Wolcen, whats up? Welcome to the land of Alpha....

I have not received my Ce9 yet either, however I am an eGo t expert... I used to remove the second small plastic piede inside the mouthpiece to increase flow. Also I used to "pump" the tank, meaning slide it up and down 3-4 times without removing it from the atty, basically sliding it up and down on the spike and that would aide in wicking greatly. I got in the habit of doing this every 5 draws or so and it worked well. Like I said I dont have this item yet. :2c:

EDIT: Ok guys I just went to GV and looked at the pic... Remove the first small plastic piece at the mouth end and keep for re-installation. Then remove the next one down and throw it away. Replace the first one and vape better. Also as I mentioned above (without looking at the spike/wick) definetly try the slide up and down trick with the tank on the spike to help wicking.

I had wondered about the liquid delivery on these ....
when I saw the pic I could not see a wick in the "spike" like we used on EGO-T's,
but assumed we were gonna need 'em .

Even with the coil differences between these two devices ...the liquid still had to get there .
I don't see how the juice could get thru the spike & drop on the wick otherwise *...
Be aware that it might over wick if you let it sit long tho with wick in tank*.
I always trimmed my wick even w/the top of the spike on T's, that may be all that is needed here too.

I THINK, if memory serves...but then again...
this issue may have been resolved long ago & I am just not aware of the fix
...I do not have a CE9 yet & even tho I probably have 5-6 ego-t's, I have not used them in over a year ....so I maybe WAY OFF here

I filled the tank B4 I went to bed and after laying on it's side all night, the tank is still full and I got great hits first try this morning.
I'd have to say the TH's are allot stronger than I like, don't know why yet.
And I'm getting a tinny metal like taste but it could be a break in thing???

Now I remember why I gave up on the ego-t and ego-c and all the other tank cart crap. Been messing with this for about ten minutes now. Can not get it to feed a drop. If I was not priming the heck out of the wick I would be getting nothing. As it is I am getting next to nothing. My throat, nostrils and lungs hurt from the burning dry hits. It is also reading only 1.6 ohms. Way too hot for me. I'll probably rewick it over the weekend but that does not solve the no feeding issue. Anyone else have the no juice feed thing going on? Thank God I had the taffy to soothe my throat.

OK first shipment today... Vaped a lot of juice, feeling a little green, throat burns (ce9's fault) Here are my thoughts...
* I took the whole thing apart right away. The first piece is the terrible tank, pull it out, simple. The second section is the screw on surround for the tank, when this is removed you can see the puncture/wick portion that goes in to the tank. This area was filled with silica wicking in tiny pieces everywhere. The whole feeder wick was a mess and looked just bad. I cleaned that out and pulled the wick out to try to make it one solid clean looking piece. The next level down (there is a part that separates below the bottom and second to bottom diamond textured sections) is the coil wrapped wick. The picture from the alpha site shows it perfect, the wicking is a mess in there too.

Well DrOckW made me realize what my C9 is lacking. I thought it was strange when I looked at it. There was no feeder wick at all in my piercing post. None! not even a sliver of wicking. Duh! No wonder it won't feed. I'll try fishing something in there today and give it another shot. Although I have grown very inhale shy of this thing.

Wow - great feedback in here - thanks for the upgrade danno :toast: (CE9 & Bully now on order)

Totally seeing how that tank on the CE9 would need a feeder of some sort (yes, of course, I'm thinking COTTON :p). Can the top portion of that atty be mounted directly on the bottom without the middle (tank piercing section) in there? Anyone know if those are standard tank size - they look it, but I haven't any others to try. I might stop in the local place - I know they have eGo-T's there.

On the 510-T, if I were to draw a few times before hittin the switch, it would help feed the wick too - does drawing on these CE9's net any air bubbles in the tank for you (any change with a wick added)? [Of course, the in/out maneuver of the tank itself would help as much/more]

Great time to be a vaping tinkerer - keep the great toys coming! :)

First Question: Can the top portion of that atty be mounted directly on the bottom without the middle (tank piercing section) in there?
I tried that, the threads are different. However the tank piercing spike can be removed and you can use it without a tank completely as a dripper.

Second Question: Anyone know if those are standard tank size - they look it, but I haven't any others to try. They are standard tanks, I have used a few old ones I had left from an ego-t experiment last year.

Third question: On the 510-T, if I were to draw a few times before hittin the switch, it would help feed the wick too - does drawing on these CE9's net any air bubbles in the tank for you (any change with a wick added)?
It might net bubbles, but you can't see it because there is a long metal sleeve that covers all but the top section, much like the cone on the eGo T.

The only issue I see with the in/out maneuver (can't believe I just typed that) is that you have to adjust the wicking to make that work. If the wicking is over the top of the spike than you're just breaking off silica in your juice and tank. The inserting the wicking in to the tank has been suggested as a solution.

On the upside, no leaking :)

SO my next thought on this, is the feeder wick from the spike supposed to be continuous and come strait off of the coil wick? Like should it be one long wick?

All of the wicking looks tattered and abused.. Now this may be on purpose or it may be that we just need to redesign the system.

I am trying this again, but this time working with the wick set below the spike instead of using the spike as a way to insert the wick in to the tank to see if I get better results.

I can get some bubbles in my tank if I cover the air hole on the side of the first diamond textured grip. This creates vacuum and "primes the pump" per se.

Out of the box juiced it up removed the plastic pc as mentioned earlier. Primed the wick assembled put it on a PV and.... Absolutely nothing. Opened it up and one side of the coil snapped as soon as it got 3.3v to it. Ok lets put another wick in, Redo... Fired it up and..... Absolutely nothing. Opened it up and one side of the coil snapped as soon as it got 3.3v to it. Ok this is not gonna work, new approach please.
I wrapped my own coil with 32 ga Kanthal and 3 mm Silica wick. Primed reassembled and... I got 1 great hit!! Ok maybe 2. Then guess what? No juice was getting to my wick. So I opened it up and took a pc of 1.5mm Silica and sent it down thru the spike, under the wick and back up over the side of the coil. This shirley will wick juice. ("Dont call me Shirley").
Its working well. I like the draw its perfect IMO. Flavor is good, if you can ignore the plastic taste of the tank.
Final answer: This is for experienced rebuilders/modders/advanced tinkerers, not the general public

Okay, I couldn't recall if the spike should have had a wick in it or not. It seemed to me like they did in my memory, but I wasn't sure. I have plenty of wick that's usable in my graveyard, so I'll try that trick mentioned earlier.

As for the tanks, the old type A plastic tanks DO fit! They're a little tighter, or the ones I have are, but they're otherwise the exact same length and I was able to snap one in. It's just tougher to get them in and out which will cause problems trying to pump them.

I have some Phoenix work to do today. Just got a new batch and several are overstuffed with wick. *sigh*

I received mine today. I tried to roll mesh around some silica for the wick, but it ended up too thick. I pulled out the silica and re-rolled the mesh. So mine is wicking from the tank to the coil with just SS mesh. I let it sit about 5 minutes and so far it is working great. The draw is a bit hard, but I like this as I have no leaks and alot of vapor. Flavor is great also.
Not sure if this has been asked, but is GV planning on selling replacement tanks and stoppers?
This has to be one of the best Alpha products yet.

Well this stinks! :( Sent to the wrong city. Probably no chance they'll get it back to mine and out for delivery at this point. :(

just a thought from playing with my pretty new appolo tank i think the bottom piece should be knurled or something. Ive had it get stuck on the battery where the tank would unscrew and i couldn't get the base off the batt without pliers. Not sure why it stuck i didn't tighten it down hard or anything lol

Got more vapemail today. I got my CE9 and extra wick, also got one of the free E3s. The E3 did have some hairline cracks but seems to work without any leaking so far. I have tried the CE9 yet as the wick was all messed up when I got it, and man its awfully tiny screws for these old eyes. Digging up the magnifying glass and will attempt replacing it later, will try and feed the wick into the tip as someone suggested earlier. Also this thing quite heavy, seems solidly built.

Also received my Hyper SRT and the E1 ReLoad and some juices. The Hyper had the coil wire broken from the post so gave it my best shot at recoiling it (again very small for these old eyes) but was very successful with replacing it!!! this thing works GREAT. No dry hits and has good flavor and lots of vape. Will check back when I re-coil and wick the CE9. For now resting my fingers and eyes and enjoying my Hyper.

Just an FYI. I have discovered that the filling syringe sent out with the Phoenix BC's fits right down into the metal tank on the CE9. I was looking for a way to make a tank that holds more liquid. Maybe better minds than mine can exploit this finding. I am still working on it....

On the 5 piece CE9... the tank you are suppose to fill is also the mouthpiece... the spike is suppose to feed liquid into the chamber below where the coil and wick are located but I don't believe this chamber is suppose to be filled unless I'm mistaken.

That would be an interesting mod to see some pics of... currently I'm trying a few of the other mods that have been mentioned but so far none are working well enough to not end up with some dry hits...
