It doesn't power on with anything.

If I shake it when it's upside down, I see the lcd turn on but just for a bit.

This little case is nice, I got it for like 9 bucks at sears. What I like is that it doesn't have the hinged top drawer (those are often kind of hinky dinky), instead when you open it, you put the handle out and it functions like a leg and you can put the top thingy nestled into the lid.
And of course I travel with this
yes, but it depends on the cop that decides to look at it, most aren't going to listen to your explanation that you don't have illegal drugs in it. Depends on where you are I guess.
ok guys im seeing the problems that you all had with your rockets, I too had some of this happen to me. What I did to fix it was take the cap off and where the metal peice makes contact on the side of the rocket-- I mean the little copper peice thats on the side, I had to take a small saftey pin and just bend the metal piece in the cap so it would make better contact, it was not making contact all the time, so sometimes it worked good and others were kind of intermitted. I dont know if I explained this very well, but that fixed all my problems with the rocket. Now it works great, have not had any problems since. Hope you all understand what im talking about because I think that it is going to help fix the majority of the problems you all seem to be having, GOOD LUCK ALL !!!!!!!!

My first thoughts upon filling, resting then using the Sole are, where was this little guy back during my Ego maniac days? I'm going on 3 days of it being by my side whenever I head out the door, and today I feel confident enough that I will not be bringing a backup device w me. I was really expecting the little batt to run out of gas long b4 it actually does.

Well it seems to have of finally happened. We have reached the end of our quite intensive relationship. Last night for no apparent reason, it just stopped responding. It did start to act up in ways that other members have described, such as randomly resetting to 3v w/o being touched. I tried installing a fresh set of AWs to no avail. I will give it a bit more investigation today but I'm pretty sure its over.
Now that all is said and done, for the price its amazing how much use I got out of it. For weeks it never left my pocket. In its defense I did drop it 4' onto a tile floor a few days ago, so that prob contributed.
Summary : The same as everyone else. If the unsealed body was fixed and we had a better overall experience as a group, I would say go with it. Until those things are addressed I think it has to be a no.

I Had this sort of problem with my Rocket as well. Turning it upside down the LCD would flicker, my problem was with one of the batteries, the battery itself would rattle, apparently loose contact internally. Bought new batteries and unlike many my rocket is still going strong even after all the abuse I give it.
Similar issue with mine lately. I thought it was a loose wire in the top head but now I am leaning toward bad battery connections. Shake it a little from side to side. If you hear the battery rattling in there pull up on the base cap spring to tighten things up. Been working for me. They really need to do something with that bottom cap. This eventually reoccurs. Yesterday I stetched that spring up almost to the point of ripping it out and it's working well for the time being.

So I popped it open and took out the extra wick of silica as stated earlier in the thread. I think so far this may be a success. Its literally a night and day difference. No burning taste, lots of vapor production and so far no leaks. Not sure If I would buy them as one of my normal tanks but in a pinch or if all my normal tanks are full and I want to start a new one I think these will work great.
So take out the extra wick and these things are good to go!

FWIW. Bear in mind that the fat wick in the bottom holes of that tube are all that's keeping the juice from proceeding up the tube out the mouthpiece. If your not getting leakage at the moment it's probably because the smaller wicks are bunched up enough in the tube to kinda give a seal. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you don't get a mouthfull of juice. There is no silicone seal around the coil area like most other top coils.
Nah. It still quit on me this morning. Gave the head a very light tap and it worked again so who knows. What we do know is they have to step up the quality on these a bit before they are thrown to the dogs.
Anyone else notice the rockets have totally disappeared from the site? Not out of stock or sold out, just gone.
There was only one silver and one green in stock the other day. I believe they are gone for now.
Some of the other alphas disappear like that.
Yeah I was going to go back and edit my post to make sure anyone else that does this to do that. They are at the base as you mentioned. So as long as they stay there no issues leaking or anything. 3.1 Ohm @ 4.5+ Volt will start to give a burn taste which is kinda disappointing but sure that is how all top coils / non cartos go.
Which ones are you talking about? All the other alphas that I know of just show out of stock or sold out where there are no more available.

I could be wrong but I believe the dongles disappeared also before they got the second batch. I know some items have because I was surprised as well to see that. After all it is Alpha and not a regular stock item. If I am wrong I'm sure Dan or Chris will jump in.
Main reason I mentioned it was to bring it to their attention just in case it was an inadverdent mistake

I agree for 3 dollars it is a good backup tank but it would never be my go to tank nor would I pay retail for it. The big wick is what makes the scorpion tank the scorpion tank ( 6 legs and a big tail) and as that it is a failure but take the tail off and it works okay.
Ahh, I see where you are going with that now. Not a problem for me though. There is a special sort of magic in the south (not to sound too arrogant) when you work for a university and get to add extra letters to your name
Universities down here are for the most part NOT at all liberal like in other places. So mostly you get the benefit of the doubt. Also, in my neighborhood specifically, my husband is the absolutely only white person in this neighborhood, and we are pretty well known because when we bought the house, he got hassled ALOT for "driving while white". After a few massive complaints were filed, cops have pretty strictly left us alone.- Status
