceland is another favorite.

I just woke up from a nap. I dreamed Provari was open again/still. They had lots of neat new stuff.

I don't remember the rest of it; but the last thing I saw, right before I woke up, was a tube mod that was clear that you could see the battery inside.

They're baaaack…from Doctor Bill! All new guts, screens and buttons . The one in the left is the one I bought for $5 I posted about a week ago. The one on the right has been my daily mod for about 3 years now. I feel like I have two new ones :).

No offense to any of you who now prefer vaping with a Jac…but my Jac cannot replace my minis for me. While I find the two devices give me a very similar vape I so prefer the round shape and the elegance of the Provaris. The Jac is definitely a close second.

The only thing I like better on the Jac is pushing the button 5 times to shut it off vs 10.
