Well, the stew is put together at last and needs to cook another 40 minutes or so. I'm exhausted from all the prep but will make wide egg noodles to serve the stew on. Also have fresh bread for dipping in the stew! :w00t::ohmy::blush:
Daughter brought us a chicken pot pie over the weekend. She isn't a very good cook. It was tasty but the inside was dry as a bone, no gravy at all. Really thick pastry on the bottom as well as the top. Her boyfriend apologised for the dryness when they brought it round, apparently he tried to persuade her not to give it to us. She made 3 of them, they ate one and put one in the freezer.

She's a nurse and has plenty of money but she cruises the local foodbanks several times a week. Chronic tightwad. She has never had internet service to save money, just comes round to our place when she needs to download and print stuff.

I've been getting into making humus recently. My favorite at the moment has lots of roasted garlic plus turmeric and cumin. I like to keep it on the dry side rather than runny texture you get at the store.

Having been sick I was way behind in servicing vape gear. Over the last few days I've put new coils in all of mine and the wife's tanks. Most of them were in bad shape. I'm down to 8 setups now and 3 of them have different versions of the same recipe. Feels like I'm losing my vaping energy. It's good that they don't taste burnt any more though.

Good afternoon EveryOne

Talk about highly abnormal February weather... it was 46°F at 4am when Carli dog and I went for our walk. 40s for the foreseeable future. Weather people are sayin' we will hit 50° - 55° for a few days next week. Wow???

I do not see any reversing of Earth's current extreme weather patterns. The time for action, on the part of humanity, has long past. As predicted by climatologists the extreme weather is here to stay. This is the New Normal.

On the DIY front... I mixed something new today. It's good off the mix. Needs steeping.

We have the 40’s but no 50’s showing yet here. Todays high is 38.

Until the great die-off, at least. Things'll straighten out then. Eventually.

    Somewhere between here and there
Just started my lunch break. It's 47 here already. We are supposed to get some rain tomorrow which we could use. The usual hoopla is going on at work today. One of the guys sold two machines that were slightly used as new since they didn't know it. Both were sold then returned. We had the engine repairs done under warranty and were planning on either putting them in rental or selling them as used. Now the boss has decided to go ahead and replace them.

Was it a mistake, or was your coworker being unethical?

    Seems like a waste.

Yep. With a decent die-off the planet will rebound. A warming planet creates the perfect petri dish for newer, and far more deadly, viruses. Over half of known pathogenic diseases can be aggravated by the same. Meanwhile the species of planet Earth are in for a wild ride, the likes of which have never been experienced before. Could have been averted. Shame.

They will straighten out but they will never be the same. The parameters have changed. The species will adapt or die. They won’t be the same species. The chemistry of the Earth is different. People seem to think we can just stop and everything will go back to normal. We’ve already pushed that out of the framework of possible outcomes. It’s all new territory that doesn’t necessarily include us.

Sad thing, this was all predicted by scientists decades ago. I feel bad for the future of my children, the children of others and their as of yet unborn. I feel terrible for all the animals. And nature (as we knew it). There is nothing natural about what we are experiencing. At.All.

I’m not worried about myself. Not that worried about my children, my youngest will be 51 this year and my oldest will be pushing 60. The grandkids are who I’m worried about along with the great grands. Also all the poor animals.

I didn't pick up the package, but I found out, after a long search, that I hadn't started with farm tax for 2022 lol.
But I think I found receipts, hopefully the most important ones.
So, tomorrow I will pick up the package and then devote myself to these damn papers.
I will have two years of building maintenance, after that I will close down.

He hasn't logged in since 2 February 2022.
