I think I'm going to start rewicking and building extra tanks ahead of time for when I want to try new mixes instead of having to do that when I want to try something. I think it would help me to be more motivated to try new mixes sooner. I really need to thin the heard but haven't been able to decide which ones out of the 15 in rotation that I want to take out of service.
I agree. Building ahead of time is best.

Nobody uses old style atomizers for tasting anymore? Sure is easier than setting up a whole new tank every time you want to test something. All you do is rinse ‘em out and re-use:

I started doing that recently. When I was putting tanks away for any reason I always cleaned them, lubed the rings and took the coils out. Now I clean them and put in new wicks, and coils if necessary. It does make it easier to get started on mixing new recipes knowing there are tanks ready to go. If I get bored enough some time maybe I'll start putting coils and wicks in all the tanks in my stash.

It helps that I use the same coil in everything. 28g, 6 wraps, 2.5mm.

@ShowMeTwice If you bored you can find me the mixing percentage for the zabaglione. Think I need an sft on it.
Sorry, I fell asleep.

NF Zabaglione 2%-3%, in a mix. Someone says it's very light and airy with subtle hints of Marsala wine and what is believed to be a hint of raspberry.

A Marsala wine has cooked apricot and brown sugar flavors. It may also display hints of vanilla and hints of savory flavors. And because there is such a range of Marsala styles, the flavors can range from brown sugar and nuts to more complex and pronounced notes of honey, dried fruit, and licorice.

Wow, Marsala wine has a possible virtual cornucopia of flavors!

Per NF's web page on Zabaglione:

Zabaglione is an Italian Dessert made with egg yolk, sugar, and sweet wine. It is a very light custard that is made and eaten during Christmas Time.

Personally, based on ^^^ all that, I would SFT it. I am very interested in hearing what you think of "Z".

An sft @2% maybe or maybe 1.5%.

I need an sft on the Marula too. I have it mixed with a very light flavor (white tea) and I’m getting no fruit notes at all.
Now I'm very confuuuuuzed! o_O That's ok, it doesn't take much at all.

On Friday you said you couldn't taste the FW white tea at 3% and Marula at 0.7%.

    Your post:
Well then, I’m at a loss. I mixed it per your suggestion of .7% with White Tea at 3%. I can’t taste the tea at all. As it stands I’m not real excited about the taste. I guess I’ll be forced to sft.

I got the impression 0.7% INW Marula was overpowering FW white tea???

Got it. Thanks. So they basically cancelled each other out. Interesting.

Ok then, just checked ELR again. Out of 5 people; three SFT'ed it 2%, 3% and 4%. There were two who SFT'ed it at 0.5% and 1%.

One of those 5 people was @ceeceeisme and at 2% she said: "To me, at 2%, it tastes like a fresh realistic banana, not candy banana like so many other banana flavors out there. It tastes slightly green in a pleasant way, like that almost ripe banana that you know isn't quite ready yet but you're going to eat it anyway and when you do, it tastes great."

Based on that, and my experience with INW flavors, I went with 0.7% for my SFT. At 0.7% I didn't taste any banana. Just a nice tropical fruit. In my original notes posted here a while back I felt the ELR folks were all over the place with their SFT's and that was my reason for going more with the two who did 0.5% and 1%.

FWIW Fredman (Shiny) said it's a tropical fruit. In real life Marula there are no banana notes. :)

    I sure hope not cause I don’t like banana. I’ll give 1% a try.

Question. Have you done any mixes with it where it maintained it’s fruit taste?

Because you said the Marula is fruity.
    I think it's a nice tropical fruit.

    1% sounds good.

I have not done a mix with it yet. Initially I struggled to come up with something. I'll add 1% Marula to ice cream base and see if it maintains it's taste. I know the ice cream base well. IC base has 8% total flavoring so that will be a good test mix for Marula.

I’ll be waiting to see how that works out.

The Random DIY mixing and More thread has evolved!

When we first met my wife tried to tell me she never farts!  When she did fart she would say "that wasn't me" while turning 50 Shades of Red.

I used to fart in bed, she would be sleeping, so I did what any nice loving husband would do. Quickly covered her head. She woke up real quick and usually slightly upset with my superior level of immaturity. I was also a master of the SBD.

But if you notice in the video the women always smile or laugh!

That's what we're trained to do. It doesn't necessarily mean we're amused.

    Somewhere between here and there
Good evening. The wife and mother in law are on the way home. I have zero plans tonight. The boss will be back to work tomorrow. He’s always a little hard to get along with the first day back.

Still thinking about your Marula White Tea experience.

We know FW White Tea is a delicate flavor at 3%.

Perhaps INW Marula is also meant to be a delicate flavor.

Makes me wonder if it would show it's flavor at 0.25%-0.5% in white tea. Or maybe Marula and white tea just aren't meant for each other. Bad relationship! :D
