OK, so i just bought mine from Man-Made Fibers - Mielke's Fiber Arts. luckily for me, they accepted PayPal and i had some money sitting there lol. hopefully it comes soon. i may pay it forward and send some samples out to interested parties who want to try it and don't want to commit to the price tag yet.

That would be nice of you.. Quite a bit can fit in an envelope with one stamp.. Thinking you could even have them mail you a dollar or to and you send them back the sample.

can someone post photo of burned rayon? today i buy 100% viscose and i want compare it afret burn test

Video from tencel manufacturer

Note-

I don't like the *top type fiber as much so far... it's similar to working with ramie but slightly different. Which is fine.. But I like the other cut better... I find it much more versatile... Maybe it's called rayon/ or tencel batting?? Hopefully I can find a source.

I will post some pics of the two types of fibers so y'all can see the difference. We are still in the beginning of searching vendors so I wouldn't order a ton yet. The top is not as versatile as the batting however it's still pretty good. Doesn't seem to wick as well as the batting type I had and its stiffer.

heres something for ya
decided to change flavors in a kayfun..now these flavors are pretty different..
only took a hit or two to get rid of old flavor....
it takes alot longer for cotton to get rid of old flavor. in fact, i usually rewick when changing flavors. dont have to now
It is the best wicking material short of SS wicks for changing flavors. Run lightly under cold water to wet fibers, compress with finger tips, and it is virtually brand new again. No residual tastes from previous flavor.

Until yesterday, I would never have thought I would ever start geeking out over fabric. What has vaping done to me?
You sound like you've not been vaping too long. Who else out there remembers the tea bag, blue foam, etc days of 510 atomizers?

I've been giving it some thought, and it occurs to me that I might try using cotton as a 'bed' to hold juice for the convenience of it's conformity and saturation, and pull the wick into--underneath. If I used a thinned KGD pad, I could use a cap as a template and cut out for the center and be free to keep the air intake fee ad lib. A lyocell wick would get the benefit of a nice soft featherbed!

I've been vaping for 3 or 4 years now. Never messed with those Cisco 306 atties I used to drip on. I do remember the blue foam days though.

Well so far not getting along with *top fibers of any kind. Ramie, or tencel top, both have the same issues.. They don't come close to bottle rayon wicking ability... I've had some trouble Getting the tencel top to perform well. The rayon ('pharmacuitical coil') is a lot better.

I'm chopping and mixing to see if I can make tencel more like the pharmacuitical rayon.

Tencel *Top - is like ramie *top to work with, if you've tried that. There are guys that have success with it.

I still stand behind rayon being safe to use. Also I've been doing a lot of research to see if I can find tencel in that same cut.

Here's some comparison pics so you can see the difference...
Rayon on the right - tencel *top on the left.

@. Shroom - yeah there's a fiber process that they put crimps in it. The b rayon looks like its got crimps.

& weinner - good idea, will have to give it a try.. It may work.. The copped is looking better, so far after som trials I cut 3 pieces at 1/4", 3 at 1/2", 1 at 1 inch. Mixed all together in a pot, then formed what looked like a rope.. Will try more of the smaller cuts next try... There were some stray fibers laying around and when put together they looked better.. But the rayon fibers are finer the tencel is a thicker individual fiber.

@ Brian - yeah Ramie *top is the same way but even stiffer than tencel when wet.

I've been researching heavily for a source of the type of fiber we need for the full effect of the bottle rayon... Which is called a coil, it's the perfect type of fiber.

This is it. Vvv .. Notice the description - can be pulled apart.

Rayon Coil Rope 26 Gram 20lbs/Unit

That would take a group buy.. Lol
