I've got vapemail today ( this morning actually... )

Th E3 freebie first.. cracks on the one I got were very minor around the bottom.

I filled it up with the sample of Hush that I got... The draw on this one is similar to a Stardust... the flavor is really good when the coil is kept wet, but even keeping this one tilted all of the time, I often get dry hits even at 3v on my Amigo VV dongle. If I were to make an educated guess... I suspect the coil on mine isn't sitting level in the cup which would explain how others aren't reporting this issue.

On the 5 Piece Rebuildable tank Atomizer CE9...

So far I'm not impressed and I'm currently trying some of the other suggestions that have already been given. At this point, I get a lot of dry hits even after straightening out the coil and wick as well as priming it good... Then after I added some wick through the spike and it did improve but I still needed to vape it slowly and prime a lot but so far it still doesn't keep up and ends up going dry before long.

I need to play with this one more... The amount of wick that I added through the spike was just enough to reach the coil, I need to add more so it will make better contact and be able to transfer more juice. The mod previously mentioned using stainless mesh is intriguing but I'll need to get some ordered in so I can try that later.

So for now... I'm not happy with the performance but I'm not surprised as it is similar to the performance issues I got when I was using an eGo-T with the same type of tank setup. Being a rebuildable makes it worth the effort to find and try out different methods on this one... so for now, it is a wait and see what works and what doesn't on this one.

just a thought from playing with my pretty new appolo tank i think the bottom piece should be knurled or something. Ive had it get stuck on the battery where the tank would unscrew and i couldn't get the base off the batt without pliers. Not sure why it stuck i didn't tighten it down hard or anything lol

I agree. I have a lot of issues with my hands, and the fact that it's smaller than say the vivi since it tapers, and it's so smooth, makes this one hard to unscrew a lot of times. On or off the batt.

Well my first impressions of the Rocket were so completely wrong. This thing has proved itself to me and the abuse I seem to be giving it. It has become my all day device with a Vivi Nova tank that I converted to a stainless steel mesh wick and and wrapped a coil that is right at 2.4Ohms. I find that 4.1Volts is perfect for the juice I am using which is Doc Peppa. I didn't like the unit at first because it was light and felt cheap. Buuuuuuut...it has yet to fail me, and I love being able to dial the voltage in to the juice. I seem to be using anywhere from 3.2 to 4.6 volts. I absolutely love this setup, and it's easily the best setup I have used since I quit analogs and started vaping. I would also like to add the finish has held up well too. I know I read somewhere on here that their paint was all chipping off. Mine has fallen out of my pocket while riding a motorcycle, and off the top of my toolbox like 4 times now. It doesn't appear to have any noticeable blemishes whatsoever. It really is a hard unit to dislike once you get used to the light feel. :2c:

Cheers,

Mike

I received mine today. I tried to roll mesh around some silica for the wick, but it ended up too thick. I pulled out the silica and re-rolled the mesh. So mine is wicking from the tank to the coil with just SS mesh. I let it sit about 5 minutes and so far it is working great. The draw is a bit hard, but I like this as I have no leaks and alot of vapor. Flavor is great also.
Not sure if this has been asked, but is GV planning on selling replacement tanks and stoppers?
This has to be one of the best Alpha products yet.

Is the mesh tube touching the coil? How far down dose it protrude? I'll have some mesh Monday and this sounds like a worthwhile try.

I just grabbed my Rocket out of the dead vape stuff container, to remove the batteries, and its alive and kicking. I dont know why or how. I just put that freebie stardust looking thingy on it and I'm vaping away...

If you own a Plantronics Voyager Pro headset you're used to the, put it in a drawer for a month and then it comes back to life cycle :)

Glad to hear it's working again.

I feel like a naughty Alpha member. I can't bring myself to put my Apollo down to properly test anything  And I know it's blasphemy, but I've barely used my Phoenix from a brand new box...

I'm going to clean it for the first time today and I'm assuming that it's like cleaning the old Stone II/III since you can take the post with the wicks completely out. Disassemble, rinse off, pat the wicks dry, reassemble, dry burn, put rubber seal with cone back on, load up and go.

Apollo E2 tank FYI

The last juice I put in the 6ml tank was called Liquid Amber. It's a semi sweet/semi sour juice. This means that it's slightly acidic, but nothing compared to the lemonade that melted my Ce5. That said, the clear window in the tank did cloud up just a tiny bit. I'm going to assume that it's polycarbonate plastic. So, unless it's just from needing to be cleaned (which I doubt since it was only my 2nd tank), be careful with acidic juice.

E3.... too cracked to hold juice, had to toss it.

CE5
Finally bit the dust, am guessing I put at least 12 tanks though it, flavor started to be off after being perfect the first 11 tanks. I could have gotten a week of using one CE5 exclusively.

Would love to see these with a replaceable center post, and with the bottom set of juice holes on the center tube moved as low as they can go. Also would be curious to see how they perform with 3 sets of holes vs having two.

No replaceable innards means the CE5 wont be in my rotation, but its defiantly a winner. I think flavor is better than a stardust and if the CE5 could be branded as better tasting than a stardust you will sell a ton of them.

I believe that for me... this one is a fail in my book. I can see it being converted into a dripper type of atty which would/does work well... in fact that is probably what I'll use mine for.

I had issues with the eGo-T and eGo-C style tank atties that I used before and I'm seeing similar issues on this one needing to be constantly reprimed in order to avoid dry hits. I've tried dropping a wick through the spike and it helped but didn't completely resolve the issue, I could easily out vape it even at low wattage settings.

Quick recap: I wrapped my own coil of 32ga Kanthal around 2mm Silica and ended up w a 1.7Ω coil. I slipped a pc of 1.5mm Silica thru the spike, under the wick, and up over next to the coil.
I am at the end of my 2nd tank and I have abandoned "priming" the coil by sliding the tank up and down. I am amazed at the performance of this little toy. I have $80 RBAs that this is keeping right up with. I am going to open up the airhole just a touch, but other than that this is a winner in my book.

Haha... I bet you my friend could answer that much more accurately than I could w/o opening the device. That red text tends to stay w a fellow.
:D heh the red has kinda grown on me but i try and remember to only use it round here. Say certain things in the right color and folks take it the wrong way...
Edujamacated best guess would be like 3~4 (just like the owl would say ;))

How did you possibly get the wick under the coil and over the top? Pretty much impossible with the way it is assembled. Or did you do the bottom first, feeding the wick up the spike and trimming after screwing it together?
