I still vape like a wimp at 20W. :) The Subtank has no issues in keeping up with me.

I just started looking at some local vendors for juices, and it seems like almost all do high VG juices here, hence the need to make a change.

Appreciate the help guys!!

Well, it doesn't taste like cotton. Zero break-in time @ 35watts, but I might have just got lucky on the density. Flavor seems better than Sally's. I think we can call it a good source, but I'd like others to verify before giving it any kind of stamp of approval. I could just be having a crazy episode of confirmation bias.

All my rayon has ever seen is vg from the first puff. :)

Shouldn't be any problem at all. Rayon power levels the playing field, prior fears need not apply.

As long as your tank will wick vg through to the rayon you should be good.

I had to stop vaping it this morning. Started to get some off taste (slightly burnt flavour). I'm guessing the Rayon has pulled away from the coil and it's what's causing this. I didn't have time to take it apart this morning, so will investigate it further this evening. I'll also rebuild it with the wick tight in the coil, but thin tails and see if I have better luck with it. It was great while it lasted though. :)

Here's how I do it:

Pics are rough to be sure, but I basically fill the coil, snip to the edge of the deck, bowtie it, then hack off whatever sticks up, at an angle. Weeps slightly until vacuum is built up, but hasn't leaked a drop on me yet :D

Thanks for the tips! Ok this is stupid of me but what is "bow tie it"?

Hey Dusty! Long time no see, brother!
Sorry to hear that the wick didn't hold up, I'm guessing that you're correct in that it pulled away from the coil. Definitely nothing that a quick rewick can't fix, and you've already answered your own question. Tighter in the coil and thin tails...

This is how I wick in the Silver Play. Thick in the coil, thin tails going all the way down the juice channels and cut off flush at the end of the deck where the outer housing screws on. I run 30pg/70vg through it all day long with no dry hits at all.

Hey buddy! You break the 500ml barrier yet? :D

I'll definitely keep playing with the setup but I have a feeling this method should work.

I'll report back in either later tonight or tomorrow.

Ciao!

Hahaha! No, I think my record was around 300mL... my patience didn't let me go any further than that.

I've never tried a Clapton. I mostly do single strand, but have done a few twisted builds. Might be worth it to throw some of the pre-built FT Claptons in the ole cart just to see what all the fuss is about, though.

Yeah, I'm curious too. I might just get a 5 pack to try them out.

Have any of you tried the pre-built Clapton coils available at FT with Rayon? If so, any significant improvement in flavour over spaced single coils?
I don't use premade, but have some spun up by the coil master at my local B&M. I don't find the basic single wire Clapton wire to be any better than a twisted wire coil. The Claptons really start to shine when you start using fused and stapled versions that have more than one core.

Claptons do require more power to bring them up to heat and larger post holes to get them mounted. The flavor from them is exceptional!

Fused 26g in the Mutation X V3.

Many of us just wick it tight enough to get a little rayon taste at first. That way you know it's tight enough... No taste you've hit the magical density or its too light.. More often light..

Nope. No off smell at all and it had that rayon glass like luster under the microscope. I'm fairly certain it's rayon. We'll see how it performs in a few hours.

BTW, this is the exact product I purchased:

The good news is vitamin D is cheap and most people, especially those who work indoors, likely have a vitamin D deficiency. Go get ya some.
Are you sure it was the tablets? I don't think the capsules or soft gels get it.

It will only be in specific vitamin bottles from that brand, and as we learned with the spring valley, they could change it in the future.

It sounds like it's good and buying the specific bottle pictured should produce rayon at this time. :)

Yeah, as suspected last night, it was working perfectly.. which meant it was just that tad too light once broken in. :p

Oh, it's good. Apparently there was a little break-in time for it to really come alive. After a couple of ml, I've made a final judgement. Y'all can do what you want, but I have my new source of rayon ( or whatever it is. At this point, I don't care what it is. ), as long as it lasts. The wife and I will probably have to have a vitamin D supplement for the rest of our lives anyway, so keep up the good work, NatureMade.

P.S., I think I'm gonna cut up a bunch of 3 inch long pieces of Sally's, put them in a big baggie and take them to my local B&M so they can hand them out to anyone wanting to give rayon a try. I don't think I'm gonna need it.
