I feel like I deserve a gold star. I got two recipes in my ELR “recipe box”. The second one I put in 4 times before it stopped deleting it when I hit save. Anyone know why it did that?
I still have my scale but it is in the cabinet. I tried to like it but like I have heard several times in the last week, old habits die hard. I had problems with getting used to how the scale lagged in time before registering each drop or whatever was put in. You have to have control over the amount that you put in the bottle or else you will ruin the mix and have to start over. Really did not save much time for me in the long run but maybe I just mix fast the old fashioned way?

lol
:)

eta plus for me there is minimal clean up time as I incorporated that into my sequence of mixing. 1 Syringe per flavor and as soon as the flavor is in the mix, I rinse it off and put it up to dry. So only thing left is to put the nic base and flavors away and by then the syringes should be dry. Easy.

Blow on it.

Say you need 0.50 of strawberry, you get to 0.45 and add a drop and the scale doesn't move...blow on it and the number will rise and then settle.

ELR create recipes won’t save using the Nic Ready Base at the moment. There’s some type of glitch that they’re going to try and fix because so many people want to use that way to save their recipes.
    Thank you.:) That explains it.

A much needed explanation. I type dreadfully slow. Putting the recipe in multiple times took forever. At least now we know how to do it. Should make things go quicker. Well, as quick as I can go, typing with a stylus

I wouldn't have the first clue how you do that.:)

I started mixing with syringes a few years ago- lots of flavors, lots of clean up. I quickly switched to mixing by weight and happily play the mad scientist now with a lot less clean up. (anyone want syringes? I have a few different sizes I can pif).

The other thing I quickly switched to was using a calculator to store my recipes. I'm a keyboard/spreadsheet person so it fits me to have a master record file. I tried 2 others before deciding the same one IDJoel uses was the one for me. Having recipes, ingredients and inventory stored and accessible makes me happy. Yes, there was set up time, but it pays dividends once that's done. So keep plugging away on ELR if that works for you! When you guys post a recipe that looks interesting, I open up the calculator in a small window and enter it so I've got it, add flavors to my shopping list etc. I'd be lost without it.

I was more scared to make my own coils than DIY. Now I don't worry if my coil is a bit ugly or if I've put in an extra drop of flavor when I mix. Experience has let me relax, feel more comfortable with substituting flavors for what I have instead of the original expecting to get to something that is to my taste, even if it isn't exact. Most of the time it works. LOL.

That’s a great price on that scale Fran. I guess I should grab one for that price. I won’t miss trying to read .5% on a syringe.
Or less even. We can learn together:)
Reading those isn't hard. It shows in big view on the 1ml syringe. Unless what you are trying to read is 0.05 which us half of 1/10th of a ml? Which would be under the -. half way between the .1 bolded and the bottom of the syringe. That one is hard :confused: but a 0.50 is the .5 halfway up the 1 ml syringe. Didn't I post a pic a while back that showed this? Thought I did
    :)
