So I looked on Amazon for Rayon and found some products listed as "Graham Professional Cellucotton Beauty Coil" but there are two kinds: 44130 and 42251. Both are 40ft rolls. What is the difference? Which one is better? Is there a better source for Rayon?

I also happened to notice a book that made me question if we really want to use this product: Fake Silk: The Lethal History of Viscose Rayon the summary of which is below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
When a new technology makes people ill, how high does the body count have to be before protectives steps are taken?

This disturbing book tells a dark story of hazardous manufacturing, poisonous materials, environmental abuses, political machinations, and economics trumping safety concerns. It explores the century-long history of “fake silk,” or cellulose viscose, used to produce such products as rayon textiles and tires, cellophane, and everyday kitchen sponges. Paul Blanc uncovers the grim history of a product that crippled and even served a death sentence to many industry workers while also releasing toxic carbon disulfide into the environment.

Viscose, an innovative and lucrative product first introduced in the early twentieth century, quickly became a multinational corporate enterprise. Blanc investigates industry practices from the beginning through two highly profitable world wars, the midcentury export of hazardous manufacturing to developing countries, and the current “greenwashing” of viscose as an eco-friendly product. Deeply researched and boldly presented, this book brings to light an industrial hazard whose egregious history ranks with those of asbestos, lead, and mercury.

If the history of rayon manufacture bothers you it becomes a moral decision for you rather than a practical one. One would assume these problems have been fixed by now or they would not be written about. I could go on at length about other corporate abuses of trust, rayon being in no way special in that regard, but these days I weary of politics.

Thanks. Best source?
I bought mine at Sally Beauty Supply. I don't know if they have the 40ft roll, though. When I went in I just saw the 500ft and the 3lb (~900ft) boxes. The big one was only $2 more; guess which one I took home?

You're welcome. I order mine from Amazon because they have the 40ft. boxes and always at a decent price. My local Sally's only carried the much larger boxes (500 ft.-1250 ft.), and most of it was the cotton/rayon blend or 100% cotton...which I definitely didn't want.

I don't think the 10 ft bag is rayon. I think it is cotton. Just because they call it cellucotton doesn't mean it's rayon. Check before you order.

True. I bought a small bag locally and when I got home discovered it was cotton. Went back and bought the big box and now set for life.

The 44130 is the one you want, because it's 100% rayon fibers.
The 44251 is 100% cotton fibers.

I remember I saw somewhere 44060 is the one best for vaping...???

Btw, I am from Malaysia, the shipping fee to send me the cellucotton is about 6 times the cost of the cellucotton itself. Man... that is incredible.

So I looked online at Sally's and saw they had a 10ft bag for $1.99 and I wanted to get that to see if I like it. So I went into my local store tonight and of course they don't carry that size in store. So guess I'll have to order it. Thanks again everyone.
This is what I’m saying about cost: that 1.99 bag is I’ll cost 5$ to ship

44060 is the same as the 44130 except it is a bigger box.

They wanted $17 for the 3lb box. I don't want that much until I have a chance to try it and see if I really want to use it. I'll check shipping tomorrow.

Just remember rayon ISN'T cotton is any sorta way, totally opposite properties. If you wick your build like cotton your going to have a bad experience with breakin taste. The perfect rayon build has no breakin taste what so ever. Read up on "thinning" the tails not trimming cause with rayon less tail bulk is better. One thing you'll realize is that your build will last much longer with the coil pooping out from the cocoon of burnt then rinse off the rayon and its barely browned and looking like it can be reused. One taste of burnt rayon will stick to you for the rest of your life...
Once rayon wicking has been mastered ..you'll never look back.
