since the ce5 is similar to the stardust if I remember correctly, you can try loosening it a turn on the battery to see if that helps. on my riva/ego batteries, i would file the vent slots down a bit and that helped quite a bit on getting the air flowing.
backing it off the battery has no effect on the draw i will try adjusting the cup

Hey, guys, this is a bit off, but I discovered a great use for the C8s. BTW, I got those as a gift - and THANK YOU to the person who got them for me, you know who you are!

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get anything but dry hits out of them. But they are sooooo pretty. So. I am going to make a pendant for an "industrial" style necklace out of it. It's really easy to do, too - it's got two holes through the "skirt", so all you have to do is string it. Maybe I'll use some drip tips for side beads. :) And you can screw a cone on the top (or bottom as it will end up as a pendant, since it will hang upside-down) to make a really interesting looking construction. It looks really cool.

I may have to think about doing that to one of them Briar.... I got 2 and one works great but the other gets a lot of dry hits... no leaks on either though FWIW

The VV passthough is working great still... love it for the house when I'm recharging my main PV's batteries.

I passed on trying the scorpion and the latest C5... neither seemed to be built for easy cleaning or rebuilding and I had only got the C8V3 because of how well the original C8V1 worked sans the dumping issues I had with it...

It will be interesting to see if I can get a good 3hrs of vape time on the SOLE they just released... currently I have a couple Joytech 510 mini-cig for short outings and perhaps the SOLE will take their place... I still need an small and lightweight auto battery PV that will easily stay in my lips when my hands are busy doing something, the 510 could do it if I were a "biter", but I'm not which is a lot of why an analog pipe never took with me back in the day...

No, no leaks on mine either, just not a single non-dry hit. Not a one. I don't know how to fiddle with a bottom-coil, so I gave up. But they do look really nice.

Same here. I love that thing. Use it all the time. I still have to get a better wall-wart for it, but for now it's working pretty good off of my powered USB hub.

I really like the C5 so far. Haven't had a lot of time using it yet, so we'll see what happens, but the flavor and wicking are outstanding. I hope what other problems it has can be fixed without losing the good parts - it's really, really good vape. Unlike the Scorpion, this one has lots of potential, imho.

I just ordered it (finally got paid!) and can't wait to try it out. It just looks cool. :)

I know what you mean. I am not a biter either - and a good thing, too, my teeth probably couldn't handle it - and I really find it awkward when I am working on my 'puter and vape at the same time (which is all the time). Even the smallest 510 is too heavy. I hope someone goes smaller instead of larger while engineering these things one of these days... It's not like you can hold a Provari or a Darwin from your lips! :D

The VV mini ego PT is fun.
I also promptly lost the wall wart for it. :(
Still works in my car though.

The Scorpion tank still refuses to work even after letting it sit for a few days. I get 2 or 3 airy semi-dry hits and then I get total dry hits.
did you open it upa nd remove the big wick?

I had a carto that got a stiff draw and I stuck a paper click up from the bottom and moved the coil up a bit, something had gotten stuck below the coil and that fixed it. That was on a vision, don't know if it would work the same on a CE5.

update on the scorpion tank.. I removed the Big wick and now it is working fine.. taste is alot better no more wick taste no dry hits. I like the idea of a ce2 with 6 wicks and it works well with just the 6 small ones however the "Scorpion Wick" actually kills the experience.

I fiddled with mine a bit before giving up on them. Thought to try it without the fat wick but I think if you do not at least leave stubs of them in the lower openings you will be prone to flooding and juice in the mouth since there is no seal at the top around the coil. Without the long wick the juice would be free flowing in the center tube. I also unfurled all the smaller wicks. Maybe they would block a free opening but I wouldn't bet on it. It'll be interesting if you don't have issues with this.
Just out of curiosity are the smaller wicks on yours much stiffer (plastic like) than other wicking materials. I kept getting a funny taste out of both of mine and I suspect the wicking materials.

the small wicks are harder then the scorpion wick.. I did have the funny taste as well thats why I removed the big wick.. it went away soon after I didn't do anything to the thin wicks just fluffed them some and put it all back together the way I found it. So far vaping BB and its working great

I tried this with one of mine, and it is flooding and juice coming out through the connector.

I have a ProVari and still use the rocket more. Much lighter and pleasant to handle.

On my rocket I had to file down the top of the plastic case and some of the actual metal socket to get all my stuff to fire. Just a thought, maybe it's bottoming out on the top of the socket before it makes contact on the bottom. I filed mine down until I was able to use my sealed 510 to ego adapter on top. All is wonderful with it now.

Wally... I filed it down a bit first thing when I got this one since I had the same firing issues with my last one. Maybe I didn't file it down far enough?? I think I'll try filing it down a bit more and see if that helps. I also put a thin bead of sealant around the connection at the top but totally forgot about the seam where the two sides of the body come together. I'll have to think of a way to seal that too. Anybody have ideas on what to use to seal that seam??
