I got the CC sent to me by Cloud Ninja today. Thanks so much you are very generous indeed. I should have enough CC to test and more for a few months. This stuff looks nothing like what I have seen in med bottles (much more consistent fibers). Now, I have to get busy and rewick a couple of attys. I'll report back with my results soon.

well yeah in my Rm2 it's working great but it's a squonker. I'm wondering if rayon cannot keep up with small coils in tank systems.

I'm 2 weeks into this on the lowly Evod. 30g contact microcoils 7 wraps at 1.7 ohms 90vg juice. Vapor is the same to slightly better than cotton and the flavor, well like Jeremy said, it's almost like drinking your juice.

I think any limitation on small coils would be limited to watts. Too much heat could use up the juice faster than the tiny wick can supply. I've maxed out at 9.5 watts and couldn't be happier.

I figure I'm doing something right when the clouds obscure my girlfriend across the room for a few seconds:) Sure puts the stock Kanger heads to shame. Oh, and no more gurgles or flooding.....ever :toast:

vassilbg........

ive always had good results draping the tails onto the wall and just touching the deck...
never covering juice channel.
id be willing to say you might be a little lite on the cc

Brian, I think you were correct... performance has dropped off a bit. I'm going to take it apart and trim the tails so they are just touching the deck. If its sagging off the wick, I'll re-wick with more, but if its not, I'll just trim and re-set and see how it goes.

Follow up to post earlier post asking for advice. Same coil but I re-wicked w/ less CC. These pic's after after 2 tanks.

This side of the coil is still looking relatively clean. Although the juice in the CC is a bit off-color compared to cotton.

Ah-ha - looking at the other side of the coil, not so good. It's starting to gunk up.

So - be careful of you wick alignment w/ respect to the air hole on a KFL/Russian. I saw that my coil is not directly over the air hole.

Oddly to me, the gunked side sits 'inside' the inner diameter of the air hole and the cleaner side is 'outside' the inner diameter of the air hole. So the side getting more air is gunking up faster. I would have thought it the other way around.

Anyhow - time to re-wick (think I try even a little less CC) and align the coil properly.

Yes, that's what I think!

You guys may be right, it's only been short of 3 weeks that rayon's been used widely.

Only 1.4mm at high power I saw that was working well was bedded.

It's an awful tiny wick through coil.

However a 1/16 in an evod on a ego with no overwick performs excellently.

Me either. Made it a point to mention the 500 ft is 10.99 from Sally's or to just ask stylist for some, mine gave me 5 or 6 ft free

A little quick math (hope I am not wrong and embarrass myself) but at $3 dollars for two feet that is about $740 profit per 500 foot box.

Don't forget the labor to put it in the little baggies!!! Where is the rolleyes smiley... Nevermind, that works better anyway.

Back on topic, my wife was frustrated with both an EVOD and her KFL+ clone tonight, complaining both were burnt. The EVOD head was like 2 days old... So I rewicked both with CC and her eyes lit up on both when she tried them for the first time. I think we need to clear a space for one more on the bandwagon!

My wife's evod has been working better than ever with the she says. Then the other day she said it tasted burnt.. The tank was conpletLy Empty! Lol

It's got a 1/16 5/6 wrap spaced coil, just a simple piece of rayon *no over wick* 1.8 ohm on ego. No leaks no problems.

It great that I can vape away on my rba tank and the first hint of any dryness, I open the tank and its bone dry! Never had it so good.

I just finished setting up my EHPro Kayfun style atomizer with CC. I'm running a 1.4 ohm vertical coil @ 3.7 v. The first few drags
(about 5) I got the dreaded funky taste, but it dissipated quickly. I've heard it described as sweet or salty, neither describes the taste I got accurately. To me it is more like what I get from a slightly flooded atomizer. It's like the taste of the juice droplets that I get on my tongue. I also got poor vapor production on those first few drags(also a sign of a flooded coil). But, like I said at the beginning of this post, it was only for the first few drags. Now that has passed and I'm really enjoying the flavor and vapor production. I have used Hemp fiber for several months and Ramie for about a month (never used cotton). How does it compare you ask? Comparing CC to Hemp, CC hands down. Hemp has a earthy, woody taste, that is imparted onto the juice. It's not a bad taste and actually compliments the taste of some tobacco flavored juices(re: 555 Hangsen). Comparing CC to Ramie, that's a tough one. Ramie is an excellent wicking material, the taste and vapor I get from Ramie are excellent. The drawback is like Tencel Ramie gets stiff when it's wet, which makes it a little more challenging to work with. That being said the flavor and vapor of both are excellent and to me pretty much equal. The tie breaker is that CC is easier to use and cheaper than Ramie. These are my first impressions and subject to further analysis. At this point barring someone finding hard evidence of something noxious in CC I'll be using it on a regular basis. Thanks again to Cloud Ninja for sharing his CC with me and thanks to JeremyR for this thread. Vape long and vape strong.

tip update!

It's better to pull the rayon section you want off instead of cutting it.

That leaves a nice tapered tail for you to point!
You mean vertically, after you snip your length of coil from the box, right?
I did that first. I snipped my length, flattened it evenly, and cut it in thirds for my wicks. But while doing so, I noticed that there were separate threads in there - it wasn't all fluff - and I had snipped through some of the threads, making them uneven in thickness through the length of the wicks. So I scrapped those, tried it again, but this time I carefully separated them with two toothpicks to try to keep the threads intact.

One bad thing about being able to taste EVERYTHING so accurately: My juice has steeped to something really awful! :grr:
It was def the juice. I rinsed and recoiled, and it was the same god-awful flavor.

Changed out my week old wick because I was suddenly getting a rather nasty taste on my Kayfun. This was after 8 tankfuls. After the wick change same taste. Don't think its vapor's tongue because food tastes odd too now. I'm thinking meds, allergies or a cold. It isn't the CCr wick.

What's of extreme interest though is the condition of the wick I removed. Almost completely clean with just a bit of discoloration under the coil. Not the nasty stuff I'd find on cotton after 2 or 3 tanks but just a dirty brown instead of sludge. And the coil, after 3x as many tanks as I've ever gotten with cotton, was almost completely free of sludge. I dry burned it out of habit but I got no ash on the coil. There really wasn't anything there to remove.

So unless at some future date there's indications its bad for me, I'm going to nothing but CCr. Easily 3x+ life, much cleaner coils, no sludge buildup combined with the wetter better tasting vape makes it a no brainer for me.

That's exactly how I do my Evods, 32g (I'm po' and only have Evods and Vision VTs on Spinners). And yes, that empty tank thing has happened to me too.
Before, it would just stop vaping or spit at me when it got low. I don't think I had ever been able to vape it completely empty before.

Wow, deja vu, and I think we were posting at the same time! Except I think the juice changed on me, because my food's been fine. Luckily it was the last tankfull.
