Unfortunately not.. I've been dealing with this issue for close to 30 years. I guess I just took the term intestinal fortitude literally.
Sending positive thoughts

And no more burritos or pastrami sandwiches for you then :)

Damn, I feel for you man. Type 1 is some horrible stuff.

I was diagnosed HIV+ in 1995 with a t cell count of 23, so it was AIDS. Luckily AZT (medication) was very effective for me in the early days and I was able to survive long enough to see the release of less toxic antiviral therapy.
I feel for you too.

I'm immuno-deficienct since my stem cell transplant after B cell lymphoma treatment so I know how bad that is for your system to deal with any other problems in your body. For me it's all about healthy foods which boost your immune system. The work done in the last 20 years has shown how important your gut microbiome is for triggering and helping immune responses in your system. Some estimate that 70% of your immune system response function comes via your gut.

There's nothing I can do about my T and B cells at the moment but I sure as hell can give my body the best chance by eating the right diet.

Like @ShowMeTwice I refuse to let any disease/disorder get me down and I'm pretty much positive all the time. Dr's are of course necessary but they actually know so little about the whole body functioning in a holistic way.

You can beat this Skeebs :)

@charlie1465 - Just remembered you'd asked yesterday IIRC... if those deals on ohm meters were in the US or elsewhere. They were in the US. Sorry I forgot to post earlier.
Yes I assumed as much

Thanks for responding though.

Almost all of the places I used to buy from don't exist anymore, there was no need to unsubscribe. :|

KAS

So true. Even V4L, my alma mater, is gone. My very first e-cig vendor and my very first ECF subforum.

I never thought it would come to this.

Wanna pay a tax of $5,560.00 on a liter of nic ?

Don't want to huh ?
Well then - speak up !
Stop a Massive Federal Tax on Safer Nicotine Products!

No I don't. I spoke up when I got an email from CASAA a couple of days ago and even got a response from my senator:

"Thank you for contacting me. I always appreciate hearing from the people of California about the issues that matter to you most. My office has received your letter, and we will review it and respond as quickly as we can."

Things are looking up. ;)

I had the same email but they've sorted it out now so should be fine to order...my Brunhilde is on the way so I hope so. Still coming by postNL as before so I'm guessing it'll be fine.

The problem is, they switched to USPS (for US orders), and USPS is going to stop shipping e-cigs sooner or later. And then what?

What a mess.

America has a major eating problem and it totally shows.

Unfortunately, it's not just America. Obesity is quickly becoming a global menace--abundant food, sedentary lifestyle. Since fewer and fewer of us have to walk for miles to gather a basket of berries or chase a hare for dinner as our ancestors did for millions of years, we're gaining weight. Are you familiar with the thrifty gene (or the later drifty gene) hypothesis? Quite fascinating, at least on paper.

Ty :)

What percents did you use?

2-3% FA Cucumber, .5-1% Black Pepper. With mint/menthol, it really depends on the strength of the menthol/mint/peppermint you're using. Some are very potent, others are quite mild.

However, does that mean there is no "Heredity" factor ? That anyone with type 2 or even type 1 diabetes are just lazy and slovenly eat everything and anything - eat too much . . . They do not watch what they eat or maintain a healthier diet throughout their life . . . That Diabetes is not a disease, but one that is man made . . . REALLY? ? ?

Nonsense. And you know it, Uncle. Diabetes type 2 is a terrible disease, as you obviously know, and there's no cure. Yet. Yes, it can be managed (meds, insulin, diet, exercise), but it won't just go away. Unless it's caught very early only on or is developed suddenly, after a rapid weight gain. The only type 2 diabetes that usually goes away by itself is gestational diabetes. The sad fact is that most people diagnosed with it have to be under strict medical supervision for the rest of their lives--even if they change their habits, diet, whatever, and even if their disease goes into remission. Not unlike HIV.

And yes, there is a hereditary component to it, and genetic, and ethnic, and cultural. They all play a huge role. Bloody genetic lottery.

Take care of yourself!

Just had this conversation with my doctor today. He's an endocrinologist who specializes in diabetes with decades of experience. He, and my other specialists, emphatically state that people with Type 2 can cure themselves by eating properly and exercising. The fact that they don't, points to, yes, laziness. Sorry, but that is what they tell me.

Your endocrinologist told you that "people with Type 2 can cure themselves by eating properly and exercising"? Are you sure he's an endocrinologist? Board certified? ;)

Unless he was just being sloppy or making a very broad generalization, he needs to do some reading on the subject.
Any doctor, worth their weight in gold, will state the same.

Well, I know one who won't. I live with him and he happens to specialize in pediatric exercise, obesity, asthma and yes, obesity. There is no known cure for diabetes. Only management--under medical supervision.
