Regarding the vapor production I'm almost sure that because it wick too good your coil is not getting as hot as it does with cotton so just crank up the watts and report back again. Taking long hits that increase the vapor with no dry hits kinda confirms this.

So I threw them on my sigelei 20w and cranked up the voltage. I'm surprised at how high I can go (1.2 at 19 watts) without experiencing burning. Definitely different from cotton.

Now I'm going to have to rebuild my dual-coiled .6 Omega (ugh!) to get the right performance, lol!

This will take some getting used to, lol...

I've been reading a book, regenerated cellulose fibers, description follows-

"This is a comprehensive work by industrial and academic specialists proving up-to-date information on the chemistry, physics, process technology, applications and markets for man-made cellulosic fibres. It covers the properties and applications of viscose rayon, cupprammonium rayon and the new solvent-spun fibres as well as considering their relationships with the natural cellulosics such as cotton "

It does indicate rayon for medical/ pharma use is held to a higher standard of purity.

Also all rayon has a very safe, enviro friendly, organic based, nontoxic lubricant added to help processing into bales. A couple different kinds.

Lubricant? Bring out the trolls! :)

But if you get a salty or metallic taste a quick rinse may help as some of the sodium phosphate may be leftover.

I don't know if it's the power of suggestion, lol, but you're right - I swear I'm getting a minerally-salty taste! I will have to rinse, dry, and rewick to see if it goes away. It's not a totally unpleasant flavor, but it's not pleasant, either, and it definitely changes the flavor.

Thanks for the heads up!

There are a variaty of reason flavor could be off. But let us know if you notice an improvement with the Sally's. However it could just be the rewick too.

(Na2so4 is sodium sulfate)

Sitting down, facing forward.
I just rebuilt a CE3 using Tencel. So far I like it better than the rayon/CC from Sally's. Flavor is great and vapor production is better. That may be a result of my increasing experience with rayon though, so the jury is still out. Keep in mind the CE3 is a 1ml mini tank running on a 3.7 volt auto for hands free operation so it doesn't/can't compare to a large tank or RBA on a big battery system or VV/VW mod.

Correction, it's sodium sulfate that could possibly be left on it, a non-toxic salt called grubers salt, in the same family as Epsom salt; magnesium sulfate. But this has yet to be proven as a potential problem or fully recognized as an issue yet.

My fault, it was super late when I posted. Thanks for the correction.

I edited my post.

I lost an old "friend" of mine over the weekend since starting to use Rayon.

Please join me in saying farewell to Mr. Dryhitting Kraken. R.I.P.

Day 5 now and not a single dry hit. As I stated before, I have found I no longer have to tip my Kraken either.

That's great to hear, I have an Infinite Kraken on the way. Does yours leak if left on its side?

Here's my favorite genny the pulse built with a reducer and a single parallel coil ohms out @ 0.67ohm, wish it was a little late around 0.5 0hm would have been perfect.

Working perfectly, it was a breeze to setup. Just feed reason down coil to tank just like cotton.

just received my buttload of tencel. A little hurridly loaded up the taifun with it cause its easy. First, it will take a little to get used to the difference working with it. Lets just say its different than cotton, not dramatically but no real big deal. I basically just jammed it in the coil. If it would have been cotton it would have choked like a sob. Didnt care, lit it up anyway. Flavor is better from the start.no dry hits, no gurgling. The vapor is more. My real test is when i put a just charged battery in. Normally, the first hit or two is kinda almost burnt. Not this time. Took it like chubby blonde in the redlight district! The general warmth of the vape is a little warmer. I suppose thats so because it wicks better. Been chain vaping for 5 mins and no problems. Going to have to rewick and use more care next time. Hate to see what this shiite will do when properly installed.
So far.....its a hit!!!!

Can you imagine that with the same amount of cotton...G.U.L.P

That's how I run it with cotton, well I trimmed about half of the puff on the top off.

I mounted the coil then got a piece of rayon, about half inch longer than I wanted the wick to be, cut the first half inch at an angle, spit on it, twisted it up and fed it down into the tank, with the tank removed, pledging bottom till it got firm and done.

Is that juice spatter on the mirror from test firing, or did your alpaca sneeze?
