Hello in here. I'm helping a over weight nurse at work get into vaping. She is using it to curb the appetite. She also uses cbd but I shared my simple peach gummy with marshmallow and she loved it. The temp right now is 70. Some photos from the garden. (Yeah, to bore ya with). This is a pic from the winter squash garden.

Cucumbers were growing like squash this year. I had to gift them to others. I made a ton of fridge pickles/claussen type.

I am so jealous! I love making (and eating) those pickles.

I like cucumbers very much and my youngest daughter does too. I’ve never made pickles before.
You should give it a try!

Here's the easiest recipe in the world for fresh (Claussen's-like) pickles:

    1/3 cup kosher salt

    1 cup boiling water

2 pounds pickling cucumbers, washed (scrub if spiny) and halved or quartered lengthwise

At least 5 cloves garlic, crushed

1 large bunch fresh dill, preferably with flowers, or 2 tablespoons dried dill and 1 teaspoon dill seeds, or 1 tablespoon coriander seeds

    1. Combine the salt and boiling water in a large bowl; stir to dissolve the salt. Add a handful of ice cubes to cool the mixture, then add all the remaining ingredients.

    2. Add cold water to cover. Use a plate slightly smaller than the diameter of the bowl and a small weight to keep the cucumbers immersed. Set aside at room temperature.

    3. Begin sampling the cucumbers after 4 hours if you’ve quartered them, 8 hours if you’ve halved them. In either case, it will probably take from 12 to 24 or even 48 hours for them to taste pickly enough to suit your taste.

    4. When they are ready, refrigerate them, still in the brine. The pickles will continue to ferment as they sit, more quickly at room temperature, more slowly in the refrigerator. They will keep well for up to a week.

Thanks. I'll have to try that sometime. Next year I won't make the same mistake. The seeds I used this year are giving me smaller cucumbers. About half of the size of ones from years past. Last year I just bough a plant and planted it. Most times I just do seeds. I'm no green thumb but it seems like cucumbers will grow no matter what you do.

If this sounds like too much work, you can do what I do. Buy a jar of Clausens.

We had strong storms overnight and through the morning that woke me up several times. It was weird how it came in waves. It would get loud and rain would hit the back of the house really hard then it would be quiet and I'd about fall back to sleep and then it would hit again.
