I really wasn't gonna do it, but order placed. Got one of the new carto thingys... and as long as I'm at it anyway, and paying shipping.. I ordered another red Rocket :laugh::laugh: I will NOT be tearing this one apart.. not for nuthin! I know how to seal around that top without taking it apart so that will be my first project. I've really, really missed that Rocket.. and since I ruined my last one, I've got spare batts for it now!!! Pretty excited!

I bought one of those when they first came out called the Varistack and have been really impressed with it's hand friendly features. Have many VV units but the VariStack is the most comfortable and convenient to use of the lot. Only problem was the originals were only 2amp so mine is very limited in what I can use on it. Pretty sure the later models are at least 2.5amp units.

GV,

Are you going to bring the Smoktech vivi to alpha? The Smoktech not Vision.

 I just went to charge batts on my woundermus RED rocket
(that had been sitting all lonely on the table for days, cuz I have been using the C8 on egos instead)
& the batts are all covered in juice  I had used it for awhile today &
I think I had used it a few times last night while filling C8 & mixing juice etc...
I don't remember putting ViVi on it today tho
So that means I probably just forgot to remove it last night ...damits !!!

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS....
remove carto/tank/whatever may hold juice from BATT if NOT in USE !!!!

I had/have NEVER SEEN any leaks from the ViVi Nova .....murphy's law sucks .
kicking-dirt.gif

I guess I'll try to swish some 92% iso in it and let it dry out ...& hope for the best .

GLAD to hear you ordered a NEW one lovinit ...:)I will miss mine if it bites it too.

On the C8 front ...I'm on tank 6 or 7 & it is still working good ....
and on the Scorpion front ...
I am still using the one that has a solid tube (w/glued cracks & zebra tape)& IT still works really well too .

One has to be particularly careful with that PV as any leaking goes directly into the electronic. When you do your Isopropyl flush be careful to keep it off the colored part of the Rocket as it will peel the paint if left on too long. I have an ugly Zebra from not paying attention but it cleaned the inside after several flushes.

Edit: FWIW I've since used a short plugged 510 extension pushed through a piece of Saran Wrap type plastic sheeting before screwing it into my VariStack. Trim the Saran Wrap around the top to act as an umbrella should one of my units leak.

vv rocket update ....well it was still working ,
but I felt the need to try to get the juice out of it .

So I poured 91% Iso into it ,with a shot glass under it ...
& poured iso back into it after it leaked out ....a few times
& had a paper towel to dry it ...
the paint came off in a few spots & it "crinkled" the paint down one side
oh well, so I went ahead & trimmed the excess plastic off the top
& then laid a thick coat of nail polish around the top of the connection,
and after checkin' in on the drying process
I can see where it sunk down in 'round the connection & the side seams
so it MAY seal those spots ...I hope !

....I did check b-4 paint job & It is still working :D just NOT as pretty as it was ......

So I guess you guys must of missed the memo, but all of the major threads that I was a part of were supposed to be temporarily suspended while I was on hiatus. Have you any idea how much reading I just had to do to get caught up? No where in the Alpha rules did it say anything about needing to know how to read. I'm going to chock this up to a simple oversight on your parts, and given my present state well let this one slip. DONT let it happen again, or I may be forced to use the caps lock button, and nobody wants that.

Ok now that we've got that out of the way, I am sitting at my PC in a new drafting chair, like a big boy. The boss got her laptop back so I'm free to play as time permits. It is amazing how much progress occurs overnight everynight. 2 days ago I couldn't take a single step w/o a walker, and I just went out to dinner w the fam without even a cane. I have a brace that literally resembles a saddle, and am able to get up and down and walk under my own power. From this point on I am confident it is pretty much business as usual, but on light duty.
Thanks again for all the well wishes. Tomorrow I will dig into my new Ce8 thingys and see what the deal is.
Hello to all the newcomers that have arrived since my little vacation, welcome to the party. Happy Friday Alpha peeps.

Yay Ken! Congrats on your (continuing) speedy recovery. You wearing one of those braces that press on your sternum & pubic bone with the strap across your back that you have to 'crank' tight as you can stand it?

There are programs that can actually read it to ya called text to speach programs.... go figure, technology can help you be lazy and all of that

Kind of, its like a 1/2" thick solid plastic frame that wraps 3/4 of the way around me, and its almost as tall as my back. It then has a fabric covering that spans the whole way, then the strap that locks me up like a tree trunk. They dont make one this big so they custom made it. It literally looks like a black horse saddle. Its pretty cool.

I dont need any help being lazy, Ive had 2 yrs of practice. I used to be one of those guys who couldn't sleep at night unless I worked 8-10 hrs to burn off energy. I had to get over that real quick. I cant wait to get back to being a productive human being.

Welcome back Ken, and glad to hear you're recovering so nicely!! I hope you'll be able to get rid of the brace eventually.
Thanks, me too. I will be on a intensive PT schedule as soon as they say go, so I'm ready.

I'm liking my vv rocket too....smaller than my lava tube, lighter weight....but battery life of 2 18350s isn't as good as 1 18650 I'm finding. Scorpion tank was a bust for me, did not vape as well as other carto/tanks & on one the plastic tube separated in my pocket while half full making a juicy mess of my jacket pocket :( any one else have that problem? ordering one of the ce5s to try...missed out on the ce8s due to cash flow issues, sigh. maybe next time.

I was happy with the vape and flavor. Tanks were the issue for me. If they had a stardust tank I would buy em.

but battery life of 2 18350s isn't as good as 1 18650 I'm finding.

This is because the batteries are in series which combines the voltage but not the capacity... so the voltage is doubled but the capacity remains the same. If the batteries were setup in parallel, then the voltage would stay the same and the capacity would double ( almost the same as a 18650 would have more or less ) but they couldn't use them as a VV unless they used a different type of electronics ( buck/boost )
