Good points.
Potassium cyanid and sodium nitrate?

Heheh. Well, as always, examples can be problematic; cyanocobalamin does have a few problems because this form of B12 is purged (nice word for pee) sooner than other forms, due to the cyanide. That's why there are more effective forms like hydroxocobalamin, and, for those with the MTHFR defect, methylcobalamin.

But I'm just fooling around and happen to know a bit about B12 (for all the wrong reasons...). ;) I absolutely agree with the general statement though, and I swear I will scream the next time someone says "organic" in a video. :D

PS: I once asked for a tapwater test analysis back when I was into keeping koi. The number of scary sounding chemicals and heavy metals on that sheet was enough to give you nightmares. Yet, it was all good news, and the water was perfect for filling/topping up the ponds.

PS2: Maybe if it was called fluffycotton instead of rayon... ;)

yeah, but search engines are up on this... these services are generally only good for a short amount of time. It's best to get there legitimately,... by actually having relevant data on your pages, with contextual basis, linked to and from those pages, etc.

Some days I wish ECF didn't get searched as much as it does (by search engines)... other days I'm quite happy as it makes finding things as easy as google... so long as you don't mind missing the most recent posts.

Hmm, well then it sounds like GoDaddy is scamming people by offering that "bump". I told our club president about this service and he asked me to add it, you are right, it did bump us up toward the top of search results but only for a short time. It did help draw people to the website so it wasn't a complete waste of money, we never used it again because we found facebook was a really good way to gain exposure.

Hmm... Jeremy, maybe you should start a vaping rayon facebook page, we could hit it up and help get the word out there!

Ok well when taking pictures showing how i trim and pack my coils with rayon wick double insertion, i broke the build i was working on a octo - coil, quad parallel dual coil with 32g i snapped a little to close to coil in picture 2
lgSjWk.jpg
^^^double insertion rayon wick. I cut my rayon wick with a angle to roll into a long thinner thread at first. Makes it easier to insert wicks. And makes timing easier.
4TkhJg.jpg
^^^ i then cut off the end of my rayon wick i didn't twist as close to coil as possible to thin my tails.

What's not pictured is one more step easily unroll your rayon wick.
And fan out the tail full 180° if possible. For 3-4 post atty 90° is what you want. After fanning trim as close to deck as possible. Then dry fit the rayon wick onto the deck. Let the rayon wick saturate fully for a few minutes before firing.

For that build which would have been .2ohms i would thin and trim both rayon wick tails on each coil. For builds in the .5-1.3 ohms single tail works fine too keep em good and saturated even at 6v

Anyways its that easy! supposed to be a small tutorial on using rayon wick with the double insertion method.
This setup has been the easiest way to keep the right density, and right amount of tail to work with all my 3 post attys.

I'm diggin those coils, nice job! Great pics and tips, Thanks! :) I see I'm not the only one who found a good use for those old clearo bases! When I'm wicking I'll screw my atty's on them then clamp the base in my little bench vice, I can easily turn the atty as I'm working on it. I also use them for storing my atty's and keep them upright when not in use.

Rayon is freaking amazing, I've had times I've run my clearo's and dripper's dry, gotten a nasty dry hit and it never hurt the wick. I'll just refill or drip and go right back to vaping without any damage to the wick and without any loss of flavor or performance. Sometimes it won't come back to life but usually when that happens I'll find the old coil is badly junked from extended use and I think what I'm tasting is the burnt junk on the wire and not actually burnt rayon.

That's my experience too, SlickWilly. The warning sign for me is usually a crisp, loud vape - liquid audibly boiling compared to a normal hit, and I know I've entered dry hit territory.

Press much further, and I get a kind of hammy bacon taste (anyone else?). Resaturate, and I'm back in business :)

To finish my experience with trimming rayon wick. I was able to salvage one of the quad parallel coils. Put it in my igoW with cyclops airflow, hitting like a TRAIN at .4ohm and looks like one too vapor for miles thick and cloudy.

Here's after thinning, this is how i fan out my tails to trim them.

Heres after trimming, don't forget to clean up all that fluff.

32g monster there..

Must heat really fast compared to 26 at that ohm.

Yeah on my nemesis its 2-3 second pulls, instant clouds. I haven't tried it on my 6v raptor, its on hiatus due the magnets holding the door attracted some stray kanthal into it and it smoked a little. Took the batteries out, and sat them outside they weren't hot or anything. Havnt had the nerve to see if it still works or not, if not that was a lot of work to put together lol.

Coil after coil, rayon wiking after rayon wiking, i'm finally getting flavor from my juice. Still needs work though. Will try with 28gauge when its gets in the mail. Dont have the room for bigger 24g coil in my rda.... using 8 wraps on 1/8.

As of now, im still getting a bit more flavor from Atlantis tank.

Try a smaller diameter coil 1/16 -5/64 (1.5-2mm) just saying some time too big sucks lol

I don't know what is wrong with my wicking Squapes with Rayon. All three of them are wicked about the same. And all three of them are leaking a little bit if left upright overnight. I usually trim the tails and leave a little bit more then you see in my pictures. Then I fine tune my Rayon by trimming it until I get the best performance and wick saturation out of it. But now I'm faced with leaking.
What am I doing wrong?

AMD,

I had my Squape leak once and I have several others that will pull that when I leave them overnight or a couple of days. Not much of a leak but a PITA anyway.

With the Squape I have taken to twisting a piece of tissue about the size of a Q-tip head and stuffing it in the air hole. I also started building my Squape coils above the deck so that the wick doesn't touch the edge of the channel by the air hole. The strange thing is I don't know what is different now but it hasn't leaked since the first few days but when I know it is going to sit for a time I still put the tissue plug in.

My current theory is temperature change between day and night altering the pressure in the tanks. Heck I don't know it could also be aggravated by barometric pressure and temperature.

PS - Like the new Avatar. It make me smile every time I see it.

Maybe I'm all wrong on this but I have a theory, forgive me if this has already been mentioned. Something I've noticed several times now is the darkening of juice in a tank atomizer/clearomizer can be an indicator for the rayon wick tails being too thick. Now, on attys that allow easy access to the rayon wick and coil, like a Kraken, etc. it's easy to see how the tails are performing by looking at the color of the rayon wick in the coil and just outside the coil (dark rayon wick = too thick). But on attys like a Kayfun, etc. where access to the rayon wick and coils isn't that easy, the tell-tale darkening of the juice is saying the tails are too thick, causing the juice to be pulled back out of the coils. But when there's no darkening of the juice it seems that the tails are just about right and the build seems to last longer with better flavor and overall better performance.

Any information would be great, Links to purchase from a know source is rock on, any spare you want to free send is awesome. I'm up for any of those or combination of all 3.

I get mine free from where I get my haircut - I just ask nicely for a yard of it :) It's the stuff they use when they do perms to keep the liquid from dripping down the neck. They probably know it as cotton rope - at least that's what I call it when I ask for some.

Rsunderl,

You have to be careful they do make it in cotton and rayon. There are several of us that didn't pay attention to the box (which all look alike) and got cotton instead of rayon.
