They still grow a lot of tobacco over our way, some fields are located right next to schools even, but in the eleven plus years we have been down here, I've seen a lot of big fields turn into neighborhoods, back up north we used to call that the last crop...
When I moved here in 1998 there were tobacco fields everywhere. Couldn't miss them (my house sits on an old tobacco processing operation and there are still drying sheds out back). Now they are real spotty since the gov't cracked down on tobacco companies. So we're either importing it more or they just added more corn silk to their cigarettes.

Ah, Hallelujah, butchered by so many Reality TV contestants all over the world. LOL.

I've been wanting to post one of my favorite pop bands, Maroon Five (never has a band been so thrilled to enter the pop genre and actually improve by a factor of 100 from whatever heavy metal-ish thing they came from) but the song is set in a SLAUGHTER house, and it's probably the best stalker anthem since Sting and Adam Levine just... sells stalker a little too convincingly. Animal but there is a hot chick in there, nearly naked. I don't think a band exited "deep" music to pop with such an awesome sense of humor, though.

I will throw up a pop artist who has been around a while writes her own stuff, writes stuff for other artists, and is just is a large bundle of fun, seriously, for a long time. LOL.

She is just a lot of fun.... :)

I'm going to unabashedly also admit that Imagine Dragons is my new favorite rock band, while stating that like, the lead singer is just unabashedly one of those folks who is an "I- me- my" to an uncomfortable degree, the album prior to launching them to true fame status is really my favorite. But yeah, they can do it even if their latest album is sped up to an uncomfortable pace and it WORKS but if you sing along you will think (no one can talk that fast) well maybe I could off my meds, but I don't think that's worth singing along to "Believer" for. Etc.

Video has worms in it BTW:

That would be a Leonard Cohen original, redone by Jeff Buckley to much greater effect on I believe his first or second album.

He was considered to be amazingly talented (you should check out some of his other stuff) tragically died too young, I can't remember if it was a suicide think or just some reckless swimming while camping alone or whatnot (something he also apparently did).

I can't listen to that version except if I am prepared to bawl my eyes out.

This morning when remembered the movie I searched for Watchman Hallelujah, and found it. I just watched/ listened to it. It is very good I did not know that the artist had died though. :( I would post it, but it has some sexual situations in the clip, that I don't really want to take a chance of getting in trouble for, but if someone wants to see it it was easy to find. :)

brilliant combination @kas122461
What astounds me about both singers are voices which nobody can touch. Orbison? wow.
@ENAUD Well, this is my first disagree that I can recall, LOL.
It's about time. I deserve more.
That said, who do you think can touch them, especially Orbison?

I honestly don't know for sure where I first heard this, or if this is the artist who played it, it might have been in a movie. Anyway I think it is a good one, worth sharing. :)

This is a very moving song, and this is the most heart wrenching version I've heard. Though, I've got to say I've never really listened to the lyrics before (I just go with the music normally, lyrics are secondary for me) and these lyrics are not some that inspire me. But,who cares.
