Got my C9 today, and the pre-installed wick had something brown and crusty all over it. Don't know what it was, but it triggered my gag reflex just looking at it, so there was no way I was gonna try to clean it. I'm not particularly squeamish about germs and such, but that really ooged me out. I removed it from the base like I was removing a rat from a trap - holding it as far away from my body as possible and trying not to look directly at it - so I obviously didn't get a very good look at the way it was installed. I assumed that the ends of the wire would wrap around the screws, but it looks like they go down into the two posts, and then the screws tighten to hold them there. Is that right? That would mean cutting the ends of the wire short before installing rather than after, which makes me nervous. Hoping for a little guidance from my fellow Alphalphans.

Just took mine apart and the legs of the coil is about as long as the tube they go in so if you make them a little shorter you should be ok.

Greensound SOLE eLips 360 Kit:

Received the SOLE 5-6 days ago.

I usually like to wait at least 2-3 weeks before commenting on a product but two nights ago I enlarged a slot-cut on the tank cartomizer... it truly made a tremendous difference.

First impression from the cheap factory packaging: well.. ’cheap’. I didn't have must enthusiasm or think that I would be at all impressed but as soon as I took the SOLE out of its packaging, that all changed.

I was taken-back at how incredibly light the entire system is but it doesn't feel cheap or poorly made in any way.

The SOLE has a smooth, very nice angular feel to it... and did I mentioned the lack of weight?

tank system is a bit unique due to its thin, micro one piece ‘cartytank’ and plug-in connection (which attaches firmly to the battery; solid little set-up).

Drip-tip is a bit like the CE5's, smooth flattened design that I just prefer over most. The tip snaps firmly in the tank which also extends into the carty.

Filling the tank is simplicity in itself. Holds about 1.2ml (about 40 drops after priming the cart. *Priming this cart is critical).

Zero leaks. Crisp ‘clicky’ button

First fill, vap & taste... another pleasant surprise. Very clean taste and good vapor out of the box.

I tested it at 3.8 volts and the carty is 3.0ohm (2.8ohm 5 days ago).

After few days, started to get some dry hits and it got progressively worse. So I needed to fully open & slot-cut the carty on this supposedly non-rebuilable/sealed tank.

Realized from the start that carty hole was too small and would need to be ported but needed to find out the stock pro's & con's first in order to update here.

Separating the clear tank from the black plastic base connector (this base also holds the carty) was easy enough, but the tank is thin so you need to be careful.

Made a slot-cut in the carty, over the all too small existing pin hole, cleaned out everything and reassembled (resealed the clear tank to the black base with a hair thin line of glue)

The SOLE now works exceptionally well.

The battery life is what you expect for a 360mah, short, and is the only real draw-back (once you slot the carty).

Other thoughts:
I think the SOLE will sell very well and with only a few minor changes (multiple holes or lager hole in the carty and possibly two batteries in the kit) it could have huge potential to be one of the better ecig kits for beginners who would easily take-to this feather weight, one piece “cartytank” system.

It would also be great for seasoned vets as a stealth pocket vap. You could place two SOLES (with tanks full of juice) in a suit’s front pocket and forget that they are even there.

This is amazing, my thoughts exactly. This has great potential with your modification.

Now I need a dremmel to make slot cuts, also I can't seem to punch a carto worth a dang with my saddle valve (it works but warps the body of the carto leading to too many leaks).

Hey guys.. haven't been around much but wanted to leave a couple comments about two of my alpha purchases. Not sure if the Rocket is dead or not, but I'm starting to have the same issues a lot of others have had. I really love this thing, ruined my first one and bought another because I liked it so much. It's been performing fantastically for 3 or 4 weeks now.. no issues at all. I'm very careful not to use anything that has any possibility of dumping juice all over it so I'm relatively certain that didn't happen. I keep it somewhere around 4.2 volts and now it's randomly kicking itself down to 3.0. It will let me crank it back up, but it shouldn't do that. Crappy electronics?? I don't know, but disappointing.

The Apollo battery, I'm enjoying this one. I got the 900mah purple one, and it's more blue than purple but performs quite well. Charged lasts a good long time and it seems to deliver a little more punch than some of my other Ego type batteries. It fits perfectly in my hand and I really like the colored bands that light up.. a little bling is a nice touch. The tank... ehhh, not thrilled. I haven't met a clearo yet that would replace my carto tanks but maybe it was just the juice I put in it. The problem is, I have a hard time parting with 6mls of juice in something I'm not sure I'll like using. Seems like no matter how much I tip and swirl, I get dry hits and who likes that?? But it looks darn cool so I'll give it another shot.

I love this! So you did not have any leaking or gurgling after you slotted?

Well at least you didn't ask for a mod.. lol
I see first i need to buy something so I will shop the store. Then I'll do my PM request. Thx for your help.
Let me give you all a short intro just to be proper.
I am a college student at Drexel, I am an advanced computer database administration major and can write in HTML. I understand the molecular make up of PG and VG. I have working knowledge of electric, and how it works pertaining to resistance, voltage, and amperage. I also have constructed custom mods from scratch. Lots of fun! :)

And once your in you are going to have to send each of us 10ml of juice.

Finally started playing with the CE9 today. So far, "eh". I'll definitely be playing with it some more before drawing any conclusions though. Absolutely not something for anyone not willing to tinker a bit though.

I'm going to attempt long wicks that thin out on both sides of the coil, and twist them together and try to get that through the feeding needle. I can't imagine how anyone knows what's happening to the "stuffing" in there when closing this thing up??

The connector on this is the first one I've had to cause a short. I am using an 901-510 adapter, but it's worked fine for almost a year with a variety of 306 and 510 atties plus plenty of 510 cartos. May be time to finally fix the 510 connector on this mod and try it there instead. 2.2ohms screwed in loosely, 0.1ohms screwed in just a little more

My tube wasn't cracked with mine. Filled it up, gurgled spit hot juice, kept leaking. Kept wiping everything down and attempting to vape. Even at less than 1/4 full still flooding, spitting and leaking. Got it empty and pulled the silicon cap out, extra little wick that had been laying on top came with it. Voila!!! the coil/post piece is just set into the bottom and is loose and can be wiggled from side to side. No wonder I had juice all over the place!!!!! Don't know why they would put in a replacable push in style coil/post when this is clearly not a modular device. Can't get it through the top, too big and can't get the tube off to get it out from the bottom (At least I can't) At this point I don't trust it enough to try to sit the post in more firmly.

With the stardusts and mini nova already available, I'd give this one a thumbs down.

Was easy took ten minutes. Runs on a 1000Mah 123 battery. No voltage adjustment battery gives 3.7 volts, I adjust the ohms of the coil. 1.7 up to 2.4 ohms is the sweet range. Plus I got that nice master off switch st the bottom. The other nice thing is I can buy a battery at most any store, but the deals are on e-bay. Just got 6 for 6 bucks. :)

Nice wish i could make one but I don't have the patience.
