Welcome to the obsession! Everything I've ever used is non-sterile. If I have any doubts, I just rinse, dry, wick and go. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions, we're a pretty good group of @$$holes here :D

Hi all,

I've been reading up on using Rayon for wicking and although I've read a lot of pages on this thread, I can't seem to find my answer - regarding the Tidi balls, is it ok/safe to buy the ones that say "non-sterile"?

Thank you!

Sterile or not, I don't think I'd vape

In sure this has been addressed somewhere in this thread, but what brand and type of rayon is best for a current KGD user to start off with?

Many, self included, use Graham Cellucotton, around $12 will get you a near life-time supply, Sally's Beauty shops. (Do be aware that they make two kinds, one is 100% rayon, that's the one you want. The other isn't rayon (or it's a rayon / cotton mix, CRS... ;) )

For a beginner @JeremyR has said that for accessibility & ease of use Graham's Cellucotton rayon found at Sally's is easier to use. I've found it to be true as I'm a newb too. I ordered Delasco's rayon balls that Jeremy said was a step better & I'm saving it for when I get better, the balls require more dexterity than Graham's.

Another Graham's newbie here :). I tend to run 2.5 - 3mm ID coils. Cut a couple inch piece of cellucotton in half, lengthwise, and that gives two coils' worth.

I find the cellucotton user friendly. I can twirl it back and forth to compress it and get a point for threading, it stays together well. It works well for rewicking vertical coils in place, as long as there's a bit of space to grab the wick tip with tweezers.

@Rayonati Sloth hi! Where have you been? Just wanted to let you know I'm finally going to try squonking. For only $19 Eciggity has on clearance the Kangertech Drip box 60w. I figured since it was so cheap I'll try it to see if I like squonking before making the investment into one of the big boys you have.:D Also picked up the Tobeco Velocity v2 clone $17.99 since it comes with a squonking pin.

Come out of hiding lol!;)

So i would just treat it like the normal way i use with cotton but slightly more density. Thanks for the reply.

Welcome Ejlv! Welcome to ecf and good on making the Rayon thread your first stop!

You can start like that and work from there... Depending how you vape it may work for you.

Follow the guidelines in the op and you can wick anything with a few tries. The wick will tell you if it likes your work or not. If you get any sensation of a problem or dry hit the first day, check the wick for full contact in the coil and coloring of the tails.

On the Gamma V2 genesis, I stayed tight through the deck, then made sure a wispy tail ran all the way to the bottom That seemed to work well (waiting for my Avocado 24 vapemail :) )

I've seen others urge a short wick in the tank body -- as usual YMMV :)

One concern with fiber wicks and genesis tanks is lack of venting to prevent vacuum lock as the liquid is consumed. Ideally a hole in the deck on the opposite side from the wick hole/holes. Alternative is to make the coil smaller than the wick hole but swelling of the wick or surface tension of the liquid can still block the air flow through the wick hole area.

Anybody ever bought anything from Vape Royalty? I haven't, but I just ordered the iJoy Limitless from them shipped for $30.02. They were the only ones I could find today that said they had them in stock. I hope I'm not going to regret it. This dude looks like it's screaming to be wicked with rayon.

Hey all!

back to vaping again after a 4 month stress-related cigarette binge. I can't for the life of me remember how I use to roll the perfect wick with my rayon? I feel like every wick I've made so far is feathering with short fibers, not sure what I am doing wrong...

but does anyone know of good you tube where they show you how to properly roll and wick an rda (I use an odin if that helps).

thanks in advance!

The Limitless does not, unfortunately, come with a 510 adapter. It *is* completely comparable with all things Griffin, as well as the Kennedy/Goon proprietary tips. I ordered one from HMM (Half Moon Mods) and it fits beautifully (press fit).

I'm picking up some rayon today for the first time, with the intent of eventually transitioning to it completely. I feel like I've got the main concept, but does anyone here know how it performs / any special tricks needed for use with the Modfather RTA? I won one in a raffle recently and it'll be here tomorrow (hopefully). Any tips or tricks to prevent headaches would be greatly appreciated.
