Rayon wick, better flow, flavor, saturation and Nic Hit!

i thought i saw someone a little way back mention something about a magma not wicking to good with rayon, i remember it was a french guy, well anyway, i thought it was just me and ive tried a few differant things now with the wicking and cant seem to get it perfected in the magma, i get dry hits when there seems to be juice in the bottom of the well, ...
i'm using 1/16th id dual coils, 26g, 6 or 7 wraps each, so theyre not long coils that would crease the rayon coming out the end bending down into the chambers....the only other thing i can think i can do do is to make the 1/16th coils into nano's so as there is less wick coming down into the chamber...& wether its likely to too much mass in the chamber or the bend of the rayon

I've had no problem with in my Magma, but then I'm using 5/64" coils. 8 or 9 wraps for a .69ohm build and vape 70% or more VG juices. I just try and make sure my wicks are touching the bottom of the well. The bends at the end of the coils seem to make little if any difference. As a side benefit I do not get any juice leaking out the air holes like I do with the cotton - most likely from trying to overfill.

So rayon clearly doesn't go up in a flash when it's inside a coil... amazing to watch really.

I just rewicked my first rayon build after 8 days, amazing, I've never lasted this long with cotton, and it still was great but the juice well on my origen was really dark

I have read from the begining to page 9 , ordered Tencel and was about to order the rayon balls then thought I better jump ahead and see what new/ improved rayon has been found . What is cc and where can I find it, is that the stuff ? Ill start reading backwards also but if someone would help that'll be great

Go to your local Sally's Beauty Supply and ask for "beauty coil". You want 100% rayon called CelluCotton made by Graham. It's in a blue and white box about a foot in all dimensions for the 500' box. The number on the box is 44060. Make sure it's 100% rayon and not the reinforced rayon.

I would suggest reading back a bit, like about 50 pages or so. Lots of good tips and JeremyR has a great video on how to use the cellucotton. That will save you a lot of frustration working with it.

CC = cellucotton 100% rayon. You can get a 500ft box of it at Sally's Beauty stores for about $11. I'm using it and it's great! Look for the #44060 on the box. You can wick for the rest of your life with that box [emoji12][emoji106]

PS - even if you didn't get free shipping the 1 cubic foot box only weights about 8 oz. so it shouldn't be expensive.

I've been using now for about a month now. In one of my full-sized Russians I use 100% VG and the first tank is awesome. However after refilling it and using it for a while I always get a weird taste. Every single time. I've tried different sized coils, different amounts of wick....nothing works. After the first tank, the taste is awful.

Any ideas as to what is going on?

Wick is too small. The test process is run an hour or a tank and check for density. Should be in full contact with the coil. The taste is coil dry burn due to wick shrinking when all the air pockets are purged from it. Losing contact in top of coil.

They are as bad as the e-juice vendors that advertise free shipping. Then you read the fine print and find out it's free if you spend a gazillion dollars.

But... If you like CC and I am sure you will you may never have to buy wicking material ever again. 500 feet is a lot of wick.

I have wicked everything I own and I still haven't used up more than two feet. Cellulous Rayon the gift that just keeps on giving.

Hope to get it working on a RM2, saw a while back someone tried without good results , thats all im using for now, do have a Magma in the post that will be here soon, ill try rayon on that first if every thing times out like I think it will

I had to look up what an RM2 was. That should work really good with CC. I am also not familiar with the Magma but I have seen several post in this thread some had a few problems getting it right and other had no problem at all. "Go-Figure" but you should be able to get it going just fine.

I might be inclined to start with the RM2 just because from the vid I watched it should be dog simple with CC.

Been using CC in my RM2's for nearly 5 weeks ... works fantastic. I posted a picture of one of my CC wicks on an RM2 last week here on this thread .. at that point I'd already put 60ml thru it and it was still vaping great.

You are forgetting the size of the box. And, for $5.95, to not have to walk past the display of human hair 5 times looking for rayon is a bargain. I thought the store was creepy.

That is the reinforced stuff. I wouldn't vape it IMO. Not sure what the reinforcement is made of. Could be cotton cord, could be something plastic.
