I can't wait to try out this mod once I get home, I love my 501 for the most part but I'm pretty disapointed that the carts with the stock filling and how there almost useless. My carts never run dry and I get that plastic taste while the top of the cart still looks moist. Its somewhat bothersome to have to pull off the cart and drip onto the atomizer every ten minutes.

If this works as well as people are saying then I'm way excited to do this mod, nice and simple too! I'd love for the extra carts in my pcc to actually be worth something if I'm stuck without liquid on me.

will report back with how well this works for me.

I've made 2 of these for my 510, and all I can say is wow! I've only been using them today, but so far they solve all of the problems I've had. No flooding, no leaking, doesn't seem to bother the taste, uses most of the juice. But the best part for me is the ease of filling, just drip right in! I've been using the ADM for about 2 months and was pleased overall, except when it came time to fill.

If you haven't tried it, then give it a go, well worth it!

Sweet! My 801 has never performed like this before. Once the atomizer gets warm, the vapor comes in big clouds. Mad, crazy vapor and it took me about five minutes. Thanx
Yep, I've found that pressing the button a second before drawing on it (on a manual 510) heats up the vapor a little and it performs even better.

Just came across this thread. I'm a new vaper and was instantly frustrated by the stock poly fill. In desperation I used a similar tecnique and being a fisherman I used what was available. I had just restocked my tackle box for sturgeon season with a new roll of spawn net which is used to wrap salmon roe. Comes in 16' lengths and is 3" wide. The only drawback is that it is bright orange but I havn't noticed any loss of color while using it.

Just be careful to avoid polyurethane. The Lipton pyramid teabags are made of nylon, I believe. And they are food-grade and meant to withstand heat.

Thanks for an awesome mod. Just tried it on my 901 and 510. Works perfect. I was getting so frustrated with the polyfill and this solves it. Thanks again so much.
Good to hear!

Now we have reports that it works well in a 510, 901 and 801 and also with a 510 Xhaler!

Just tried this now....very very easy! I have never tried any of the other mods (they looked to complicated!), so I can't compare....but certainly CAN compare it to the original poly in the carts!!! I was always having to top off with 2-3 drops...even on a fresh cart... after 5 or so puffs, and was getting tired of doing that! I am still working on this one and haven't had to refill after 10! I'll be so excited if I can vape this dry...I've never been able to do that with the other ones- I got the "burnt" warning way before that! Thank you Kristen! I loaded a couple other carts with the PTB and straw and filled them with some of Drew's Blueberry Crumble and Butterscotch....I can't wait to dive into them tonight after the kids are in bed for my "me" time!

I use a 510...and am expecting my Mega battery and passthrough in the mail tomorrow...I am going to be one happy vaper!!!

I have tried this mod with my 901 but I can't seem to find straws that fit correctly. The ones I picked up at wally world seem a little small compared to yours unless the 901 carts are much wider then the 510 which I kind of doubt. When I push the PTB filling into the straw it seems way to tight so either it leaks or doesn't seem to wick very effectively.

If the 901 is wider & straw too tight, you may want to cut the straw a little shorter, so the fabric can spread out more at the top enough to fill the cart opening. The straws I use have a 5mm diameter and the squish a bit on the long sides. You want it a bit tight, so it doesn't get caught on the atty and pull out on refills.

Also, are you using only 1/2 of the tea bag? After emptying the tea, pull the tea bag open at the seams. You'll have a long rectangle. Cut it in half at the fold line in the middle and use juts one piece.

You can also fringe the end. Take out the fabric and snip little cuts (2-3mm) in the open end and put it back in the cart. It's very important that there are no large open gaps in the "flower" (see pics in original post). so you want the layers spread out as evenly as possible or you'll get leaking and flooding.

I know someone else has used it on a 901 - maybe they can tell us what straws they used to make it work!

I'm gonna have to try this mod again, I used it for a while but it wasn't using all the juice, and when i filled the cart I'd have to poke or lift up the filler for the juice to flow down, maybe a little less filler would help the flow of the liquid or my straw wasn't cut right.
Keep the straw 13-15mm. Any other length affects wicking. Also, the vent notches are important, as well. Don't make them too big, only use 2 and don't make any other cuts in the straw. One half of the tea bag is just right for filler. make sure you trim it flush with the cart, no shorter or longer.

What model PV are you using?
