Another week of work here. My wife went to visit our oldest daughter yesterday and today.

I hear lots of warnings about ordering nic during the summer. Is it really that big of a deal? I want to get a couple more liters and don't really want to wait until fall to do it.
I guess it matters how hot it is and how long it takes to receive.

I'd go for it, Hit. Don't see a few days at higher than optimum temp doing much to it. Peace of mind.

Big mixing day today here, going to be mixing up AngelNZ's Enticemint, Sad Pandas Evening Brew, Tc1's Rwhy4 and 3 Banger Custard by Avtoma5150. Especially looking forward to trying AngelNZ's Enticemint, that one has me really curious.

Thanks for mentioning that Rwhy4; this is the first I've heard of it. I went ahead and mixed me up a 10ml batch and can't wait to try it after it steeps.

Sometimes the day just gets away from us. I went to the grocery and started cooking for vacation, planning on being done by lunch. Nope! Give yourself the afternoon off and start again tomorrow. You deserve it!

Well, the weekend got away from me again, so got nothing done, mixed, or tested. I didn't even get laundry done and that's highly unusual for me. A close friend had their 50th party on Saturday (I got tasked at the last minute to get the cake by her husband - LOL!) and my son slept over, so that screwed up Sunday for me going out there to pick him up.

I did get to make my first ever home-made yogurt (it's still fermenting), so hoping that comes out well. I've recently learned that I can't eat yogurt that still has a lot of lactose (most yogurts are only fermented for 8-10 hours) or a certain active culture, so I have to make my own and ferment it for a minimum of 24 hours (so that the active cultures eat up all of the lactose). A non-dairy (preferably almond/coconut milk) yogurt is what I should have, but I can't find any without a ton of added sugars or other bad stuff I can't have, so I now have yet another appliance that my husband says that I don't need... He's just lucky I didn't buy the appliance that I really want... The Ninja Foodi, it's huge and at almost $300, because it does practically everything, yet I settled on a $25 yogurt maker! :grr: Now, if I can only find dry curd cottage cheese... I have never seen it, heard about it, or found it under its other name, Farmer's Cheese. o_O

My company gave us an extra vacation day on Friday, so with the 1/2 day on Wednesday, I'm hoping that I can get caught up quickly and fit some fun in, too.

Let me know how the yogurt turns out. Himself and my youngest are lactose intolerant.

Yeah Skeebo, I was really suprised at how good it was, considering the percentages and all, and it's really interesting to mix up a famous ECF recipe from back in 2012 too. A good steep and I think you'll enjoy, think I let mine steep a week if I remember right.

I haven't tried anything summery yet so I picked Fizzy Iced Fruit Bowl. So far I'm liking it.
    2.5% Cranberry SC
    1.0% Strawberry Cap
    1.0% Raspberry Pur
    2% FW Pink Champagne
    .75% WS-23
This sounds delightful. I can't make it till I get Pink Champagne, though, which I won't order till Bull City has a sale. I don't have Cap Strawberry, either. This is what I have:

    Organic Strawberry (TFA)
    Strawberry Ripe (TFA)
    Juicy Strawberry (FA)
    Shisha Strawberry (INW)

Would one of them do instead? Same percentage or no?

In my experience, yogurt separates into curds and whey if it ferments even as little as twelve hours.

You can make yogurt with almond or coconut milk, but you might need to make your own milk. It's not hard but certainly adds to the chore.

Paneer/queso fresco is essentially farmer's cheese, and it's even easier to make than yogurt. Just heat up some milk to 165-175 degrees, add lemon juice or white vinegar till curds start to form, stir a bit, and drain as dry as you like it.
