I got the freon in the car. Don't use those cans of freon with the hoses and gauges included and already attached. They are cheap throwaway tools and make the job much harder. The connector was wonky and hard to attach and the gauge gave readings that were all over the place. I doubt I got enough freon in, but I got the whole can in and the ac is much cooler than before. I couldn't ever get a decent read on the gauge to know if I got it up to full pressure. Yesterday, it gave me a high pressure reading, which suggested I would need an expensive repair. Next time I'm buying a real ac charger hose and the cans of freon. It might cost a bit more, but it'll make the job easier.
