Finally decided to jump in and join. Thanks to my buddy Drifter for reminding me. On this build dual 24ga wrapped 4 times on a 1/8th drill bit. .21 ohms. iTeo style wicking. It was choking it up because I used too much. After that wick I wicked a normal cotton way. Much much better. Dense hit like cotton but a little head rush. Glad to join in. :) Don't mind that big'ol box.

I put this in the Magma tonight. Everything said about this is balls on. Better wicking, cleaner wick, less gunk, more flavor, more nic hit.

I'm not vaping Rayon, like I'm not vaping cotton or silica. I'm vaping HHV. I don't like vaping cotton or rayon. It doesn't taste good and hurts. I'm just glad to be using this rayon as a wick. This I know.

Stay in denial boys, Using synthetics under those heat loads and ingesting what comes off.

Spin it any way you want...peace of mind is priceless.

Keep up the Chicken Little act. Every forum needs one.

I suppose you also think 9/11 was an inside job and the moon landing was fake?

I emailed Phil about rayon and gave him the link to this thread to get it more out in the Mainstream and see what he thinks of it.i only hope this helps the rayon cause I can say one thing I have been wicking with sallys rayon for a month and it started to make me real sick.so after i realized what caused me to be sick I started boiling sallys rayon out in distilled water and I could see the excess salt coming off the rayon and some small spots of what looked to be an oily substance.so now everything is fine no more sickness and I have tested this for the last week and if I try to vape the sallys rayon without boiling it out I am sick with in an hour but as long as I boil it out I am fine now I do have type 2 diabetes so all I can think of is the excess salt and oily substance is not good for my diabetes.so i am just puting it out there so people who use the sallys rayon know I love rayon and find it to be the best stuff yet to wick with and can never go back to anything else and I don't think all the sallys rayon is like this but my box of it is so if anyone has any problems or a salty taste boil your rayon out.

So what's the trick with cc and kayfuns? I keep getting dry hits.

Sent from my HTC One

For me I take half of the puff on each side and cut the top off. This leaves a smaller tail on the bottom of the CC on each side of the coil. I then put juice on the coil and tails. Then lightly lay the tails on top of the juice channels and add the bottom chimney section. Then I adjust the tails to lay over the channels and close it up.

I bought some CC from Sally's yesterday, but I have a quick question... What's the best way to wick this on a RDA? I'm currently mainly using my Copper Quasar.

I'm wicking the Magma the exact same way with cc as I do with cotton. With better results.

cotton expands with liquid so little is better
rayon contracts with liquid so you need to stuff it a bit more

it will be trial and error

I've been experimenting, too, with cc. At first I was making a coil with a 5/64 drill bit, stuffing the coil and laying the wicks along the ledge above the wick channels as I did with the cotton in the shape of an L. All seemed fine, but I then made a larger coil (around 2.5mm) so that it would be easier to thread the cc through it. The cc was so thick, though, that I couldn't position it in the form of an L along the ledge, so I just cut it so that the ends were just above the channels on the ledge. Well, that didn't work. I got dry hit after dry hit. Now, I've gone back to the smaller coil and the L-shaped wicks, but I'm using more cc than I previously did with cotton because it shrinks instead of expands. No dry hits now. I'm not sure what was causing the dry hits before. Was it the larger diameter of the coil, or the extra cc? Your thoughts would be appreciated. I should have said that this was on a Kayfun Lite+.

Sandy,

I don't know why you had the problems you had but it sounds like a little more CC did the trick.

I am using a KF3.1 but as far as wicking they are both the same the KFL and 3.1. I wicked mine with about a 2mm coil and enough CC that I am able to drag the wick back and forth in the coil with a fair amount of friction. I then cut off the wick ends to just reach the bottom of the well deck (no L shape) just barely touching the bottom. I actually was concerned that I cut them off too short but it worked with no dry hits from the get go.

The only time I have trouble with my Kayfun is when I over fill the tank. If I don't leave a pretty big air pocket at the top there is just too much vacuum to allow the juice to enter the tank well.

I fill using the bottom port with the Kayfun upside down (duh) and fill until the juice level reaches about a third of the way up the clear window. If I add anymore juice than that it will dry hit, wick slowly, just generally give me problems no matter what wick material I use.

Anyway not much help I am sure but the Kayfun has always given me trouble wicking and as I said if you over fill the tank it will not work very well at all regardless of the wick material. Try what you would think is under filled and I'll bet you find that solves a lot of problems. "Go-Figure"
