I've been thinking about trying squonking and this rda looks interesting. What's a good inexpensive squonker to try?
I don't have any mechanical squonkers, but everyone seems to like the Copper Vape best. I have the Wraith, DripBox 2 and VT Inbox as regulated squonkers, and the Inbox is the best quality of the three (DNA75).

The Hidra might be decent too. I might have to pick one of those up.

I only use regulated mods and I love the VT inbox with the centered 510 connection. Going to have to do some research now.

Got to love it.. I'm staying with it myself. Giving all my cotton pads to my wife and daughter for make up removal. LoL

Ha ha. A guy on another forum tried his gf ebelin balls after I mentioned it.
Said he won't use cotton again.:)

Apparently, in Germany the ebelin is also available as a long flat sheet.

Good point. The chlorine I'm not too worried about, that stuff usually dissipates fairly well. The potential pesticides on the other hand could be an issue. I would think that if they weren't washed off well it would leave a residual taste, not sure. Since the stuff is designed for direct skin contact they may take extra steps to make sure all the nasties are gone before they package it.

For now I guess I'll just keep staring at the boxes. Maybe @jcash74 has some thoughts on the matter.

My only cotton ("organic" Muji) tasted of pesticide (I use really low flavour juice-
and I felt slightly ill the few months I used it.
If tencel didn't work out, I was going to silica or ss mesh.

More than 18 months after I got that pack of "organic" Muji it still stinks of pesticide & makes me slightly ill after smelling it.

"organic" my RRRs

Prove to me certified organic cotton exists.:)

Maybe your cotton is fake or cheap??? I bought some pads a while ago and I could only get 1 tank use with it. After that it tasted like crap. Those are the ones going to my wife and daughter for make up removal. I had some good cotton once that lasted quite a while. I think it was that Ken do Jo or something like that???

I should try some Ekowool in my Engines someday... Why not, it used to be my go to wick.

since you are already used to unreg mods,, you will likely like squonking once you get your squonk rhythm down,, then you dont even think about it.

i spent most of today squonking against my will :) as my adv mod was on strike.

My gf has the inbox, only thing I don't like about it is it's not easy to clean due to the way it's designed, she always uses the same juice though. I use the therion bf which has a nice short squonk assembly that's easy to clean and put different juice in.

I'm surprised you're still using the battery/bottle separator, most peeps think it's easier to squonk without it. If nothing else it makes battery swaps a little quicker. I file 13'd my separator after a few days and like it better without it.

The bottom tab broke off my separator, so pulling it for battery swaps is easy [emoji5]. Without the tab it is convenient, holds the bottle well.

Yeah tbh Idk why I use it, works fine w/out it... I'll probably use it till I break it.

First post and read the entire thread, tons of good stuff.

So question: Has anyone wicked something like a swan coil as seen here https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DzSs_6HhJU-0&ved=0ahUKEwi3jZmojIzUAhVh2oMKHWEkB1IQwqsBCCUwAg&usg=AFQjCNGAn4khcfbpyB1K4Pe5A5Mgj7G_rA&sig2=e6aE7h2a-uaqE7ifN3ukvw ? There are two ways, you can wrap the wick around or through it. I'd like to try rayon with it, especially wrapping it around to get that center airflow but not sure of I should use two strands of rayon and trim the tails at the well to keep it wicking up or if I'll be limited to wicking through the chimney. I plan to use it on a squonker Drone with the Aeronaut rda v2 and hope rayon will transport the eliquid up to the top nicely. Once I get it built I can post pics if necessary but it will be after shipping.

Loving rayon on my temple rda and thanks for this huge thread of information.

Okay. Looks like I can't post links yet. But the one I watch is by Ohmboy Josh, search aeronaut and swan coil. Thanks for any insight! Cheers.

Hello Rayonites. What should I do when one side of the wick is darkened/burnt and the other side relatively clean?
Simply remove, you can pick it out with your pointy tweezers & cut it off. It means that side had a little too much rayon. @JeremyR had posted about it. After you cut it off check after a bit & it should have cleared up.

Does anyone know how to prep the wick to get rid of that "new wick taste"?

I absolutely adore rayon now, still vaping from my 500ft box from Sally's. But that new wick taste is awful. Tried soaking it in water, tried flushing with water, tried boiling it, it only reduces it a little.

How to get it out completely? I have to "back vape" 3 drippers full of juice (blowing into the Velocity RDA) to get enough juice through there to get the new wick taste out.

Thanks!
-John

Easy, after building & wicking drip juice on your coil & pulse, fire your mod, do that a few times & your wick is primed. Then assemble your rda, rba, rta whatever.
