Out of curiosity, how much effect does a battery have on the performance of any device? I like to have my vaping equipment be small and slim so I stick with the Twist, but sometimes I wonder if my lackluster experiences with clearos and tanks that other people feel are the bomb are due to using a twist and not some other battery. For some reason though I ust don't like looking/feeling like I have a deactivated lightsaber in my hand when I'm vaping.

...and in the case of a mechanical mod, voltage loss between battery and connector, not all mechanical mods work like the next.

Thanks brother, I appreciate it. I've scaled back my hobbies tremendously since my health issues became serious, which was about 7 years ago. I had helped my folks get a '98 Corvette (red, manual transmission of course) because they liked to tell everyone that when I came along, they had to sell theirs, heh. So anyway that got me REALLY into cars and I was learning mechanic-type stuff and was detailing cars on the side for extra cash.

All that ended when I became too weak to walk for more than 10 minutes and spent all day near a toilet. Several major surgeries later and I've still got problems. The financial issues that have hit my family (several things all at once) are really taking their toll. I can't eat like a "normal person" anymore (no stomach, total gastrectomy) so vaping is how I satisfy the frustrated foodie inside my brain that is screaming all the time. Used to be active with music (bass player primarily, but I fiddled with keyboards and lots of other stringed instruments) but THAT ended with carpal tunnel issues.

Dealing with all the tiny fiddly bits of vape gear is simultaneously fun, painful, rewarding, and frustrating. I'm a nerd/gearhead/dork at heart so I LOVE trying new things, hence my participation in Alpha. But sometimes, man, I just wanna enjoy some flavor and take my mind off of how crappy things are.

Thanks for letting me vent, gang! I hope I haven't derailed the thread too badly. If so, many MANY apologies.
Sending ya much love and understanding. Being on disability myself I can relate to the stress that one check a month can bring with it.

I know I can tell when my PS Legacy needs a cleaning... but other than that... I've got two E-Power 14650's, two Bolt's and the PS Legacy, all cleaned up... all using freshly charged batteries and using an 2.5 ohm Evod on a 510-eGo adapter... not any difference between them. I certainly don't consider the EPower or Bolts to be very high end and they aren't modded in any way other than some new switches on the Epower's.

The difference in voltage transfer on a mech mod is not the same as one with a regulated output, so you can get a difference in actual response from your carto/atty or whatever you are using. There is a lot more to a mech mod in that transfer than you would think. My mods are all clean, in fat my Silver Bullet just came back from being professionally cleaned and polished yesterday. So I a testing a new mod against a new mod. The ChiGG I am using is also a week old, you can tell a marked difference between them. Same battery, same Raven setup, just bouncing from one to the other. My first hit on the Blade was much harder than I was getting from the Raven on the other mod, so I started bouncing for a few hours to see if it was just me excited about having a new toy or an actual difference. It's a real difference, one I can pick up on at least.

I'm able to use the same battery between the Bolt and the Legacy... but not the Epower ( of course ) ...

Since I've been repairing electronics since I was a kid ( and professionally since 1978 )... I do all of that myself. I'm only using about 1.7a and 7w... something that tiny wire that comes in the Bolt can easily handle and would have been the only reason I'd see a difference in the ones I'm using. The Legacy is a pure mechanical and can handle more amps/watts than the battery or any coil can handle... so the only way it degrades is when the contacts or threads get corrosion or gunked up with e-liquid etc.

It is about the power ( watts ) you prefer to vape at and whether or not your PV can provide enough voltage to the amount of ohms ( resistance ) the device you have chosen... More than likely, a Twist or Spinner can get you to the voltage you'd like... then the only issue becomes how long the battery will last at that setting.

This reason right here is why I really really want A VW robust line.

If anyone was wondering, the ravens fit fine in tanks that take 'xl' cartomizers. Swapped it in in place of a boge carto with rapidly climbing resistance and it has been hitting like a champ :)

(I much prefer my pyrex tanks, and this one holds about 7ml.) Added bonus, no need to punch holes or mess around with it.. just shove it in, prime it and go.

Nope......you're not alone, I love my big mods ......but for those who do want to keep to the smaller sizes, it would be nice if they could have the option of vw. I really like the looks of the Robust, but haven't bought any simply because it doesn't have vw.

I love my large APV just not in public. Already been pulled over twice for spurious activity and had to produce a speech. Be nice to have VW in the car, but Alas not here...

Even had an older lady tell my it was shameful of me to do my drugs out in a parking lot (that one hurt)

And wal mart security pull me in to show video proof of illicit activity (in my car in the lot) as I was detained
LOL ciggie look alikes only out and about now tell you what.
For now watt is too much hassle out there. :glare:

Holy :censored:!
I vape my Provari in my car and the grocery store parking lot AND the school parking lot every day and no one's ever said a word. If anyone said anything, I'd react appropriately. My "appropriate" reaction to that "drug" comment would have been a might bit ugly. {{{Sweet Owl}}}

Yah. I was using my vamo w/ a big tank and colorful drip tip in line at a concert. One of the people in line said I was ballsy (cops+k9 were across the street) so I told him to f--- off. After that he wanted info on where to get this stuff so he could quit smoking.. (It was 430 in the morning, we had just gotten our coffee together and I wasn't in the mood for stupid. Probably could have been nicer about it.)
