Keep the straw 13-15mm. Any other length affects wicking. Also, the vent notches are important, as well. Don't make them too big, only use 2 and don't make any other cuts in the straw. One half of the tea bag is just right for filler. make sure you trim it flush with the cart, no shorter or longer.

What model PV are you using?

I had the tea bag part right. The straw I had to wing it cause I dont have a tape measure that measure's mm just fractions.8-o

The straws I'm playing with now for my 901 I found in the grocery store aisle. They measure about 1/4" in diameter. They're multi-colored and come in a clear plastic bag. They fit the 901 cart fine...

Great mod, Kristin! I've been vaping with this for about four days now and I've gotta tell ya - it's the best PTB mod yet! I love the PTB but have always had a leakage problem. I would walk around with tissue in hand all day to wipe off my 510. But I haven't had one bit of leakage with this mod. And, you're right - it takes 10 drops every time. Your pics were immensely helpful, as well - very easy to follow. This mod should be called...

"PTB for Dummies"!

I've really been loving this mod but could use some advice.
I'm using a 510 w/pg juice.
This mod has been working good for me until recently, seems like I'm getting flooding issues.
In thinking that my juice is too thin, a whole ptb seems too much so I'm trying a half piece w/ another half of a half and after I insert into straw and cutting, I'm pulling it out a bit and making small cuts at the end to sort of 'fluff it up'. I do not trim the part that sits closest to the mouthpiece.
Also, if it makes a difference, I've just started 2 new atty's lately.

Are any of you that use pg using more than a half of a ptb when filling?
Can't figure why I can't seem to get these right anymore. When I get them right, they work great, but lately.. I'm messing these up.
Any advice ?

My liquid is PG. If I get flooding, it's because I've overfilled it.

I usually use nhaler HV, which is very thick, but recently been using another brand that is about 1/2 as thick & very runny. It hasn't leaked at all unless I overfill. I'm stillusing the one i used with the HV - so it's only 1/2 a bag.

How long is your straw? try cutting it 1-2mm shorter.

Also, be sure you're aligning the atty and cart properly.

Finally, are you using a manual switch? Try pressing the button a second or two before drawing, to make sure the liquid is heated enough to vaporize before you draw on it.

Did it start flooding before or after you sgtarted fringing the ends?

Hi all! New member here and just got my 1st ecig! :)

I have a Revolver Elite (which I think is just a branded m702). I'm interested to see if anyone has used this mod with that type of cart. The cart itself seems a lot smaller than the 510 cart and there seems to be an even smaller cart (that actually holds the liquid) inside of the main one. I'm not even sure straws would fit into this little thing and I'm wondering how much PTB I would use on this. Anyone have an idea? or would this mod only be useful for the bigger ecigs?

Yup

yes, I'm using a manual, and I will try that

I've had success with fring/not fring.
maybe I am overfilling, will try not fringing for a while.
also, my attys really make a dent, do you cut back the ptb or is it better wicking if the atty bridge is pushing into the ptb? If I'm overfilling than it seems that the bridge is pushing in and the juice is dumping out.
Also, I seem to have to work at 'flowering this up' once I get the ptb in the cart. Was wondering if anyone uses more than half of a ptb or is that too much thus holding more juice and not releasing it.

thanks for you input Kristin.

I've had the bridge push it all the way in and it still works fine. Just don't overfill it.

If it won't spread out properly, take it out completely, reposition it on your pointed object and reinsert. You may have to wrap it a little on the pointy object. Sometimes I have to redo it a couple times, too.

I have been using this for about a week now. When i first tried it i was using a ry4 all pg liquid with great success! Now i'm trying it with a root beer float liquid 40% vg 60% pg and i'm having problems with it leaking now. Wouldn't my new liquid be thicker? Why is this happening now?
Is it leaking or flooding? Leaking (seaping out of the e-cig at the seams) or flooding (gurgling and getting liquid in your mouth) could be that you're not putting the cart on all of the way, atty isn't screwed in all of the way, aligning the cart right, have too many spaces in the "flower" or overfilling. With flooding, be sure to hit the button for a second (manual) or do a primer puff (auto) to heat the atty a bit before taking a drag.

Sometimes, liquid drips down the sides of the cart when filling/refilling unnoticed and you'll get flooding or leaking. (Had that happen to me.)

Whenever I've had leaking or flooding with this mod, I either overfilled or accidentally dripped down the side of the cart and it got into the vapor vent on the side.

Hope that helps!

PS. I've found that adding extra material just inhibits wicking and flavor. You're better off adjusting the length of the straw or making sure your "flower" is properly spread out.

Leaking from the seam where the cart connects to the atty it's not a lot. just wasn't sure why it didn't do it before i'll have to try less drops. new liquid in a new bottle could mean larger drops i would assume.

I was excited to try this mod because I actually already have 5 or 6 boxes of Pyramid Tea and it looked easy- I studied Kristin's instructions and pictures and thought I had it down- then my kit came and I remembered I had ordered 901 duck bill carts because the place didn't have 510 ones, so on my own I had to figure out how to adjust it by myself using the same system as the 510 was ok but i felt the straw in the 901 restricted space for the material- so tried no straw-tried no straw but a stir straw on the side of the material both ways worked ok but I thought it could be better so I shortened the straw and slit it down the side so the tea bag has more room to spread out- seems to be working good.

the problem I am having is it never goes dry- not with any of the things I tried am I doing something wrong or am I just lucky? (I have been adjusting the "flower" from time to time and adding a bit more juice when i do because I figure it has to need it)

Unless I'm mistaken I believe I've read that the Nhaler HV liquids are mostly VG based, or at least contain quite a bit of it. The only way I can get that much vapor out of my own creations is to add a lot of VG.

I have samplers of most of these and 30mls of a few, and they are very thick.

Going to be trying this mod this weekend, been using many other PTB's just not sure on how big to make the slits on the straw.

Just be careful to avoid polyurethane. The Lipton pyramid teabags are made of nylon, I believe. And they are food-grade and meant to withstand heat.

Went back to wmart to verify composition as I had thrown away wrapping. It is nylon, yea!!! Also saw that they had precut 3" squares 50 per package for $2.75.

Just wanted to give you all an update on my previous question about this mod working in a m702 cart (although it seems like I'm the only one in the world who doesn't have a 510 lol).

I'm pleased to report that this works great in my little 702 carts! ^^ no leaking whatsoever (as long as you don't overfill it). You don't even need any straws at all as the inner carts or so tiny, they hold the PTB in place just fine. I basically just have to remove the inner cart and stuff the PTB inside with a tweezer, cut off the excess and put the inner cart back in. Works great so far ^^ no leaking, good vapor, drains pretty well! ^^
