You going to make me dust off my DID and AGA-T now?!

Did 6 builds this morning. Re-coiled 3 KFL's to 1.3ohm using 28g on 3/32 (2.3mm) drill bit and also 3 drippers (Trident, Igo W3 & W6) to 1.2ohm single coils again using 28 g on 5/64 (1.98mm) drill bit. All wicked with Rayon.

Need to re-do the build on my Reo Grand with BF Era. See how that works. It's been put away for way too long.
The raver made me do it! Still doesn't touch my Fv4's what's this BF Era your trying out?

Simply to get a feel for rayon, something like the Taifun GS (don't know about the GT…yet) might be a good investment. GS clones run in the $25 - 30 range, and once you get the stainless steel mesh side wicks working right, it's about a 2-minute job to re-wick the short centre portion—through the coil out to the ss feeders.

A lot less hassle than re-wicking e.g. my Russian 91%s. I tend to put those off until they're practically demanding to be re-wicked.

As a side benefit, the Taifun GS is an impressive little unit in its own right: it's less prone to leaking out the + post than the Russians I own, easier to rebuild, and packs the same amount of punch. No adjustable air flow, but on the other hand you don't need a screwdriver to refill it.

So where can I purchase a small amount of rayon to test it out, without committing to an entire box?
Pages back, someone is offering 10' for $1.99 as the best sample price. Just search the thread, perhaps 10' would be enough to find it.

I received some Delasco rayon balls today, I believe they are medical grade. It seems more uniform and there's less fly-aways than CelluCotton rayon, with a subtly different texture. For repeatable results and ease of use, I think it may be an improvement over CCr but still not on the level of KGD.

I loaded to drippers with Pirate's Drunken Sweet Tooth from RiverBottom to do a side-by-side comparing Delasco with CCr. My first impression of Delasco is the flavor is very clean right away, potent and pure; I'm just tasting the juice. Next up the the CCr.. very clean right away, potent and pure; I'm just tasting the juice. Yep, whatever flavor differences that may show up between the two are probably going to be very subtle. I wouldn't be able to tell which is which blindly at this point.

So to some up my very early impressions of Delasco; if you don't like CCr you probably won't like this rayon either. I would suggest the Delasco over CCr purely for ease of use, and that it may be a purer, better prepared product. If someone has and loves CCr, I don't see a big hurry to seek out Delasco. I find both products golden, though I am switching to the Delasco. At least until rayon pads are discovered lol.

Ok guys. Best vape yet. Magma rda 10 wraps of 28 gauge on 1.4mm metering at 0.9 ohms. Couldn't believe it myself. Look at the height of this coil. And never a dry hit after 3 complete refills of the magma huge well. If you know magma you know the well and how deep it goes with respect to the coil. I'm telling you every time bone dry. I dunno if I'm lucky or just got the hang of density but this build is not budging. A 1.4mm coil wicking at this rate is just unbelievable.

Addit: it doesn't wick from the get go but the first time you build it wet it all and once wet it never stops.

I was almost ready to give up on rayon.I have been trying every day since last saturday to get it right with no luck,i got to the point of it being ok after a few days, but still got dry burnt hits every once in a while.By yesterday,i was ready to throw the 12' i bought right into the trash as i have never had an issue with cotton.Just as i decided to give it 1 last shot,i remembered reading a post somewhere in here about pulling it through until you feel a "squeek",i had read that several days ago and forgot about it,well that is the perfect way to know it's right.I put some in both coils on my fogger, pulled until i felt the squeek, filled it up,and perfect hits every time.I puffed on it all day today just to make sure, and i have been so happy with it that i pulled both my kayfuns apart and rewicked them, same thing, perfect hits everytime. Now i'm gonna rewick my patriot, helios, and trident with it.I almost lost hope, and then finally seen the light haha.

Picked up the giant box today and sadly I think I will be trying to return it or pay it forward here in Columbus. I did not notice much difference between my Sugar 'N Cream cotton yarn. I must be doing something wrong? Maybe the advantage is for the sub ohm crowd? I have a Tobh and I haven't bothered changing it out yet based on my experience with the following setup:

Aerotank Mega - rebuilt latest gen dual coil as 3mm single - 1.8 ohm with 28 gauge Kanthal

Vamo v5, 15 watts powered by Efest 18350 (purple)

With yarn I am getting tons of flavor and vapor already (in the Tobh as well) Cellucotton didn't change much.

I really wanted it to be awesome.

Well.....recoiled and rewicked two of my Kayfuns with Rayon. Both are at 1.35 ohms with a 2.4mm (3/32) diameter coil. Nothing fancy with the wicking method...Been vaping them all day and the flavor is great. Cleaner and slightly better than cotton. No dry hits.....but frankly, I didnt get them with cotton either. This stuff really shines for me with my RDAs....its still good with the Kayfuns but again, only my first try with them.

So you are saying that although I am getting the same amount of flavor and vapor as the yarn, there is more to be unlocked?

I don't want to be a downer, but I wanted to share my experience on my setup. I haven't done any long term tests obviously, but wick longevity is at the very bottom of my list. Yarn is so simple to change out.

My juices are 0 nic if that matters, I haven't smoked a cigarette in a long time.

I've a bunch of 2+ ohm kanger and aspire coils, no sub ohm here. Some 1.5-2.0 gennies too.

Well I had to try it. Got the big Sally's box. Set it up on my R91 1.5 Ohms 30ga Kanthal six wraps on my drill bit (not sure what size it is). first couple hits awesome flavor, great vapor, and seemed smoother or perhaps cleaner, then gack cough DRY HIT. So I broke her down and tried again with ALOT more material and voila perfect no dry hits for days even when chain vaping. About this time my wife was complaining about her Protank again so after about 5 of her heads not suiting her I said screw it and wicked up my other KF clone for her and Yay!! she likes it lol she never liked the KFs before. This is the real advantage for me I'm so sick of rebuilding Protank coils especially when it takes 3 or 4 of them every time she changes heads to find one she "likes".

Thanks JeremyR this stuff is awesome.

You don't have enough power.

Your only Putting out 11w maybe 12 with a single battery at 1.8. Last I knew the output was 2.5 amps with one battery. You would need 2-3 more watts with rayon over your current set up to see the capabilities.

You can
A- recoil to 2.3-2.4 to be able get the full 15w at 2.5amps. You will get more power with higher ohm with your setup due to amp limit.
Or
B- the better option get a pair of 18350 imrs and stack it up (5amp limit) and you'll be able to push it to the max in voltage mode, 6v 1.8ohm 20w

Rayon on par or slightly better than cotton and cotton better than yarn.

Got some cellucotton from Sally's today and wicked my patriot dual coils at .8 ohms..... This stuff is fantastic, I have never tasted my juice like this before..... 500 ft think I am set. On a side note no offense to anyone but what I read in this thread is dripping ( no punintended) with irony. For 20 plus years I put massive amounts of toxic smoke on my lungs and didn't think about. I understand safety concerns but I can just about guarantee there is not anything worse for your body than smoking cigs.... If they discover vaping is only half as dangerous as smoking I am ok with that..... That leaves me ahead of where I was at with smoking, just a thought
