So far I am having a tough time getting the C8 to work for me. I have another I will give a shot to, but the first is a disappointment. Especially since it is very nice looking!

I have tried it with the plug, without the plug, with a half plug, blowing, sucking, shaking, etc. Nothing seems to let it wick well enough to give me more than 1 or two good draws. And even those have some off taste to them. I am trying so hard to get through a tank so I can see if they will get a little looser with time, but that may take me forever!

I will keep on trying and fill the other one in the next couple of days and see how it does.

That is all for now! Hope you are all doing fantastic!

This is because the batteries are in series which combines the voltage but not the capacity... so the voltage is doubled but the capacity remains the same. If the batteries were setup in parallel, then the voltage would stay the same and the capacity would double ( almost the same as a 18650 would have more or less ) but they couldn't use them as a VV unless they used a different type of electronics ( buck/boost )

yes but they should be fairly even because the voltage is higher on the rocket so you don't have to keep upping the amps to keep the voltage steady as the battery drops.

i have 10 or more tanks through, they don't seem to get much better, but lowering the voltage a bit seems to be the best compromise.

OK, after three days with my Rocket I wanted to give my first impressions of it.

First off, the packaging is really cool. I know that has very little, if anything, to do with how the product works but first impressions are pretty important. After that, it was a nice surprise to find the batteries charged and ready to go. I ordered a black one, but they were out so I went with silver.

I topped the Rocket with an old version of the Stardust...obviously an eGo adapter had to be used. In terms of ease of use, it just cannot get any simpler than this. Five click on/off and the 6 second cut off will come very naturally to eGo users.

With the old school Stardust, this thing is a little fog machine. I have noticed that many of the previous responses regarding how hot the Rocket is, hold true for me as well. I vape my eGo Twist at 4.2 volts...the Rocket's sweet spot for me is 3.9. I have noticed no drop in performance as the Rocket is used either.

As far as how it works, thus far I have zero complaints. I'm quite impressed.

A couple of issues however have presented themselves. After only three days of heavy use, the silver paint is already wearing off. Not a huge deal to me at all, as I wanted black anyway. Also, when standing up, the bottom cap seems to be a little rounded. It seems very easy to tip the Rocket over if stored in this manner.

Also, I do worry about the battery cap a bit in terms of longevity. It has two grooves that a little lip has to fit into, then twists into place with a simple 1/4 turn. It seems to me that a simple screw on cap would have been the better option in this matter.

All in all, the Rocket is quite a nice little PV for the newcomer into the VV market, or the experienced user who wants something they don't have to worry about replacing if it gets banged up or lost or something. It's quite an impressive little vapor producing machine! Of course function has always meant more to me than form, so your mileage may vary.

Been testing the rocket out for a bit now. I'll have more to report after more experience, but here are my initial impressions:

1. Gets hot, as mentioned before.

2. Build quality isn't great. I'm getting some slight seperation at the top near the threading, right out of the box.

3. Voltage seems to be off. I don't have a meter, but I was testing it in comparison to my Lavatube. I used the same Vivi Nova with a 2.4 ohm head on both devices. Set to 4.2 volts on both devices. The lavatube was a nice warm vape. The rocket was hot and tasted like burnt death. I dialed it back to around 3.6 and got the same vaping experience as the Lavatube at 4.2.

4. I will say this thing packs quite a bunch of punch for a little VV mod.

Regarding filling these Ce8 clearos... I skimmed over many pages to get caught up, specifically looking for filling tips and didnt see any. Have we come to a consensus on filling upside down or just go at it straight up?

Ken, I do mine upside down. I've heard of others filling them 'right-side' up, but I've never done it that way.S

Ken,

Bottom coils are typically filled upside down... This is because the air is mostly vented through the coil area at the bottom. Because of this, if this is a refill, there are times that some juice still resides in the coil area when you start to refill and it may get pushed out the tube... so a napkin or similar is probably wise when refilling. Flicking it similar to a thermometer will help avoid some of this but not all.

This is typical of a PWM ( pulse width modulation ) type of mod like the Rocket ( and many others ). A standard VV will have a fixed voltage output, a PWM will pulse the voltage ( full volts of the batteries and then no volts ) to average the voltage to the amount selected... LordDavon has explained it better in his review of this one ( can be found on YouTube if you are interested )

What am I doing wrong with the scorpion? All I get are dry hits unless I take off the top and put 2 drops on the coil.
The liquid is just not going up the wick.

The scorpion has a lot of wick to fill... you need to set it aside after filling it for quite a while before you vape it... I didn't try this one out myself, I'm just passing on what others have said in this thread already.

ARGHHH!!!!

My old faithful leak-free Vivi Nova just dumped half a tank of juice INSIDE my Rocket!

Off to clean it....hope it survives.

Sounds like you can probably save the rocket, but any idea why the vivi dumped? Was it maybe cuz the tank wasn't screwed on to the ring all the way? I check this a lot ever since I dumped a tank of juice in my lap by not making sure I was grabbing the ring rather than the tank to take it off the batt when I first got mine.
