Sometimes wish I could do pie recipes. Maybe someday my tastebuds will be more forgiving but I doubt it.
I have a winner with this new stuff and bout time. Low level sweetness with just a touch of background tart
Basil Rhubarb
FLV Basil .25%
INW Rhubarb .75%
FA Lemon Sicily 1%
INW Strawberry shiska 1%
VT Whiskey 1%
This was too sweet when first tried. Don't know what made me add the Whiskey but it worked.
Glad you stopped at the right time,Haze. The VT Scotch Whiskey Probably is too much scotch for you. I'd go with the Bourbon. Yes the Shisha Strawberry is INWLooks like I checked back in at the right time ... very interesting mix Francy!
I'm curious about the VT Whiskey in this though, is it the Scotch Whiskey or the Bourbon. I'm guessing it's the former and that causes some consternation for me ... I love bourbon but have never been able to acquire a taste for scotch. Okay, I'm going to make up a word here for the purposes of my question to you ... how 'scotchy' is this flavor in your opinion?
Oh one more, that is INW Shisha Strawberry right? Otherwise I'd have to think it was German Flavors brand instead, lol.
How about information specialists instead of informant......

I’m still not super happy with my cranberry recipe. I’m not sure what it’s missing.
10% cranberry Tfa
3% cactus inw
1% Fuji
Fran, I was starting to update my flavor list and found a few that I ordered twice by accident. It’s easy to forget what you have when I don’t keep my list updated.
I'm going to try cran-fuji-dragon fruit.Last night I mixed up one I found on ELR with great reviews. People say it tastes like Cran-Apple juice and Loaded Cran-Apple Juice by Ruthless.
The recipe called for CAP Supersweet and I used EM instead, based on the comments. I definitely don't think the Fuji is too strong - it probably takes that much to get any apple flavor with the cranberry. Anyway, I like it a lot (and didn't really expect to) so thought I would share it with you.
Cotton Candy (EM) (TFA) 2%
Cranberry (TFA) 7%
Fuji (FA) 4%
WS-23 .5% (certainly optional)
I mixed up another test batch of Cran-Apple today using 2% Fuji, a bit of INW Pear and a bit of FE Lemon. After it settles, I will test it and see which one, to my tastes, is better. If nothing else, I can mix the two together and maybe make some magic.

INW two apples is a very good snv, but the skin gets so strong to me after a few weeks. In spite of my experience with Inawera apple tasters I have no fear of apples under 5%.
My Inawera Bahraini taster is 10%
OK, I learned. The Cinnamon apple is 1% INW Bahraini 2% TFA Candy Apple.
But my INW Two (caramel) Apples is used solo at 5% and I have no regrets. I might back it down but it will be gradual.
It does get stronger but it is so good with FA fujiINW two apples is a very good snv, but the skin gets so strong to me after a few weeks.
I haven't tried those percentages yet, love Cap double apple with fuji. Going to sub honeysuckle for sweetener tho.It does get stronger but it is so good with FA fuji
If you like apple then you need to try diyordie reds clone. Its really good
FA fuji 5%
Cap double apple 3%
INW two apples 1.5%
.5% sweetner
This is the only recipe I ever took it that high but it is good. Interesting twist with the honeysuckleI haven't tried those percentages yet, love Cap double apple with fuji. Going to sub honeysuckle for sweetener tho.
I definitely agree with this. I've noticed fairly big differences in flavor from tank to tank and a couple of times I've noticed a difference when switching the same tank between different devices. Could be the batteries in the devices but I definitely have noticed a difference.
Thanks Anna, for sharing your impressions (and you to @Letitia; sorry that I forgot you were another DIYer with personal experience).but a straight up comparison head to head PG vs PEG400.... I'm not sure.
That's why I was asking. If you were able to minimize/eliminate any inherent sweetness that might be coming from your base, maybe some of your "too sweet" recipes/concentrates might become acceptable.Less sweet? I may need to try that.
Here's PJ's grapefruit post: Random DIY mixing and MoreSuggested mixing % for INW Grapefruit?
I have always perceived a sweetness from the INW Strawberry Shisha. I once tried @AndriaD's strawberries & cream recipe that called for SS to be used at a whopping 18%. At that extreme, the shisha notes (predominantly honey, and a bit of incense(y) tobacco) really came out. But even at much lower (1-3%) percentages, I have found it to be a sweeter, more candy-like, strawberry.I have a winner with this new stuff and bout time. I don't know if you ever use any other supplier besides BCF; but I found it still in stock at Nicotine River (and bought some) this holiday. The price was the same.the current OOS situation of this flavor at BCF?
I don't think I've taken fuji over 3%. Going to go with your percents tho. Apple & honeysuckle pair well together, somehow it isn't too sweet. Should be but...This is the only recipe I ever took it that high but it is good. Interesting twist with the honeysuckle

Nope, not me. I only got one bottle. You could use FA Zen Garden if you have it.Thanks Fran, I'm definitely going to try this but I'll have to make some substitutions and not just the whiskey portion either. I'm also missing FLV Basil but I may have something that I could sub for it. Am I correct in assuming that you are either the cause of or, at the very least, a contributing factor in the current OOS situation of this flavor at BCF?
