Either rubbing alcohol or ethanol will work for homemade hand sanitizer. First, pour ⅔ cup (160 mL) of 99% rubbing alcohol or ethanol into a large bowl. Then, add ⅓ cup (80 mL) of pure aloe vera gel. You can use vegetable glycerine instead of aloe vera gel if you'd like.
I see now that Fran had you covered on a recipe.

And remember that the final mix must be at least 60% alcohol for it to work. If not 99% alcohol, adjust the aloe or VG as needed.

You can also add some essential oils if you want. I put some tea tree oil in ours, also a dandy anti-biotic, not sure if it has any anti-viral effect.

markfm has this recipe from the stocking thread (in his words):

I always have the ingredients to make my own hand sanitizer.

Take a quart of 91% isopropyl alcohol

Pour 1/3 of it into another IA bottle

Fill the 2/3 full 91% bottle with VG

Shake before each use

This results in a relatively thin, but effective, mix. Aloe Vera gel can be used instead of vg, results in a thicker mix more like "normal" hand sanitizer gel, but is a pita to mix thoroughly
I heard 2 additional things about alcohol also. Has to equal at least 60% and stores are in short supply. It doesnt seem to matter what type. Ie rubbing alcohol is fine

Opps i see David beat me to it. Lol

Most of the recipes for sanitizer say 30% alcohol to 70% vg or aloe vera gel. Yours is the opposite. I think it would be too thin with 70% alcohol but thanks.

So 60% alcohol and 40% vg? Isn't that thin?

If you don't have enough alcohol the sanitizer is ineffective. The vg/aloe is only for your skin because the alcohol alone drys out too fast and makes your skin dry..

Yes, it's thin. Final alcohol MUST be at least 60%. The actual %s will depend on the % alcohol you can find. I did have some 91%, but much of what you (used to) find on the shelves is only around 70%, which would wind up even thinner.

One option might be to put it into a small spray bottle :)

BullCityFlavors sale. 15% off with code SHAMROCK through the 17th.

I actually posted that yesterday. I'm going to put in a small order to restock on a few that I'm running low on.

So far, I can't still buy stuff but where I am moving with my daughter in TN, they are sold out of everything, even soap.
I went to our little neighborhood grocery yesterday before we got locked down at home. Cleaned out is an understatement! Fortunately, plenty fresh fruits/veggies and meat, which is what I was after. Even frozen food, especially veggies and pizza was barren. By the time we get cleared to fraternize with the general public next week (hopefully), I bet there’s nothing left to buy.
We’re at 30 something cases, unfortunately including a cluster at a nursing home.

I'm vaping two of my Honduran Blueberry 2FTs. I'll try the Honduran Bilberry next. What I can say is both are a bit on the anemic side but the FW version has more blueberry taste than the TFA. About all the TFA does is mute the Ligero a little but it doesn't add any blueberry taste. At least I get a little flavor from FW. As is, both of these blueberries fall short and TFA is out. In order for this to work the bilberry is going to have to breath some life into it. Thinking this will go nowhere because I can always vape the Honduran Berry Mix and get as good a thrill.
