Well, I found a source to purchase 3.5 gram/yard pharmaceutical rayon for ~$0.04/foot, but there is a minimum purchase of ~34,000 feet. I don't think I'm gonna need that much.

Where can i get Rayon?

There is a number of off beat sources we have found to obtain the fiber.

At first it was pharmaceutical bottles. Then we found Sally's/ graham cellucotton Rayon and medical rayon balls from tidi & delascos. It can also be found in eastern Europe at DM labled elbin viskose, the balls are great. Kotex U is another source if your desperate. Each of these fibers is a different quality grade and coarseness. Thus slightly different densities may be needed.

I am looking at sourcing the best quality Rayon and making it available so we don't have to hunt it down from various sources. Be on the lookout.

But still, sallys cellucotton, the most basic rayon fiber is still Rayon, other forms are slightly better but its not a deal breaker. If you can get Sally's - its perfectly fine and good and works as intended. FF massacred it into a tangled mess, and they obviously don't understand the fiber by looking at their tutorial and examples....

I rate quality of fiber in this order

1- Pharmaceutical Rayon - the original Rayon Wick and still arguably the best.

2 - DM/ elbin viskose balls & Tidi large balls

3- Delascos medium medical balls / KU Rayon

4- Sallys Graham cellucotton Rayon / FF


Cellucotton does have a slight edge in ease of use.

I wanted to stop by and share my new rayon adventure
I finally received my Movkin Luggy mod and tank I have been waiting for. The tank came with an rba base. I used rayon to wick the vertical coil. I found it much easier to work with than cotton wrapping around the coil. I forgot to take pictures. I plan on building another coil in it soon, and I will take some pictures when I do. I tried the Japanese cotton they provided with it, but I had a heck of a time with it. So, after several attempts I decided to try using my rayon. One try is all it took for me to wrap it around the outside of the coil using rayon. This was my first time using rayon on a vertical coil. I did not have much experience with vertical coils to begin with. Lol I cannot say it enough; I love rayon!

It would be more than that. I was rounding to make the math easy to do in my head. It would actually take 88 people willing to pay something like $20 for 389 feet each. Sally's is cheaper, but it's not pharmaceutical. Something to kick around, I guess.
