Phew, finally made it! For some reason it the last posts in the original rayon thread didn't show up in my alerts, just found them today when I checked my watched threads. Spent a good couple hours now going through these 20 pages!

@JeremyR great work on the intro! Very informative, and I don't think it's too overwhelming for newcomers.

I usually jinx myself whenever I say this, but I think I've finally figured out my Zephyrus. 2x 28g Ti, 6 spaced wraps, coming in at .17. Used about 1/4 width of Sally's in each coil. I really need to start marking the calendar or something when I do a new coil. I can't remember if I did this one yesterday or Thursday... I'm gonna go with Thursday. Only maybe 10ml or so through it so far, but so far so good. If it keeps going well I'll try to get some pics up next time I drain the tank. I think the deck is pretty similar to the Billow V2 pics that were posted, just the airflow holes are a little different.

I didn't think it was. Well see, I've made multiple changes all at once. I was doing anywhere from 1.2 ohms to 1.6 and ususally 12 or 13 watts and that was with cotton. Now I'm doing rayon, .72 ohms, 17 to 18 watts. The bad taste came when I dropped it to 13 watts and when I went to 22 watts, which didn't sound too high. Hell long as it's vaping ok at 17, I'll just sit here and toke and grin and shut up for a while. ;) Maybe a lil pull on some Tennessee shine.

I've noticed sometimes when I have the power too low I get more of a rayon taste that goes away when I turn the power up. I also have a Lemo 2 that I've yet to get figured out, but I think I have an issue between the very bottom base and the build base... not sure what the proper terms are for those parts. I can't get the very bottom to screw off, but I feel like the 510 might not be making a good connection. Fun fact: I drop things very often.

I have a question for you guys: When you guys use an RDA or subtank do you use less flavoring in your diy eliquids? The reason I ask is, I get much more flavor when using my rdas and subtanks, but it is too much flavor because it just tastes sweet to me like when you add too much flavoring when making eliquid. I do have I guess you could say sensitive taste buds, it does not take much flavoring to cancel the flavor out altogether for me. I really like my kanger subtank I got from a friend and my isub tank, but eliquids after about 1 to 2 puffs just taste sweet.

I try to keep my flavoring percentages pretty low when mixing, no matter the device. When I mix I try to keep my total flavoring below 5%, for this very reason. AFAIK generally the higher the wattage/airflow, the lower you want your flavoring, because there's more of it being vaped. I'm sure someone else will chime in, but maybe try cutting your DIY juice with some PG/VG and see if that helps.

I mix at really low percentages too. So low that I use the drop method when measuring. For 10ml of my hazelnut I use about 8 drops of hazelnut and 5 drops of vanilla cream (40PG/60VG 3mg nicotine) I plan to mix a batch even lower and try in my sub tank to see if it helps. Vendor eliquids are the same too in a subtank or rda, after about 1to 2 puffs all I get is sweet. I thought I would ask and see if anyone else has had a similar experience :) Thank you :)

you might want to try to mix at 50-50 1st as vg will add sweetener to a mix and maybe heating higher temp it brings it out more. just a thought..

@wvducklady : Vendor juices in general are all waaay too sweet for my tastes any more, hence why I DIY. LOL and since I've been using rayon I'm finding I can make my flavors last longer by mixing down my juices. I agree with artv61 tho, maybe go to 50/50 and see if that helps. I also add a bit of distilled water to my mixes to thin em out some, especially the higher VG ones.

also if it doesnt make a difference then you ruled out vg as a problem and then maybe try adding a little pg to store bought to bring down flavor % a touch. a little bit should give you an idea without ruining juice.
I also think in tanks the coils stay hot after a couple puffs and you are actually heating juice hotter so you might want to try lowering you watts or volts and see if something changes. just an elimination process really, but a controlled one.

Sitting down, facing forward.
DuckLady, I use the same percentages with my RBAs as I did with CE3s, clearos, cartos and everything else. None of my flavors are "sweet" since I'm a fan of tobacco and dry flavors. They "translate" well from device to device. I will say that with rayon and an RBA that allows lung hits it's probably a good idea to cut the nicotine down to avoid nicotine buzz. I DIY and use a gram scale (closet druggy) to maintain accuracy. Drops get too variable especially in small amounts. I usually mix six, or more, 60ml bottles at a time.

Does anyone here use an Aromamizer? Mine just came in the mail today and I was wondering if anyone had any recommended builds and/or wicking methods for it.

Don't have one yet but its on my list of things to buy soon. I met up with @Landman at a local vape shop and tried his aromamizer on his dna200 (wicked with rayon of course)......kick ayus to be sure!!!

I'm waiting, and waiting, for my Aromamizer to arrive. It seems there's a "processing error" at the local hub post office. Ordered it direct from Steam Crave which is only about an hour and a half from me. Waiting almost a week, so far.

I rarely ever use vendor eliquids. I was just using that as an example. The only time i do is if I win it in a contest. I prefer my diy over vendor eliquids any day :) I agree with you about rayon allows me to use less flavorings too!

I normally vape at 7watts to 7.4 watts top. The highest I have ever vaped at is 12 watts and not for very long. I will eventually figure out how to get the best taste with my sub tanks like I get from my FBC tank. I will have to like you said use an elimination process to figure it out.

I really appreciate everyone's ideas to help :)

It has been a while since I have changed the pg/vg ratio so I will try that again :) I have not tried that since I got my dripper, which was not that long ago. I mostly only vape my diy hazelnut :) which is super yummy!
Thank you :)

I vape at 3mg nicotine and sometimes 2mg nicotine already :) it took me a long time to get my hazelnut perfect, and when I started using the drops method I finally did. It tastes the same everytime for me. My hazelnut and vanilla flavorings are considered sweet flavors, so I have always assumed the sweet was from the flavoring when using a sub tank or rda since they are meant to give more flavoring.

Thank you :)
