Apollo:

Love the battery and the blue lights.....comfortable in the hand, and definitely very cool looking. Fighting a bit with the tank. First couple of fills were excellent. When cleaning it, I hit the power button for about one second, and the coil popped. No problem...I replaced it with the spare. Now it's giving me trouble. Initially I got major burned taste. After some investigation, I checked the reading on the Provari, and it was reading 1.7!! Had to drop the voltage down to 3.0 to get decent taste. After a day, it is reading 2.1. I'm not a low resistance type, and like a cooler vape, so not liking it much. Hopefully it is breaking in and will get better. On the good side....I have experienced no leaking and no flooding. I am still getting a dry hit once in a while, which is resolved by a primer puff. I think the issues are just with this specific head, as I no zero issues with the original head.

E3 freebie..tried to fill it but the crack on the outer tank was all the way through and it leaked..going to see what i can do with this later..maybe find another tank that will fit or try to seal that crack.

CE9....initially 2 good hits then a dry one..which I expected but I had to try it as it came first. Some trial and error with putting wick through the spike to the coil and reading others posts on here (thanks) and I seem to have found a setup thats working. First I took a screwdriver and bent my coil a bit being careful and made it more n shaped. Then took a wrapped wick, probably about 5 strands in the wrap, fished it under the coil and back up to meet itself just above the coil and grabbed it there and twisted it up to try to get it to stay wrapped around..so i had some success and had it loosely encircling the coil...took the rest and tried to fish it up through the spike...used a paperclip and got it through...screwed down the spike making sure to keep my coil encircled as best I could and clipped off the excess wick leaving just a tad sticking out the top of the spike. 1 hour so far of moderate vaping with no dry hits.
I'm thinking since I dont have any mesh to play with here, I,m going to make a coil and wick with a strand of wick coming out of the top of the coil so I dont have to play around trying to get that wick to stay on the coil.
edit 2 hours later and its still going strong..started vaping it tough and turning up the voltage to see if i could get a dry hit and still none.

EEEEEEEEYO alphas, I am here 2day to post about my 1st alpha products:vapor:,,,so the scorpion carto im really not impressed with, the draw is a little to airy(not really a word but works:) ) 4 my liking. its not really giving me great flavor but due to the fact of i havent fully broke it in yet, just having a hard time doin so since im not really ejoying it,but ill keep workin with it and keep yall up 2 date on its progress, now the
applo: 1 of the reasons i havent fully broken in the scorpion, im 2 busy diggin this product.seems pretty well built, its soilid fits nice in hand its smaller then what im used 2 (650mah)been rockin ego-t mod. but im really diggin it thus far. the batt is consitantly putting out 3.7 so far, if i change the carto it could b a perfect little sneak-a-vape. as for the tank its been great so far no issues as of yet.down side is the drip tip doesnt seem to have a real snug fit.
so far applo

Hello, I'm new to the ALPHA program and Just got my first order. I haven't filled anything yet but thought I would give my first impressions

E3 Freebie - No cracks in mine that I can see. The have some fraying with some tiny strands hanging off that will probably wind up floating around in my liquid. I couldn't read any ohms on it. So, I put my multimeter in continuity mode and it displays open. (no tone present)

Appolo Tanks - I got the 6ml and the monstrously huge 10 mil (I'd love to see it on an AMiGo). The both appear well constructed. I opened them up and noticed that in both one of the wicks is cut about half way through from the metal in the stem. Probably from being forced down by the silicon cap. My red 6ml tank seems to be at around 6.8ohms and the 10ml tank around 5.8. Those seem kind of high. Is there a trick to measuring resistance on a top coil?

CE9 - Looks like a frayed mess in there like others have seen. Multimeter showed 22ohms! Couldn't be right. Tested an atomizer I know the resistance of and got a good result. Tested the CE9 again and 23ohms.... I think I'll rebuild it before even trying it out of the box..

More to come.

Welcome and hello,
Great to have such a crowd building up here!! There seem to be too many for me to name by name...(huh can I say that?)

Regarding the CE9, Anybody with questions or concerns look back a few pages I gave an in depth breakdown on how I got it vaping like a monster. If there is anything beyond my breakdown that still leaves questions please just ask.

Quick recap: I wrapped my own coil of 32ga Kanthal around 2mm Silica and ended up w a 1.7Ω coil. I slipped a pc of 1.5mm Silica thru the spike, under the wick, and up over next to the coil.
I am at the end of my 2nd tank and I have abandoned "priming" the coil by sliding the tank up and down. I am amazed at the performance of this little toy. I have $80 RBAs that this is keeping right up with. I am going to open up the airhole just a touch, but other than that this is a winner in my book.

Is this the post you're referring to? I'll try something like that.

Thanks for the welcome. Wish I hadn't missed out on the Apollo batteries but maybe there will be more...

That post is a quick recap of the original post a few pages b4 that...
I have an Apollo battery and tank that I would be glad to send to you for what I paid + shipping. I dont like them, nor do I use them. They are SS and the batt is the 650mAh, 6ml tank, 10 ml tank, replacement 6ml tank, and an extra replacement wick/coil shaft. As long as the powers that be are cool with this its all yours.

CE9:
I want to like this.... I REALLY Want to like this but it's not working for me. I am getting ready to try the wick in the feeder to see if that fixes it.... I have high hopes but I just don't know. The build quality on this is awesome. However, the performance just isn't there for me.

Apollo Tank Update:
This thing is leaking for no apparant reason. I have pulled it apart, reloaded it and just leaving it standing up off a battery in a few hours will have juice clearly on the threads. So not sure what is going on but its no good :( Now once I clean the threads it actually still works great except the leaking on the bottom. Still happy with it but defiantly more of a novelty item for me.

Halfway through the first tank my Apollo also started leaking, and at about 25% had a major juice dump. I have no idea why, everything seems tight. It is very cool looking...but leaking is my pet peeve.

ok the appolo tank.
The core that came in it the coil is all mushed to one end, ego just blink so i set it aside to fix later.
The coil in my replacement core was also messed up but I was able to straighten it out with a pair of tweezers. Then when I screwed it in the tube was all crooked off to one side. After playing with it for a while it finally screwed in at a different angle so it must've been cross threaded from the very beginning when manufactured. After it screwed in funny the tube was straight. And surprisingly it didn't leak.
I filled it up and vaped it for a while and it just won't stop getting gurgley. Juice level is about even with the top of the window. I think somehow the little pip at the top is causing it to catch the juice right there and make it do that....
I think what this needs is a custom 510 extension tube inside that would let you use a vivi head in it. Then no more problems lol
and an interesting side note the tank and cap threading is the same as an ego cone...

So, I ran in to that with my CE9. When I took it apart and tested it at the posts though (not the 510 connector) I got 2.3 ohms. Give that a shot. It's hard to test the sealed end 510.

Somebody in another thread asked for "expert advice" regarding wick and coiling. I responded with: "I'm not an expert, but I play one on ECF" and proceeded to answer his questions.
BTW WALKA is Walker with a Boston accent. I pulled that off the top of my head years ago and its been w me ever since.

Yeah, I did the same and got 2.3-2.4 ohms depending on where/how the probe was sitting. Had to break out my helping hands to hold the atty for me while I did it.

E3 Freebie

I assume these are destined for the no-fly zone, but I got one, and wanted to post a first take. At first look, I see a few minute stress cracks at the base, nothing large or intimidating, just noteworthy because of other reviews. Fills easy, no leaking thus far. Flavor is decent, when it's there. Draw and vapor are good.

but...

The dry hits (I'm gonna call them 35% of the time) are debillitating. Reminicent of and worse than the worst dry hit on a C8. And unlike the C8, the best vape is not worth struggling through the dry ones. The C8 is either heaven or hell, the E3 is either hell or Cleveland. (Nothing against Cleveland, mind you, but its a far cry from heaven, I'm sure)

Hopefully it just needs to sit awhile, I'll pick it up again in the morning and see how it goes.

Any news on drops this week, sitting on a SRT purchase and thinking hey, wonder if I can through some Alpha new hotness in the cart.

I'm not sure about any Alpha drops, but there's apparently a real possibility of some Raven hotness before the week's out. More details on the Raven thread.
