Thanks for sharing that. I will give it a try. I saw another one with 4.5 of kiwi and cranberry along with some sweetener.

I also like this version of Cran-Apple that I mixed up based on a few suggestions here about your recipe. It is quite good for my taste though if you want Cran-Apple, the first one I posted is perfect.

Cotton Candy (EM) - 2%
Cranberry (TPA) - 7%
Fuji (FA or Jungle Flavors) - 4%
Lemon (FE) - .25% (Lemon Sicily would work well too)
Pear (INW) - .25%
I added .5% of WS-23 because I like my juices icy!

Thank YOU for posting your problem recipe. If you had not, I would never have discovered how much I like Cran-Apple.

I understand PEG400 is most commonly used as a substitute for PG. However, in this instance (Fran's trying to "de-sweeten" some of her mixes/concentrates), if the PEG400 might be used in place of the VG. Maybe even as the sole carrier (just flavor, Nic, and PEG400).

Is the PEG400 thick enough to prevent catastrophic flooding? And, is there any (too much) harshness to it, to prevent solo use?

That's why I was asking. If you were able to minimize/eliminate any inherent sweetness that might be coming from your base, maybe some of your "too sweet" recipes/concentrates might become acceptable.

But, instead of using it as a sub for PG (which I get no impression you have any problems with), I was thinking as a VG substitution. The NR description says:
"Polyethylene Glycol 400, USP is a clear, colorless, viscous liquid, the USP grade,..."
That made me think maybe a PG/PEG400 blend, or all PEG400 base, could take the place of your current PG/VG base.

Just thinkin' out loud... feel free to ignore me.

I have always perceived a sweetness from the INW Strawberry Shisha. I once tried @AndriaD's strawberries & cream recipe that called for SS to be used at a whopping 18%. At that extreme, the shisha notes (predominantly honey, and a bit of incense(y) tobacco) really came out. But even at much lower (1-3%) percentages, I have found it to be a sweeter, more candy-like, strawberry.

As for the lemon note; I feel about lemon concentrates, the way you feel about lime concentrates... they all have some (some more; some less) semblance of "sweet" to them (including FA Lemon Sicily). It very well could all just be in my head; in the absence of any real "sour" note, my twisted brain tells me they must therefore be sweet. But, right or wrong, that is my perception.

I don't know if you ever use any other supplier besides BCF; but I found it still in stock at Nicotine River (and bought some) this holiday. The price was the same.

PEG 400 isn't near thick enough to replace vg. That being said many successfully vape 100% pg so it can work.

Well ain't that a bummer. I did lower my VG to 20% when I did my nic base today.

Cran-apple sounds good. Oh course I've never been able to taste apple vapes. Gave up on it long ago.

Ended up remixing 2 recipes today. Should work this time.At least I hope so. Will be trying some of my flavor testers tomorrow. Of course the taste fresh may have nothing to do with the steeped taste. Maybe I'll just try the couple I'm most curious about and put the rest away. Fruits shouldn't take that long to fully steep. 10 days,15days?? Thoughts?

INW two apples is a very good snv, but the skin gets so strong to me after a few weeks.

I haven't had a problem with it at 5%.
Apples tend to be weak so I'm in heaven with the Inaweras.

I need to figure up how much to use of my 10% taster of Bahraini. I could be mixing tasters of all the apples I've tried over the years with it as a booster.

I tried mixing 70vg/30PEG thinking it would be closer to 80vg, nope maybe 73/27. Not that much thicker imo.

I was looking for less sweet but sounds like dropping my vg more would work better.
