Just to add a bit to the battery discussion. Check out Mooch's blog post: 30A 18650 batteries. Apparently there is only one battery that has a continuous discharge of 30A, and that's the LG HB6 1500mAh. He does give the VTCs good marks though...

I didn't think there were any batteries with a continuous 30A output in a high mAh either... The Samsung 25R's work great in all my regulated devices.

Nope, and you're right. The 25Rs and VTC4s are about the best we're gonna get for a long time, as far as 18650s go. They are probably the best balance of CDR and mAh ratings. I typically use VTC4s in my mechs and VTC5s in my regulated mod. 400 mAh isn't much difference, but the VTC5s usually last as long as the tank does. Kinda convenient, I swap batteries and fill the tank about twice a day, and change my wicks about once a month. That's a low maintenance vape...

I thought there was something wrong with the Big German today, vapor production was very low, no sign of the No Liquid warning.

So I took it apart to have a look, everything looked good, the coils were a little dark and a wipe with a paper towel brought forth a little black. So I wiped all that away and hit the switch, just a few fine wisps of vapor rose from the deck and the paper towel I had used to wipe the coils was wet with juice.

The stock tank leaves about 1 ml of juice in the bottom that you can't vape out. If you put mesh feeder wicks in the juice holes that will assist in drawing up the last little bit. I have these wicks installed so I didn't think that would be the problem. Juiced up the coils and hit the button again for full vapor production.

So I reassembled the tank, closed off the juice control and filled it up. Opened the juice control up two full turns waited a few minutes then took a vape, everything was back to normal again!

Quite impressed with TC I is and you learn a little more with each go round.
10ml's down, many more to go!

Illumn is a great place to order from though. :) I've met the guys in person (set up my orders for will-call when I have errands down there) - really cool guys! :thumb:

Just when I make recommendations like that, I try to pick ones that are safe for EVERYBODY, because you just never know what some oddball's gonna try to do with them. Even if with disclaimers: they may apply to them now, but later on who knows? :2c:

If I am not mistaken, if a protected battery is overloaded or shorted, it simply stops working. I could be wrong, I know very little about anything.

Please don't feel bad ok.

In theory it would but that protection is known to fail and just too many people have overloaded them and had problems so we never recommend them anymore.

Lots of the vaping scares of its gonna blow up in your face stem from using those batteries. You can if your careful and maintain a safety net, we did use them in the past, but those are/should be considered obsolete for vaping purposes now a days.

We do like talking about batteries and such here. But let's not stray too far this early in the thread ok guys... Myself included. Lol

Congrats on using the technique to remove burnt juice. It should save you many unneeded rewickings in the future.

So your saying its temp control and it shut you down due to no juice feed from tank it sounds.

This morning I took my RDA deck off and simply flushed the rayon wick with water under the sink. Dried the RDA with a towel, and turned everything upside down on a wad of t-paper to wick dry the wick until it's dry.

Five minutes later: YEAH! Like a brand new wick in there!

Its kind of a free for all right now.. Where ever you can find it.

Sallys beauty supply store is in every large city. You can get the Graham cellucotton 100% Rayon there in a huge box for 12.00. Various places are repackaging it to smaller quantities online too.

Let me pull up a previous post and repost it here.

Yes I don't see why it can't be done doing it the way you did.

If the Rayon is touching something like a paper towel it will completely release the liquid to the towel and you'll have a like new dry wick. Shows how fast it releases juice without holding it.
