Nothing grey about it. It has nothing to do with this thread and nothing would change here. It's just an alpha product reference listing and nothing more.
It has nothing to do with off topic postings. You are the warden on that one. I love monkey mama's posts. I really need a laugh sometimes and she always delivers.
All this E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E9, dripper, tanker, submarine, dongle, dingle, clearomizer, darkomizer. melting tip, cotton, silica, kanthal, stardust, moondust, Raven, Scorpion, etc. get's confusing. I have so much stuff I just call it this and that. Every book and catalog has an index. Why can't this stuff. Particularly when it disappears off the GV site when it's gone. All I want to see is one thread with only Alpha product pics and names. It's really not any extra work. They post them anyway but they are all scattered about. Why not put them in one thread for reference in the chronological order they appeared?
Anyway the call is Dan's and Chris's. I personally would love to see it.

Hold on a minute. I believe we are having 2 different conversations at once and its my fault. Pardon me.
I agree whole heartedly with you about this comprehensive list. However I think its more pertinent for the big boys than us. I am not the warden of keeping the thread on topic that would be rdsok. I made a joke the other night directed at him for a post he made along the lines of "dont go off topic". Quite often I'm leading the charge off into never never land. As long as we stick to business when there is business at hand I think the rest of the time is free game.
I apologize for stressing you out just then I guess I misread your point.
We are all on the same team here, Alpha or not. We are all ECF above and beyond all else.
Vape happy brother. :toast:

Hey now... I didn't post to tell that person to not go off topic here as much as to tell them to post in the product's thread that they were asking about so they could be helped... I have enough other forums that I admin and/or moderate and really don't need to add another to my list..

I'm as bad as the next when it comes to posting off topic stuff at times... :D

Exactly...very nice job..hope it works as well for you as it does for me

Edit..if the wicks came pre-made in this fashion or some other way that allows wicking through the spike to the coil..I believe it would be a big step toward making these ready for main section.

I'm pretty dense sometimes, so that pic sealed the deal. I wasn't much motivated to try anything else with this device until seeing it.

Good idea Robby and nicely implemented SolemnPenguin.

Hey wait a minute here folks... Lets give credit where credits due. I did this weeks ago when this bad boy first dropped, and even posted a written tutorial on how to do this. With the exception of incorporating the feed line into the coil (nice move there).

I didn't see you post anything about a T shaped wick to coil up sorry if you did I would have given you credit in my initial post.

Edit...I guess you didn't post anything about a T shaped wick...but can we please not get into semantics about whos ideas they are..its not about that really..the spirit of this is to share ideas and build off each others ideas to improve the product for the vaping consumer. My wick design had nothing to do with your posts but was something I wanted to do as soon as I realized the wick wouldnt stay on the coil and would pull out with the tank sometimes...hence incorporating the extra wick right into the coil. Also Penguin came up with a similar idea I'm sure on his own for probably the same reason I came up with mine...But again its not about that, its about sharing ideas and building off each others ideas.

CE9: I'used it quite a bit today like this. But the performance started dropping off after the first cartridge (I've never used a feed system like this but a full cartridge is only lasting me about an hour, is that normal?). I took it apart and found that the coil had come into contact with the post (the one on the left side in the picture). I thought I was burning the wick (cotton) but I think it was just dry hits due to the voltage I was at and the shorter effective coil. The coil and wicks looked to be in good shape other than one side having been compressed onto the post.

Performance wise I couldn't say if the Inverted-T® was better or worse than my method of just leaving one end long and running that side up the spike tube. I'd have to compare side by side. Both methods allowed about 5 long chain vapes with out a problem.

My opinion is still kind of unchanged. It does what it's supposed to (if you forgive the pre-installed setup); but I wouldn't buy one at retail price (I'm assuming somewhere around double the alpha price).

With the methods of running a wick that's attached to the coil through the spike there's no way to get a good look at your coil without having to re-wick it. with the methods of running a wick through that's not attached to the coil you're hoping the two wicks will touch and transfer juice. I found the performance to be all over the place with the second method. A thin enough stainless steel wick running through a vertical coil might work and allow you to remove and replace the spike when needed. I have no experience with stainless steel wicks though and it would probably be difficult to keep from bumping the wick and therefor warping the coil.

I also found that sometimes it was hard to get one lead trapped by the screw in the post. It would be off to one side or the other and might slip out. A thicker/smaller gauge wire might solve that (I'm using Kanthal-D 36awg). So might putting the screws on the top of the posts and feeing the leads through the sides of the post like on the Phoenix Bully. That way there's no where for the lead to run.

I think the posts could be a little shorter too, giving a tad more clearance between the coil and the top of the chamber it sits in. Again screws on top of the posts like the Phoenix Bully would solve that.

There's also the fact that the juice delivery method isn't exactly cutting edge.

Not at all. I was kidding around. I just ran a pc of silica thru the spike and down under the coil and up over the other side, to feed the coil. Its all good guys I am all for helping each other out thats how this whole industry became what it is.

kawalka did post about a setup very similar to what you posted... he didn't call it a "T" shaped wick but his description is of the same type... main difference is that the wick going through the spike that he described was wrapped around the coil and not tied in...

... and I'm one to believe that semantics ARE important ( Symantec being a company that has successfully promoted an inferior antivirus product that people still purchase despite that there are better alternates available )
