Simple single coil 22ga ss wicked w/ rayon. This is a pancake rda I'm using on a mech squonker.
For the 1st time I'm liking this rda!
Thanks to everyone in this thread for the help and answering all my ?'s.
Any suggestions on ways to improve this is appreciated.

Only one suggestion. I'd rotate the coil 90° and put the coil more in the center of the build deck. You want the airflow to hit the sides of the coil instead of the ends. Other than that, it looks like you've done a nice job of stuffing the coil and trimming the tails. At least from what I can see. :thumb:

I don't accept any regulation from a fraudulent government. I'm not afraid of breaking thier so called laws. I live by the Ten Commandments and the Constitution, the rest is mostly hogwash... What are they gonna send cops to my house for a cigarette.. Dictate much?
Like this 100 times :) To be honest, I could care less about alot of their regulations. They are hypocrites and definitely frauds.

I was trying to get the coil closer to the single air flow. That's also why I wicked it on the opposite side. I'll try to rotate it on the next coil.
Are you suggesting I wick this the opposite way, or just angle the coil like this \ instead of _?
I appreciate the help, this is just another reason I enjoy this thread!

Well, seeing that you're running the airflow from only one side, then yes. Closest to the air slot as possible is what you want. Either way, you want the side of the coil facing the air slot. You currently have the end of the coil facing the air slot. Also, I never run the wick on just one end of the coil. I prefer to have tails coming out of both ends if possible. Just thin them appropriately. I hope that helps, it's kinda hard to see much with just an overhead view of the coil, and it's difficult to explain exactly what I'm thinking, too...

it was 5 months to the day that my Bachelor build started going south. I was going to wait until my Note 7 came in, so I could take decent pictures, but I couldn't resist. It was a little tricky getting the 5mm notch coil's legs to fit and I had to trim the wicks a lot. I finally got where I thought it should be though and it's working like a champ. We'll see if it holds up as well as the last one. I could live with rebuilding it a couple times a year If I had to.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Ya know, I was thinking about the whole vaping versus smoking thing while refilling a Bachelor today and how a few smokers have told me that "vaping is too much trouble and work". I never had to "clean" a cigarette before smoking it but I am a stickler about cleaning the exterior, 510 well, top cap and 510 on all of my attys and cleaning the exterior of the mod and its' 510 at each refill as well. Then again, I haven't had to clean or wash an ashtray in over four years now. Haven't managed to burn a hole in my clothes, the rugs or the furniture either. Plus there's no cigarette stink on me, my clothes, the car or the house. Pretty good trade off in my book.

I don't see it as trouble, and definitely not work. It really is a hobby. What had become real work when I smoked, was breathing.
And yeah, you don't clean a ciggy before you light up, that comes after.... ;)

And the $$. Sure, many of us have more gear and supplies than we initially thought, especially since the dooming, but hardware pro-rates out over its life. Ashes are already at end of life.

Not even looking at down the road medical costs!

exactly the reason insurance companies should be endorsing vaping,,, instead of sending money to the medical industry they could be accumulating more $$$$$$$$$$$$$/ profits

...and when I say "working like a champ", I mean leaking like a sieve! I think I thinned the tails a little too much. I have to shut off the juice flow control every time I'm going to be letting it set more than a minute or two or it siphons all the juice out of the tank into the airflow chamber and out of the airflow holes. I'm gonna have another go at it later. Maybe I'll take pics. My package left Tulsa this morning, If the lying liars aren't lying this time.

I found out the first time I wicked a Bachelor that the wick holes need to be pretty snug. What I do is trim the wick down in width, but leave it long. Then I fold and stuff it into the bottom on the channel and on up trimming it flush at the top. A little more "snip and tuck" and it's done. No more leaks and still runs like a champ, especially when you consider it's a single coil tank!

Thanks for the pro-tip, awsum140.

If it wasn't for the fact that it is an absolute sure thing I will forget to shut off or turn on the juice flow control, I wouldn't even bother trying to fix it. It's vaping great as is. I'm just not to be trusted with such critical responsibilities.

With it being a 5mm notch coil with a full strand of Sally's going through it, I'm having a little trouble adjusting to it. I'll get it though, because the density inside the coil seems perfect so I think taking the time to get the tails right will be worth the trouble in the long run.
