I really don't understand why everyone loves it so much compared to old school organic cotton. Maybe I'm missing an important tip on how much to use or something? Mainly referring to my mutation x rda. Will post pics later if that would help!

Can you tell us more specifically what problems you are having? It takes more Rayon than cotton as it doesnt swell, but overall it should have fabulous flavor from the first vape (no break in period like cotton) and it should stay super clean and keep your coil fairly gunk free for a bit longer.
Well, it seems that It is wicking slower than cotton. Everything else I agree with but I'm a chain Vaper and need quick wicking.
Pics of the build would help, IMO, and CL is spot on with needing to use more rayon than cotton as a general rule of thumb.
Hmm, interesting, I am too and I find it wicks faster. Is it possible there is a hair to much causing it to choke a bit in the middle?
Glad it worked! Im stilling getting it down to just "knowing" I have the right amount - Ive noticed if the first vape isnt wet flavorful and oozing with taste then i need to reevaluate bc its to much. lol.
I personally think one of the biggest difference is that all the fibers run in the same direction unlike sterile cotton balls, making for better absorption as well as easier to work with. Just my $.03¢ (inflation)

I'm starting to realize I always used too much cotton too! I was taught by a local shop instead of learning on here like I have done with most vape stuff. I think my friends use too much cotton aswell, that's why they complain that when they squeeze it, juice is obviously still there. Even though, they taste like dry hits! Sound about right?
I generally find you need to use about 20% more rayon vs cotton. I get my wicks pretty tight in the coils where they just kind of squeak inside the coil. It should wick incredibly fast, I can chain vape my Vulcan till it's dry with full flavor the whole time. I prepare mine by cutting about a 6 inch piece and then lightly pulling all the loose and short fibers off each end. Then I spilt it in half and gently roll each wick into a rounded shape and thread em on through. After that I saturate the coils and just the ends coming out of both sides of the coils and burn it dry. Then I saturate the whole wick and carry on. That last step seems to kind of prime the wick IMO. Here's a before and after of what mine looks like dry/wet. You'll see that it doesn't swell at all. If you use too little the rayon will collapse in your coil and you'll get dry hits no problem.
it certainly takes more rayon than cotton to wick but there is a limit, i struggled with this at first, saw a few vids where an ungodly amount of rayon was shoved into coils and people claiming that is the only way it will work. but i agree, about 20% more than cotton and enough so it has some resistance or a bit of a squeek when moving through the coil, glad your digging it, for price and performance i seriously doubt there is a better wicking material that is known at this time.
Buddy of mine brought over the latest Japanese cotton trend, I haven't even touched it yet because rayon dominates so hard. You'll know you did it right when you vape your RDA from flooded to bone dry with no harsh hits. Also like someone mentioned above, you gotta hear the squeak!
I'm glad I love it now also seeing as I have twelve ft of it! And when I eventually run out I will buy even more bulk. Thanks guys for the help!
