If 100% rayon is full of chemicals, I don't think they would put that stuff in medicine bottles, like they used to do with cotton.

Medicine isn't necessarily the most healthy stuff either. Thus the constant lawsuits. And the plastic container the pills come in... wouldn't want to vape that either.

Hello rin, haven't crossed paths with you for a while. I have tried all wicking materials and this product is the purest wick ever. Zero flavor imparted into the juice. Wicks incredibly fast. You use silica, now that I can not do.. I've got 40ft of high grade 3mm silica if you want it, it has a price tag of 50.00 on it from silicawicks I paid 40 I think. Like cooking vaping can go wrong if you don't do it just right.
I don't use silica... I just have used it. Right now I'm using mostly bamboo (tanks) and the premade Protank heads... which I'm guessing use silica. But that's it. And when I rebuild those, I don't use silica. Dripping, I use cotton and the Japanese stuff doesn't seem to cause too many issues but I haven't used it long.
So, since you seem to be as close to an expert as possible on this stuff, what do you recommend Rayon wise? The Cellucotton or that Tencil stuff? (I started reading the posts from the beginning but there are A LOT of pages)

Have you ever made cotton wicks for a genny,, ? Like that I'd assume,...... What is your problem with it?

Yes a boatload. That's all I use. But I can wet it and twist it and feed it through the coil into the tank. My RSSTs have 3mm wick holes and the AGA-T2s IIRC are 2mm. Just wondering if this will stay compressed long enough to get it through the coil and into the tank.

To the ecig community-

Actually folks nobody has provided a shred of evidence that rayon has been proven to be dangerous in any way.

Surgeons use it routinely as dressing and its proven to work better than cotton for skin grafting. Less site pain or something, probably because of its purity.

It is a purified cellulose extracted from trees and such. The end product is routinely tested free of harmful chemicals.

If you don't understand the science behind it don't use it, doesn't matter to me. It's not like I make a dime from this.

Do you understand how pg is made. It's IUPAC name is Propane-1,2-diol ... Propylene is a hydrocarbon it's Converted to propylene oxide , Propylene oxide is a probable human carcinogen, processed by one of these methods - hydroclorination, co-oxidation of the organic chemicals isobutane or ethylbenzene., or a new peroxide process. Then it's reacted/ mixed with water to create pg. (Just a quick summation)

Click here and click on production process. Propylene Glycol - Production .

You actually smoke this pg into your lungs I provide this information not to scare you just to show that just because it uses chemical reactions to create a regenerated cellulose molecule doesn't mean its unsafe.

We do not burn or smoke the g.r.a.s. rayon.. all it does is act as a plumbing pipe to transport juice to our coil.

Scan this thread for my posts by doing a advanced thread search with my name. That will allow you to more quickly find the 20- 30+ posts about the process to create this product And research.

It's easily stays compressed when wet, just try not to compress it too much! Go light. Because it will swell a little if you do it that way.

Dont worry Jeremy - you're awesome :)
And it's already a great effort that you're trying to proof this stuff is safe either way. Just because you made this thread, doesn't really mean you have to. So it's twice as great that you try to help - as you said you get nothing from improving other's vape experiences like this. Just out eternal gratitude- that's for sure :D

By the way, if anyone has the time and Jeremy would be willing to edit the OP:
I've been linking a lot of people here, but nobody really has the time and patience to read through 120+ pages without knowing what this stuff is. So maybe we should but some structured introduction into the OP to get people hooked? Something like:

1.) cellucotton
a) introduction
b) where to buy
c) testimonials (collect some from the thread)
d) Potential Health risks (and disputes)
2.) tencel
.
.
etc.

Cellucotton , tencel is similar to ramie if you can work with that, but it's touchier than Cellucotton.

Seems we need to start some type of a sharing program.

Who has time to put some samples up on ebay or craigslist. We cannot post links to those but one could easily search there one we were notified that it was available. Envelope sizes are easiest and cheapest. Plus it's plenty to get started.

This is what I found on the Graham web site. The stuff in green is all the same. The stuff in red is the reinforced; the stuff not to get.

44130Regular Coil40 Ft./Box12 Boxes/Case
You'd think by this point some enterprising Sally's employee or regular customer would order this and sell those much more manageable size and amount boxes for like $5 each and clean up.
So these only come in huge boxes? That's a turn off for me.
I said it before. Has anyone checked to see if this item number is indeed CelluCotton? And if it really is a dozen 40' boxes? Seems like the ideal solution; a more manageable amount at a lesser price.

I can imagine that one would use a few feet of this stuff for every perm done so that 40' wouldn't be very useful to anyone who uses it in their livelihood hence most stores not carrying the small size. But for vapers even 40' is a huge supply.

Just got back from Sally's. They had Cellucotton... but just the cotton one. I did get it. It was only $2... it was a little pouch of it. I've seen people use this form as well and if nothing more, I can use it for it's intended purpose. (cosmetics)

Yes, definitely. I'm sure they never intended it for vapers. As I just posted, they have smaller sizes at Sally's (10 ft, which is plenty) but my store only had the cotton version. It's one of the smaller stores in my area so they don't have "everything" in there. Maybe they'll have it in other stores though. That would be ideal for us.

This thread is going TOO FAST. Hell faster that pdib's thread. Good job!! :D

Anyone found a source of cellucotton in Europe or that can ship to Greece?

I found 3 website that ship from US but shipping is above 30 usd for the 40 ft one! Dayum!

Nope. Searched for hours already and didn't find anything, so i'm still using the Rossmann viscose.
If enough people are interested, maybe we group buy a 40ft one then split it up or something :p

The 10 ft version is not made in rayon. This is what I gathered.

I have been following this thread from day one. I finally "bit the bullet" and stopped by Sally's and bought the 500' box of 100% rayon cellucotton. I wicked up my Cyclone bf and put it on my Reo. WOW!!! I am tasting things in my juice that I have never tasted before. Neither with cotton, hemp, or rami. I have tried several juices now and everyone one of them has been much better with rayon.

Jeremy, you are my new Vaping Hero!
